Playing music through Apple Music > AirPlay 2 > Sonos One’s I have no drop outs. But when I select the Sonos One’s though the Apple TV, it’ll buffer then play which is understandable, but the audio will intermittently drop out every 5-10 minutes or so for about 1-3 seconds. CNN and Netflix has this issue so far, HBO Go seems stable enough but has its moments every now and then. I’ve had one instance of sync being off, but a pause/play fixed that. I love that AirPlay 2 has arrived but I think some bugs need to be ironed out. Any solutions for this so far? I’ve read about checking WiFi channels etc but no dice, thanks for any info. I'm finding the range of voices vs explosion etc in action movies so wide that I can hardly hear voices but explosions are earth shaking. I realize this may be the way the movie is intended but would expect voices to clearer. Turning on Speech Enhancement does not help much and night mode just crushes all detail of the range. My Sony TV does have a sound setting to adjust the Dolby Dynamic range to Standard or Compressed. Currently it's set at Standard I'm going to try Compressed but wondering if anyone else had similar experience. I find this is an issue more with my Apple TV and tv built Netflix App

Can’t get 5.1 surround out of Xbox for Blu-rays on Beam. HDMI-Audio: Stereo: works 5.1 (uncompressed) -„Not supported by Audio Receiver“ What do I need to do?

Beam inbuilt IR sensor doesn’t appear to be receiving remote control signal to turn volume up down. Tv sensor is partially obscured, but thought the Beam IR receiver would pass remote control though to TV. With a Sony Bravia TV.

I preorded the beam and I love it. Couple issues I am having a hard time understanding and I think it is my cheap-o TV. My Vizio M65-E0 4k HDR TV only has 1 4K input which is also the only input that supports ARC. Now, I currently have it set up using the provided HDMI to TOSLINK cable and it sounds great but I am not getting any sound from my two rear Play 1's when watching TV. No audio at all. So i figured I would sacrifice the PS4 and the DirecTV box and only use the XBOX One X for my 4k. Well, since the beam doesn't have a passthrough, I don't think I can even do that. Just making sure I am not missing something here. For now I think I am stuck with the current setup I have. At least untill I can get a new TV with more HDMI input options.

Hi, I understand I can send volume commands from my remote control to my Sony Bravia TV via the Beam over HDMI. This works as expected. However, the Beam obstructs the iR receiver of my TV and so none of the other remote control commands work — channel select, TV guide or up/down/left/right. Is there any way to pass *all* remote commands to the Sony Bravia via the Beam/HDMI? I would like to keep the Beam in position in front of the TV. Thanks!

Hi there, I setup the new beam last night and got it working no problem, issue is with lip sync when watching either Netflix / NOW Tv or through our Virgin TV V6 box. I have an LG 42LB585V-ZM TV and have the Beam connected via ARC. Have tried tweeking settings as suggested to try and sync them but it's not getting close, it's quite annoying. Any ideas on how to resolve it or should i just swap to the optical out? Thanks in advance. Ross

I bought a Beam yesterday, and took it back for a refund two hours later! Seems neither of my Panasonic TVs pass Dolby Digital received via HDMI back to the ARC (my newer Sony TV does). I already have two Play 1s in the bedroom and thought the Beam would be ideal for 5.0 sound, but could only hear anything when inputing non Dolby signal to the TV, hence non surround sound to Sonos. Alternative would have been a direct optical link from the (Sky Q) set top box, but then I'm instantly limiting myself to one device and won't be able to hear anything from the TV's built in apps over Sonos. Again optical from TV to Sonos would give the same results as ARC as the telly won't receive Dolby through HDMI at all (even playing through own speakers). I know Panasonic are non existent in the US but are common elsewhere, and have seen lots of people moan about how they handle Dolby audio. How do I prevent "audio out" message from showing up when I change the volume on my Samsung TV?

Is there anyway to make the dialogue louder in my TV? The background sound is booming but we really have to turn it up to hear the dialogue. We have a play bar and sub and two play:1s for surround. Thank you.

SONOS Beam is intermittenly dropping sound while watching TV. I have a 4K Samsung TV connected via coaxial cable. (Comcast) The Beam is connected to the TV via HDMI (ARC) I have seen some replies suggesting network latency or interference. This should not come into play in this configuration. Also, I have no issues whatsoever streaming music to the Beam over WiFi. Please advise as this is very frustrating. Update: This started the other night and since has not happened again. At this point it looks like it was not a Sonos issue.

