I have just ordered a Sonos Move and wish to use it possibly as a party speaker and was wondering how loud it can actually get-would it be able to be loud enough to hear the music over people shouting and conversing at the same time?

I’ve just bought a Sonos Move for myself and two Sonos Ones for my parents. After hearing how great the two Sonos Ones sound paired together I’m seriously considering ditching my Move for two Sonos Ones instead. I’d ideally like to purchase a Sonos One for myself and use it with my Move in my bedroom. From my experimentation with my parent’s Sonos One it seems as though the Move must be its own “room” and be “grouped” with the One for them to play together.  My issue is that I would like to simply select a single “room” from any of my Apple devices and have the audio automatically play from both the Move and One. When toggling between apple devices and sources, I often must go back into the Sonos app and regroup the Move and One for them to play together.  I’d like to be able to open my Macbook Pro, select the audio icon from the menu bar and choose a single “room” or something from the audio drop dropdown and pump audio through both the Move and One. I have 2 Play-1s and would like to add a Sonos Beam Shadow for 3.1 setup. I have read that this setup would only allow the Play 1s as rear channel speakers Does the newer “Beam Shadow” allow the Play 1s to be used as front L&R speakers ? THX

I have a Sonos Port connected to my stereo and a Play:5 sitting in the same room. How can I force group the Sonos Port to my Play:5 so when I use the play button on the 5, I can play my music on both devices? Thanks.

Hello,   I have a paired set of Sonos One SL’s. After 24 hours of not being in use I seem to have to unplug them to reset them in order for the app to see them.   The problem is I set them up really high and hard to reach. I thought they would stay on stand by until the next use.   Anybody have any suggestions?   Thanks

Hi Guys,  Really hoping you can help. I have a Panasonic TV, plugging my Play5 through the 3.5 jack from headphone jack in TV to the back of the Sonos and have a delay. I have tried uncompressed fix and no love.   I want to get a sync sound from the TV to the Sonos as I have 20 people coming round to watch the boxing on Sunday haha. HELP. Hello. Im thinking of getting the amp so I can connect my LP player. The idea is also that I want to connect a speaker for my terrace where I have no electric outlet, whereof I need an Sonos Move as I understand? There for my question is, can I connect the Sonos move to the amp? Or is there another, better solution for me? Thank you !

I'm considering an aftermarket purchase from ebay, but would really like to know if the product(s) have been previously recycled.      I'd also like to know how to tell if a product that is being sold for parts, actually doesnt work, or if it is user error and they are just fed up with the tech part of sonos.  

I'm dying to get a Sonos surround sound setup going, but my media room has a projector at the back of the room. From my understanding, I'll need to run an optical cable from the back of the room to the PlayBar up front which I'm really not thrilled about. I love the idea of going wireless, but having to run a 50 foot optical cable along my wall in order to go wireless seems a little like defeating the whole point, yea? Please tell me there's a better way to do this...wouldn't it make so much sense to have other devices capable of accepting the optical connection? It would be way easier in a projector setup to run an optical cable to either the sub or rear speakers which could be placed near the source. With a projector, the only speaker that kind of HAS to be wireless is the soundbar. Has Sonos given any thought to this?

Every home automation company I have talked to is advising against the idea of using Sonos with a projector at all.  I would like to make it work in order to avoid paying for Savant/Control 4, and so I can have it work with all of the other Sonos speakers I plan on having around the house.  What is the best way to go about this?  My plan is below, will it work? Epson 5050ub is connected to Apple TV 4k via HDMI.  Apple TV connected to Sonos 5.1 (playbar, sub, 2 back speakers for surround) via Airplay or optical (using adapter at Apple TV). Based on what I have seen on here, I believe this should work.  What do you think?  Is there a better way?  Is Airplay or optical better for this application? Thanks!

I’m being offered a 30% discount for trading up my Legacy Connect: Amps and Play:5 but not my Bridge. Is there a reason for that?  

I have just removed my bridge from my setup and all working fine on a wireless basis. This was originally due to the bridge failing (it was actually the power line (which can be replaced)). Is there any alternative use for the bridge eg to extend wifi? Any polite thoughts appreciated.

