I have a Playbar and 2 Play 1's as surround speakers. I have a crackling / static sound periodically that comes from the left Play 1. I have run a diagnostic and the number is 1435055996. Please help me figure how to fix. I have had the set up for about 6 months with no issues. The wifi router is within about 3' from the playbar.

Have my Beam set up with my Sony Bravia tv via Arc, sounding great. If I then stream some music, I then can’t find how I revert back to the TV sound once the music is stopped, I’m having to turn the TV on and off to get the sound back. I bet I’m missing something obvious!

This is a fairly new Samsung TV and has the HDMI Arc port to which I connected a new Sonos Beam. Set up was simple and worked great. Until, the TV was turned off overnight. When turning on the TV in the morning, there appeared to be a conflict with the cable box in HDMI 1. I’ve tried everything form calling Comcast, getting a new cable box, doing several factory resets on the TV and patching Samsung through to my TV to ensure the ports were in good working condition. I swapped out the Arc connection in favor of the Optical adapter and it seems to be working now but that somewhat defeats the purpose for having the Beam and Alexa controlling the TV. Has anyone seen this happen or do you have any recommendations? Thx

I realize that this may not have to do with the Amp specifically, but you all are such a helpful community of audiophiles that I figured you'd probably know. I was trying to watch a Blu-ray whose audio output format is DTS-HD Master Audio. I have updated my Playstation Station 3 to a version that apparently can handle that audio format. Then I have told it to convert to DTS 5.1. It's set to output in Bitstream. When watching the video, the playstation's video info does indeed show the output as DTS. It used to say DTS-HD MA before I told the PS3 to down convert (?) to DTS 5.1. The PS3 is connected to a Vizio P-Series 55" LED TV (2018) via HDMI. And the Vizio is feeding my Sonos Amp via HDMI ARC. The Vizio is set to output digital audio as bitstream also. And according to this article: https://www.rtings.com/tv/tests/inputs/5-1-surround-audio-passthrough this TV is capable of passing through DTS audio over HDMI ARC. What remote is most compatible with my setup? I am about to purchase a Beam and 2 Play:1s for our family room. Ideally, I would like to use voice commands to turn the TV on/off, change channels, switch from UVerse to Netflix, pull up UVerse Guide, recordings, etc. I suspect Alexa won't be able to handle all of that so am looking for a single/universal remote to perform these functions, preferably without IR emitters running everywhere. My desired setup: On the wall Samsung QN75Q6FNAFXZA (HDMI connection to DVR) Sonos Beam ( HDMI ARC connection to TV) Closed Cabinet Uverse DVR IPH8010 (hardwired ethernet connection / HDMI to TV) Roku 4620X (data connection is wifi / HDMI connection to TV) Couch Sonos Play:1's (wifi) Is there a remote that works well without having to run IR emitters to every component? Does it play nice with Sonos? The DVR and Streaming Device will always be behind closed doors. I am open to buying firetvcube or fire stick if this helps.

Got a Beam. It sounds much thinner than my LG bar+sub that was 1/3 price 3 years ago. Quite disappointing really. I know it doesn’t have a sub, but considering it’s 3 times the price I’d expect it to be better. So now I need to either return it or bulk it up with a sub or 2x play:1. Which is better? I’m guessing the sub, but it seems even more overpriced than the beam. I could get 5 play:1’s for the price of one sub 😞

I have got the beam, sub and two ones as surrounds, but undecided on best way to set them up. What are people’s recommendations, wall mount just below the ceiling at the rear on each side, or use two floor stands at each side of the sofa? Appreciate it’s most likely to be personal choice, I’m personally think wall mount will look neater but will I lose sound experience not having them as close

When I share the audio from my Playbar TV input to others sonos products the audio cuts out intermittently. However, when I steam audio from an audio streaming service or another sonos device to my playbar there is no issue. The issue seems only to be "one way" and so I doubt this is a network connectivity issue.

I have a Sunbrite outdoor TV. I currently use DirectTV but want to go to a streaming service. The Sunbrite is not a smart TV. The audio for the outdoor TV currently uses RCA cables to connect the DirectTV box to the wired Sonos amp, which then is wired to the outdoor speakers. I'll have to use a firestick or such to get streaming video to the TV. The TV has a digital audio output jack but the sonos amp just has the RCA inputs. Any guidance on how to do this, preferably with existing components?

I have two Sonos one’s which I use as a paired set in the same room as a playbar and sub connected to a TV. I want to use the one’s independently as a pair (with Alexa) and occasionally use as a home theatre with the play bar and sub. Is there any other way to do this apart from grouping to get true home theatre?

My setup: Roku Ultra 4660 (2018 model) and Samsung UN65KS8000F with Playbar Roku connected via HDMI to Samsung's TV 'One Connect' From TV using optical out to Playbar Samsung states that TV will NOT process 5.1 through an HDMI input. HOWEVER... When I use Plex on the Roku - I get 5.1 on Sonos! When I have a DVD player going through HDMI, I also get 5.1 on Sonos. So it IS passing.... If I use Samsung Netflix App, I get 5,1. But If I use Roku Netflic App, I can only get Stereo. No matter how hard I try! So: Is Samsung incorrect when they say TV will not pass 5.1 when the input source is an external HDMI? Would the Roku Ultra 4640 (2016 Model) have passed 5.1 from netflix? Does a converter exist that can see ALL types of input and make it into 5.1? P.S. I have a Beam soundbar and 2 Play 1 speakers. Due to layout restrictions, I don't have the Play 1s set up as surround speakers but as a stereo pair in a seperate room. I have the two rooms grouped so that I get the TVs sound through the Play 1s in stereo as well as the Beam. The problem I have is that when I control the volume of the TV/Beam soundbar with the TVs remote it only changes the volume of the Beam and not the Play 1s as well. I have to use the Sonos app to adjust the Play 1s volume. How do I set the system up so that the Play 1s volume will be adjusted along with the Beam while using the TVs IR remote?

