I’m planning to buy a Sub for my currently 5.0 setup (Beam and 2 Play 1s). The setup sounds very good but I feel like it’s missing the thumping bass of a subwoofer. I know that the sub is very expensive at 700$ but after the EoL announcement, I wonder how long the sub would be support by Sonos. IMO I think that the sub should be able to last longer than the playbar (same released date in 2012) because the sub doesn’t work alone without a speaker. So I think that the main music streaming is from the speaker itself like Ones, Play 5, Beam or Bar.  What do you think I should do in this situation? Thanks

Hello Everyone,  Although I believe I know the answer based on previous topics, I wanted to confirm with the community before purchasing anything else.    Here is my setup: I have: An Epson 1060 Projector (https://www.amazon.com/Epson-Cinema-brightness-speakers-projector/dp/B073S4TS4G) Roku Premier Streaming (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HDBZN7Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and Sonos Beam.  The roku is directly connected to the projector.    Am I correct in understanding I will need an HDMI Audio Extractor in order to play sounds from Roku. (This one for example. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BIQER0E/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2IX3RNQE846HA&psc=1 )    I will connect the Roku > HDMI Audio Extractor > Beam in SPDFI output and projector in HDMI output.    Thank you for your help. 

I have tried to sort this multiple times but the dialogue that comes from the playbar is so hard to listen too, my wife now refuses to watch TV in the room with it!! music is great but you almost need to lip read if there is any background sounds going on   i have called tech support and submitted diagnostics but the sound is still poor, any ideas what to try - i am seriously thinking about purchasing something else   Andy

Hi all,   Im pretty new to the Sonos family. When I use Google Home and say “Play music Metallica on Sonos” my living room sonos speaker turns on and playing that. But I have more speakers in the house. How do I get Google Home to play on all speakers or a set of group as default, such as all speakers in the ground floor. I tried things like “Play music Metallica on Sonos all speakers” etc but no luck. Is this even possible?

I set up the Sonos One two weeks ago and it connected fine to our existing Sonos system. Alexa voice was also working well. The Sonos One was unplugged for several days, and when I started it back up, Alexa did not respond, It appears that the voice services in the Sonos and Alexa apps on my Android phone are active. The system plays music just fine via the Sonos app. Any ideas on what might be wrong? Thank you in advance... SDK

Why doesn’t my Sonos speaker appear the same way my HomePods and my Apple TV do in the control center? This means that I can only AirPlay to the Sonos speaker from other devices. Is this by design or is it a Sonos limitation?    

I’m just starting buy buy philips hue products and wants to see if the Sonos will work well with Philip Hue Sync Box. I want to know first if I can connect it directly to the TV I’m going to use or do I need to have another device like Apple 4K to use it correctly? I own a lot of Sonos products and need to make sure I’m spending my money on something that works!

Hi   Got a play bar and 2 play 1’s as surround sound for my TV.    The volume up has stopped working.    I’ve reconnected it via the app, followed all the prompts and it’s says it’s connected.    The light comes on when turning volume down but not when turning volume up. The lights worked when I reconnected in the app but doesn’t work.    Any ideas? 

So, allegedly, Amazon HD is supported on Sonos. How does one know what songs are in HD and what are not?  I don’t see any of this indicated on the Sonos app.   Is every song in the upgraded HD format and we should just presume we are getting that quality? Thanks in advance

If I buy the Sonance ceiling speakers to use in my kitchen and connect them to the Sonos AMP do they have to play in a left/right stereo pair configuration or can they be configured to provide a mono type output similar to a single stereo speaker?  I cannot place the speakers such that the listening positions will be right for a stereo pair output.  I could use a couple of single stereo speakers but I have a slopped ceiling and I don’t see that any of those have pivoting tweeters.     

Hi - sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn’t find this specific question. I want to evaluate whether it is possible to use the HDMI input of a Sonos Port to transmit the audio from a HDMI input, such as a Blu-ray player, to my Beam (and potentially two rear speakers). Specifically, we have a projector setup with all video devices in the back of the room (projector, multiple input devices such as a Blu-ray player, set-top-box, etc, and a HDMI switch to toggle between inputs). This also includes a HDMI splitter, with identical signals running to the projector (back of the room) and to the Sonos Beam (front of the room). So far so good, works flawlessly. The thing is, this cable running to the front of the room is really bothering us. Would it be possible to -- instead of running it to the Beam directly -- have it go into a Sonos Port in the back of the room, which then transmits it to the Beam? As the signal is already digital, it should work with little latency, right? And w

I have encountered a bug that I assume has something to do with locale/encoding. I am using the Sonos Controller on an up-to-date Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge) on which the phone is currently in Japanese. I have just paid for YouTube Music and have added my account, but when I tap on "YouTube Music" from my list of services, I see this page: [img]b4c82c4f-4ba5-4e09-acba-dbd3f40b04ec.jpg[/img] I assume this is an error page of some sort but it isn't being displayed properly. My YouTube Music account settings have my language set to English (UK), and my region set to Canada. I have tried changing the language on YouTube Music to Japanese but this doesn't seem to fix the issue. Any ideas?