I think the answer is yes, but was hoping to see if someone confirms. I currently have a 5.1 setup with a Sonos Playbar, Sub and two Sonos Play 1 speakers. If I replace my Sonos Playbar with a Playbase I will be able to use Airplay2 with my 5.1 set up, correct?

The TV is recognising the device and Sonos support confirm that the Beam is sending packets to the TV, but nothing is coming back. LG support are sending out a tech to assess. The HDMI ARC port (#2) works as an input fine. This is the first time I have connected an ARC device to it (i.e. I am asking the TV HDMI port to output). I've played with all the limited settings I can access (PCM/Auto) and SIMPLINK) to no avail. I'm happily using the optical adapter for now though am keen to get this sorted to gain the additional functionality. Could just be a fault on my TV (or a service setting change required). Has anyone had a similar experience? Very impressed with sound quality on the Beam and it can handle something that I found the Playbar could not - playing music in full mode from the Sonos Connect in uncompressed mode I am not getting any drop outs - 🙂

Yes, this is sort of a ridiculous idea, but there's a minor issue I have regarding the Beam's power cord. Let me explain. For one of my setups, the TV is mounted on the wall. So of course, I have the Beam mounted under the TV...but not right under the TV. I want to be able to access the manual controls, so I placed the beam a few inches below the TV. That means that I have a few inches between the TV and beam where the power cord and the hdmi cable are visible. It doesn't look bad, but it's not ideal. I wouldn't mind hiding the cables in the wall (as I do with the TV), but technically the power cord is rated for in wall use (or is it?). The HDMI cable is fine for in wall use. I can't really use a outlet relocator kit as it would be too big. So my options are to just punch a small hole in the wall and not worry about being in code, or get an on-wall cable mgmt. thing. Hi I have my new Beam and it's great, except.... It doesn't show up as a device in the Harmony hub app. I have a variety of other Sonos devices which do show up. I have renamed one of the previous devices since adding the Beam. The rename shows up but not the new Beam. Does this just need an update from Logitech? Cheers

It's on a shelf but has space at the ends and the sides of the shelf are open. I've taken it out and put it on top and I think it sounds better. But I think it might be me imagining it.

My beam is connected through HDMI/ARC and Alexa will control TV volume but won't recognize the TV when I ask it to turn off and on the TV. Anyone else have this issue?

LG magic remote does not control sound from my Sonos PLAYBAR. I have followed the instructions to configure PLAYBAR and the remote and also disabled simplex. The sonos app says that the remote is configured to work with the PLAYBAR and I have sound but I cannot increase or decrease volume. any suggestions please ?

Hi forum members! I am going to buy the playbar tomorrow. I am not sure will I place it on a shelf below the TV or on its thiner edge on the top of the shelf, where currently sits my qacoustics M4. See photo (smartphone, croped, not sure the QM4 is visible 🙂 The sitting position is 5,5 metres away. Honestly, I am a bit worried: -i haven't tried the playbar in my room, so I don't know how it will sound. However, My two play 3 do very well. -i aspect slight degradation in sound compared to the QM4. The qacoustics, wherever is placed, projects the dialogue right in front of the TV. I am not sure the Playbar will be able to do that, (angle of speakers when in different positions) However, Sonos won me over with it's simplicity. I want to add more components. Playbar was in my sight a long time ago. After all, I'd could be surprised :-) I would love to hear what you think. Neven

I used to use 2 Sonos Ones for listening to music. Because of my room set up I was closer to my left speaker, so I slid the balance fader to the right, and all was right with the world again. Then I bought the Beam and set it up for 5.1 with my 2 Ones as surround, although I still use them for listening to music. However in its current configuration the balance fader is no longer there. I’m sure I could separate the Ones from the Beam to regain the fader but I’d lose the 5.1. And by 5.1 I mean 5.0 because I have no sub. I’m wondering if there’s a way to get the fader back and still maintain my 5.1 set up. Thank you in advance.

There was an older thread on this topic I replied to, but figured I'd start a new one if it wasn't seen. I have a pioneer elite pro-920hd plasma and I have recently purchased the sonos playbar only toi learn that its incompatible with the playbar and can't get sound when i run the digital optical cable from the playbar into the tv's optical audio output. Thinking about getting the Sub to add to my Playbase, and my 10 year old son asked me an interesting question: If you add the Sub, does it turn off the woofer in the Playbase? Guessing no, but can anyone verify?

When I try to change the beam to play my tv it takes about 5 minutes to pick up the sound. I try with different commands, using the app etc. This is the same when the TVs been off as well. I have a Samsung 8 series connected by hdmi arc.