I have a beam setup in my living room and had two Play1s setup as surround. I had to move them, so they were unplugged and now they won’t reconnect. We plugged the Beam directly into the router via Ethernet, still no luck. I am getting a “Setup Incomplete error- check that the speakers are plugged to power and that the date and time settings on the device are correct.” I submitted diagnotic report 424563981.

Hi all....having a frustrating issue....the new Sonos Amp connected to Samsung t.v. through separately purchased Atlona adaptor to get t.v. audio through the Sonace speakers mounted in the ceiling. No sound. Everything is hard wired. We have the Atlona adaptor plugged into the HDMI Arc on the t.v. Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just set up my new Beam with my sky q box and tv, using the extension to the the hdmi cable so it fits in the optical port. My tv is a modern Samsung one but does not have arc. Can someone please tell me how to include my Samsung blu-ray player in this setup? At the moment, the only thing I can do is to take the hdmi lead back out of the sky q and put it into the blu Ray player. Surely, there must be a way around this. Any help appreciated

Will a Sonos surround sound system be compatible with an LG OLED65C8 TV. I have heard there are compatibility issues and that they audio will not sync with the video?

Hi, new to Sonos but loving it! I have a Beam and two Play 1’s in my Living Room setup. My question is about surround sound. It seems like most of the characters on TV speak via the Beam and not through the Plays on each side of the couch. What comes out of the Plays is mostly music and some effects. Often this overshadows the speaking which is then hard to hear. I’ve gone into advanced settings and played with the surround sound but doesn’t help much. I’m a bit confused by them too though. What is ‘TV level’ anyway? What about music as ambient or full? Does this mean these settings are only for my Plays? I also noticed in About My Sonos system, on the Beam I SOMETIMES see Dolby 5.1 but don’t see Dolby anything on the Plays. Is this normal? On my Samsung TV the sound settings are set to HDMI input, which is presumably my Beam. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Is it possible to use a PLAYBAR as a center channel with the AMP. I am imagining the following set-up: a. New AMP wired to front left and front right speakers. (I have two Rogers LS3/5a speakers.) b. SONOS PLAYBAR as the center front channel c. Set of 2 PLAY:1 speakers as the rear channel d. SONOS SUB as the subwoofer I already own everything except the AMP. So, I am wondering if I can improve my system to make real 5.1. Thanks

Surround sound works with tv & Netflix but not when music is played i.e music channels only the beam plays music. 2x play 1 Beam

I know that this is an age-old SONOS question. But, this is a new device and I am hoping. Can the new AMP handle DTS from my Blu-Ray player? Can the new AMP handle HDMI Audio: up to 7.1ch/192kHz PCM, up to 5.1ch DSD, Bitstream. This is from DVD-Audio and/or SACD player. (OPPO UDP-203) Thanks

Sonos CEO Patrick Spence, I bought my Play 5 because of the wonderful sound that comes out of it. I also bought it knowing at some point I would be buying a 65 inch 4K HDTV and knowing that I have this beautiful sounding speaker it would sound wonderful together. Just finding out today from your Customer Service that I can not hook up my Play 5 to my new TV ruined my holiday. They both (Rep and Supervisor) insisted I have to purchase Sonos other speakers to hook up my new TV with. Here I think I'm already to hear beautiful sound from my TV only to find out that I can't. I wouldn't have bought the Play 5 knowing this. Your website does not explain this. This is not the first time having problems with my Play 5. The first one was to find out I couldn't use Spotify unless I pay for their premium package and then I had trouble after we moved trying to hook up my Play 5 in the new house that you had to send me another one. I was never told what was wrong with my first one. I am a unhappy

The Sony works excellent passing through DD 5.1 I am able to get 5.1 through the the Apple TV 4K, ATT U-VERSE cable box, and the PS4 while video gaming. All peripherals are connected to the TV via HDMI while the Playbar uses optical out I haven’t tried blu-ray movies on the ps4 yet. The Sony is an excellent tv btw. Many feel it has a better picture than any oled because it is a FALD with a native 120-mhz panel. This setup makes SONOS worth it. Turn your surrounds to full volume in the app for music and tv, and you will have a killer surround sound system as part of your multi-room audio system.

My beam, sub and two play one speakers are playing music, but the remote is not working with the tv. I have configured the TV and connected the hdmi cable to the arc input on the tv. After configuring the remote, I go through the directions to relearn the new codes on the sonos home theater, but when I go to more tab, tab settings, Room settings, there is no beam listed from the list of rooms. Any suggestions, I have rechecked the remote and TV and it appears everything is properly setup. I also tried changing the HDMI cable.

Got the remote working with the Playbar but the Samsung screen is still popping up with “Samsung Optical” every time I adjust the volume. Very annoying. Is there a code or something I can do to prevent this?

New Playbase sounds horrid. I purchased this as an Xmas present for my parents and cannot believe something has been made and sold that sounds so bad. Usually I audition anything like this before purchase, but in this case needed to go with reviews and peoples opinion, as have been out of the country lately. Biggest problem is the centre channel sounds as if it is completely recessed back in the box, muffled, far to quiet and there is also some weird phasing going on that is very unpleasant. Not to mention the sibilant treble. Very Very disappointed in something that costs £550! I also got the Play:1's for surround but I have not bothered to unbox them yet. Have tried various sources - both TV, DVD and Tidal, with TruePlay enabled and disabled. They all exhibit the same issues.