Would I be able to join a Symfonisk speaker with a Play: 1 to create a stereo pair?

As a Sonos customer with several products (playbar, sub, 3 x play 3’s, two plays 1’s, two boost, Sonos one) what on earth is the justification for not including New Zealand in the trade up program? It’s only by luck I don’t own any play 5’s and lets be honest play 3’s won’t be far from joining this list along with the playbar? Am I to be left with bricks and no motivation or financial possibility to continue using your product while the rest of the world saves a third for each product they replace?! I’m outraged and will have to consider preemptively selling off all my Sonos products before they become worthless and encourage the poor souls I recommended your products to to do the same. Very disappointed 

I'm thinking of getting the new SONOS bluetooth speaker MOVE but have a few questions: 1. If I connected MOVE with my home's wifi network, it will work exactly the same as the other speakers and I can put it wherever I want, right? 2. If I'm not at home and bring MOVE with me, both the speaker and my mobile connected to the same wifi network, can my phone's SONOS controller app works and connect with MOVE, so I can search via the controller app and play the songs via MOVE? 3. When I'm home and have MOVE connected and grouped with the other speakers, can I also use my mobile phone to connect with MOVE by bluetooth at the same time, so I can play whatever content from my mobile phone (for example YouTube or other music services) and the sound come out from all speakers? I am eligible to trade up my (2) Gen 1 Play 5’s. Would I be able to trade up both Play 5’s and get 30% off each of (2) Gen 2 Play 5’s or 30% off  only (1) Gen 2 Play 5?  I found the description of the program a little confusing. Thanks

Well Sonos, when are you going to support Apple MacOS 10.15 Catalina?

Still trying to get my GA routines working again on my Sonos Ones, but I’m just encountering one error after another that makes it difficult to even pinpoint the specific problems. That’s very frustrating!   First of all the GA routines invoked on my Sonos speakers are now failing about 30% of the time in the last few weeks. It tends to come and go in bursts - if there’s one failure, there are lots more for a while, then things settle down. (Just to be clear, there are no failures on my Google Home speakers, no failures on the Echo Dot located right next to the Sonos speakers, and no failures if I switch to Alexa as the voice assistant on Sonos).   Whenever there is a failure, GA on Sonos locks up for more than a minute with the “active” LED on, then says something went wrong. Sometimes it’s worse - for example if I ask it to play my news briefing, the response is sometimes delayed for several minutes, during which time the active LED is not on, and GA on Sonos will not respond to any

I have just received a new Sonos 5 which I ordered after I was led to believe that my existing “legacy” Sonos 5 woud no longer operate as from May this year. Will the legacy product continue to work following the Sonos change in policy or I have I been suckered into buying a new product unnecessarily? My system is telling me that my device will “deactivate in 8 days”. What does that mean for ongoing use of the device?? Like many others, I have spent a lot of money on Sonos products over the years and I am extremely frustrated and disappointed by what has gone on here.

I have a Connect:Amp that is a legacy product, so I am considering my options. I could do a one-for-one replacement with a Sonos Amp, or I could buy a Port and with the AU$280 difference in trade-up price find an old secondhand two channel amplifier or receiver on eBay. I’ve had a bit of a look, and there are some nice offerings from good name brands of yesteryear, and even today (NAD, Technics, Pioneer, Marantz, Denon, Onkyo, etc). What does the brains trust think?

I’m sure a lot of us use old tablets to control Sonos, I use this Vizio tablet. After the recent update i’m getting a warning saying that my Android version, 6,  is not supported. There is no Android update available for this tablet. The app still works, will it stop working completely in the future?    

I have a Sonos Port going into high end amplifier/speakers.  Has anyone had success adding additional components to improve the sound of the Port (or Connect)? I was thinking of maybe an external DAC or Preamp - but something that would maintain volume control within the app.  Has anyone had success with this? It seems most external components (DAC/Preamp) would move the volume control to the upstream device itself, and not from the Sonos App.. Dave

Whenever I have my house cleaned, inevitably the cleaning people have diligently dusted the tops of all my Sonos One & Beam speakers, thus disabling the microphone on one or more of them (despite repeated requests for them to not dust these). When I get home I start making Alexa requests but of course there's no answer. I have to run around the house & manually check each microphone button. I'd like to be able to DISABLE the microphone on/off button entirely from within the app settings, to prevent people from accidentally turning off the microphone. There's already a "Speaker Touch Controls" enable/disable setting - but alas, this doesn't seem to affect the microphone on/off button. Could this functionality please be added? Thanks!