Replacing my Arcam amplifier with the Connect should preferably not result in material, notable loss of sound quality. Hi I have had my sonos beam since the launch in denmark, and are quite glad for the "wireless" surround i can have to my play:1 as rear speaker. however, it annoys me in my setup that i have to use my "build in" plex / netflix app on my samsung TV to get 5.1 signal output. Whenever i use netflix app / plex on the shield, The sonos Beam only plays stereo My setup is: TV: Samsung UE49KS7005 Nvidia Shield newest 16gb version Sonos Beam+2play:1 rear speaker. Cable: HDMI ARC between TV and beam Shield connected to HDMI port on samsung HDMI input. When ever i play Netflix, plex movies on the build in app on my TV, the sound is decoded fine to Dolby digital 5.1 everything i play through shield is stereo. is there no solution to this i have tryed to force surround output on shield, etc. triet some "PCM" and "Bitstream" setting on samsung TV sound-setting, but always stereo only. unless i find a plex movie, that has AC5.1 standard. then its surround but it wount

Hi. I know this is not a Sonos issue as such but I want to know if anyone else has this problem.   When I am playing an audiobook with the Audible app and want to have it play on a Sonos speaker I see a list of devices but no device name.   If I put my finger on the picture of the speaker the name appears for a moment and it does select the device to play on but I am working blind from the list. I have this problem on both android pixel 3a phones I own. Everything else works fine..Spotify and the Sonos App find the speakers and names with no problems and I can play Audible via the Sonos app.  I asked Audible support and they did not understand the issue. Is anyone else having this problem?    

I have an old Philips PF9731 TV without HDMI ARC or optical audio out. Will a Sonos Beam work when using a HDMI Switcher with Audio Extractor with the following connections: Cable box and DVD player connected to HDMI In on Switchbox TV connected to HDMI Out from Switchbox SPDIF Out from Switchbox connected to Beam (using the optical adapter that comes with it) If this doesn’t work, any other suggestions?

Hi!   I frequently come home and a family member or nanny has started playing something wonderful on our echo, probably because it's easiest to say what to play and no one remembers to append, “in the <room name>" to have it play on our Sonos.   I would love to tell Alexa to transfer music or transfer “what's playing” to the <room name>, but that command doesn't seem to be understood.    Is there a way to transfer what's playing via the Alexa app or a different voice command?   Also, is there a way to set a default playback device other than the echo on an echo?   Thanks! I used to keep all of my sonos system playing Classic FM radio station from London during the day. This was through Tune In. Sonos seems to have dropped this service. I was able to find some alternate classic fm stations through global player (although still not the live stream), for a couple of months. Now even these are no longer playing. Global player is still listed as one of my available services though nothing on it will come up in any searches and now no stations on it will play. 

The preferred speaker function in the Alexa app no longer works after the latest Sonos update. It has always worked perfectly. I have disabled and reabled the Sonos function in the Alexa app and that didn’t work.

I haven’t setup any assistants.  Is Sonos listening and sending my bedroom talk to a transcription service?

When I turn my TV on, no sound comes through the playbar. I previously found a help topic that said to unplug all HDMI devices and plug back in making sure the PLaybar is first. This works to fix the immediate problem, but I have to take these steps everytime the TV is turned on. Is there a way to force the playbar to keep a permanent connection to the TV?

Is there a way to add Radio Paradise to the Sonos menu anywhere in order to be able to have a shortcut to stream Radio Paradise?

Set Beam up in December 2019 added 2 x One SL’s yesterday. All three units successfully grouped together as ‘Lounge’. Beam has been brilliant, Have introducing left and right hand One SL’s placed on floor behind each end of settee. Can operate system volume from any of the units, however when Beam is at acceptable volume, we can not hear the 2 x One SL’s, although they are working when you get your ear very close to them. Also once I get volume working correctly, can I expect to get true surround sound, such as helicopter buzzing around the room etc. This is my very first post, look forward to some helpful replies - Thanks

I have my Xbox One X connected via HDMI to a Phillips 50PUS7304/12 TV, which is connected via optical audio to a Sonos Playbase. I want to keep the main audio to the Sonos from my TV for the movie apps on it like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video etc.. I don’t experience any audio lag when watching anything directly from my TV. If the Xbox audio output over the HDMI is set to stereo uncompressed it's absolutely fine, except that I want better than stereo. It won't accept being set to 5.1 or 7.1 uncompressed (for this I'm just assuming it's because the TV isn't really made to be a high-end audio receiver which is fair). If I set it to bitstream out, the Dolby DTS setting is accepted but no sound comes out (presumably because Sonos don’t support it), while the Dolby Digital and Dolby Atmos settings both have a noticeable lag (maybe up to a second). I have a Sonos Beam and a Ring doorbell. I have installed the Alexa skill so that when the bell rings, an announcement comes over an echo device I have but not the Beam. I am guessing that the Beam does not support that particular skill, or am I being unduly pessimistic?
