Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Trying to play music from Plex to my sonos. I get the following error message. - “Unable to play ‘song title’ - the connection to Plex was lost”I tried everything.I have the same problem if I use the app on my phone or my computer. I am able to play these songs through “Plexamp” - which makes me think it is a Sonos problem?My server is hosted on a Synology 718+.I have the same issue whether I am in the home network or outside (1 Gbit).Thanks for helping.

I have an existing AVR setup (with sonos connect as an input) and currently have lots of sources (e.g. sky, PS5, Switch etc.) running through the AVR then into my TV.I am adding a second system in another room, but would like to be able to use all of the same sources, via the AVR.I'm wondering if I can use the AVR's second HDMI output into a TV in another room, and then use the TV's eArc HDMI output into a Sonos Arc (along with era 300s and sub).This would allow me to use the AVR as a passthrough source for the TV with audio coming to the Arc via the TV.I cant see a reason why this shouldn't work, as as far as the Arc is concerned the AVR would in effect just be the TV's sources, but wanted to check if anyone else had done something similar before blowing a load of cash on it in vain!

I wonder if my Sonos will ever work again as well as it did before the update. It’s been a year and I grit my teeth every time I use it. Times out, doesn’t connect, drops components, sound glitches.

I was forced to change my wifi password. A plain, simple password change. No changes to the network as such.To no surprise, this did not go down very well with the Sonos system. Not able to handle at all. Components dropping out, lost, half of the stereo pair and so on. The default message: “An error occured”. Go figure.The solution: hard reset of all components connected wireless, followed by several reboots of router and components. Took me about four hours to get it all working again. Well, some sort of working. Still issues with sound randomly dropping.Needless to say I didn’t bother to contact support as they would have adviced what I already new: reset and reboot.One should assume a password change should be straightforward but no, no, not with Sonos. Unbelievable, but also not surprised. After more than a year (and still counting) after the Grand App Debacle getting used to this.

while I have a well controlled environment with my music library on a Synology NAS that works fine, I would like to have some insight about the repository on SONOS - in particular I would like to know how SONOS stores the index and on which devices (if not all) - I have a mixture of SONOS devices (Move, Beam, One, Five, Port, Amp, etc.) and would like to know if there are any good practices to follow to make the Music library update work faster  - many thanks in advance

Context: I use a Beam for our TV, and, in a separate “room”, two Fives and a sub for music. They’re in the same physical room but need two Sonos rooms to group them.Sometimes, for movie night, I want to temporarly have the sub join the TV beam. This involves moving the sub between rooms. Problem: Moving the sub loses the Trueplay settings. Not only is it quite time consuming (and loud) to restore, but the Trueplay process isn’t “exact” and sometimes the result isn’t as good, so I don’t want to re-do it when I have a great-sounding Trueplay.Feature Request: A possibility to either export/import trueplay settings, or to have the system automatically re-apply the ‘last known trueplay settings’ when the sub is moved back to its original group. I hope the team will take this into consideration. Thank you! 

Trying to connect a play one . I don’t have a cable. It just says device not found 

My Apple Music library playlist (rips of my CDs) came in as this gibberish mess. How do I fix it? The songs play fine but, I have a lot of playlists I would like to play. 

Group volume not synchronised so each speaker a pain to adjust to same level volume each time!  used to be able to zero main slider and realign all volume sliders that way but not working now! 

A pair of ONE speakers looses all sound when added to a group.I am streaming through WiiM box connected to line input on PORT. Grouping several components; couple of MOVE, PLAY1 etc. Normal operation. Until the two ONEs in the kitchen: no sound just some very low bass. Cross-check: the ONEs produce normal sound when streaming through Airplay or directly through services in the controller app, in single as well as in group.Can’t be any settings on the WiiM-box or PORT as sound level is normal on all other components.Suddenly, no recent changes. Other than a wifi password change couple of weeks ago that has turned out to be a pain. Sonos components are not able to handle a plain simple password change and had to reset the entire system several times.Yet another of those inscrutable Sonos issues? 

