I am trying to get a decent plex streamer set up that will pass surround sound (i.e Dolby surround as I know Sonos can't cope with anything else) to my Sonos 5.1 set up but so far I've had mixed results.



PS4 does this but aac streams sound terrible

Sony TV does it but if the film is more than 1.5 hours long it crashes for some unknown reason.



Therefore would nvidia shield solve all my problems or would it simply add to the list of unsatisfactory solutions above?



Are there any other options (apart from trading in the Sonos equipment)?