Sonos one not recognised by sky router but works fine with Ethernet cable. Microphone not illuminated.

Sonos Connect started to make  unstable stoppages during Spotify playbacks. I assume, it started roughly with the final software update... Please someone help!!!

I have this strange issues, that my Arc Ultra does not accept the Vol down command from my IR remote. It just won’t react.If I press Vol up, it reacts immediately (IR signal indicator and actually increasing the volume).After that, the Vol down button gets recognized, too. Almost as if the Arc Ultra’s IR receiver component goes in some kind of sleep mode and only gets woken up by the press of Vol Up.

Hello, hoping someone can assist. I have the Sonos Amp, 2 x in-wall speakers, 1 x Era 100 and 1 x FIVE. I use an RP1 turntable and stream music.I would like to add a pair of floor standing speakers. The ones I’m looking at are the Tekton Lore (8ohms).Is this possible? Any recommendations or thoughts? Thank you 

Can’t get speaker to produce sound. Not an issue of power or network. Other speaker works fine.why

I am trying to set up two Sonos Era 100 speakers using the new Sonos app (dark background), but both are showing the following error during the registration process:“There was a problem setting up. Our customer support team is ready to help.” I have already tried the following steps: Performed a full factory reset on both speakers (green flashing light). Restarted my router and mobile phone. Attempted to set up one speaker at a time. Confirmed that my phone is connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. I’m using only the new Sonos app and have uninstalled the S1 app.  Unfortunately, none of these steps have solved the issue. The speakers still appear as “Not registered” in the app. I suspect they may be associated with another Sonos account or there may be a firmware issue. I kindly request: Support to unlock or manually register the speakers.

AI postulates, that the “Play 5, Gen 1” can detect placement-direction (vertical/horisontal) - and adjusts according to that (mono/stereo). With the “Five” it is a YES!and the “Five” is physically built to be placed “In 3 directions”...BUT,The “Play 5, Gen 1” are NOT built to be anything but standing Horisontally!Yet, AI writes:  “Yes, the tweeters in the original Sonos Play:5 (gen 1) play separate left and right signals when the speaker is positioned horizontally for stereo sound.  When placed vertically, the speaker automatically switches to mono.” Since I have never yet owned nor listened to these speakers, then I ask you:“Is it bogus (as I conclude), what the AI do clearly write (/has been fed with) ?”

When, Oh WHEN will my Sonos app list my playlists alphabetically? They are already alphabetical in my Tidal streaming service. Surely this is possible?

Hi, new to the community and not much, but so far very good experience with Sonos.I am currently setting up a gelato/coffee/dessert Bar, and looking for a easy speaker solution. Doesn’t need to be ultra loud, just a good back-round sound.Ceiling is 3.60m high. Roughly 7 meter wide 9 meter long room. Most seating will go on the left side, while bar, coffee machine and gelato display will be on the right. Wondering if 2 x Era 300 would be enough and if a placement above the seating on the left (2m high) would be a good choice. Hope this makes sense, sorry for the poor picture… Any advice appreciated! 

Hello,I recently purchased 5 Sonos speakers. 2 Era 300, 2 Era 100 and a mini sub. I got them specifically to play music downstairs in our home.I have one room w/ an Era 100 and mini sub that about 50% of the time won’t play with the rest of the speakers. It’s always the era 100 and sometimes the mini sub, but sometimes the sub is ok. There’s no reasonable explanation for why. The speaker is < 6 feet from a wifi router. No other devices in the downstairs show any kind of wifi issues… ever. I have a 6GHz high end wifi router w/ additional hot spots in our home. Nobody in the house ever had Wifi issues w/ any kind of device.It’s also sitting right next to an Alexa, that never has issues playing or responding. To get it to work, I have to manually pull the power cable, wait for it to boot back up, go into the app and apply it to play on all rooms. It’s a pain.I’ve read online, and it seems’s there’s no reasonable solution here. Do I just return all
