Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I’ve seen lots of threads with issues with Sonos Radio HD, I’m surprised at how poor it seems to be.  I’ve just taken out a month free trial.  I have a playbase connected to 2 play 1s in surround sound using S2.  Often Sonos radio HD will randomly cut out for no reason then start again a few seconds later.  It’s not my system as I have Apple Music subscription set to highest quality and until recently used Spotify with the same set up. I’ve never had any issues with randomly cutting out mid track, but this is a constant theme with Sonos radio hd.  When I switch back to Apple Music via Sonos this never happens.  Like many people it seems to have been reported the second they switch from the standard Sonos radio to radio hd the cut outs start.  So there must be an issue with there streams/compression.  Also even when it works ok the I’ve noticed the sound quality is not remotely in the same ball park as Apple Music or Spotify.  I’ve also tried tidal in the last year and no cut outs is

So, as I’m waiting for the Arc Ultra to arrive, I stereo paired the Era300s and then added one Sub4.I then saw I was able to add the second Sub4 to the stereo pair.From what I read this shouldn’t be possible unless I had an Arc.And yet here I am, with a stereo pair of Era300s and two subs.A bug of the app? A new feature not documented?  

I currently have a Sonus Arc and Sub Gen3. At some point I am going to add my turntable using a Sonus Port. Before that I want to add surround sound by adding 2 x ERA 100’s on dedicated stands.My lounge room is  6.5mtrs x 3.5mtrs. My TV is wall mounted midway on the long side of the room, with the Sonus Arc mounted onto the base of TV wall bracket . My settee/listening point is opposite to the TV -so about 3mtr away from the soundbar. The Sub Gen3 is in the corner of the room to the right of the TV.Due to the layout of the room, the ERA 100’s can only be placed either side of the setee, either wall mounted or on stands. So one speaker will be no more than half a meter away from my head when sitting on the setee and the same for the person sitting next to me.I have two questions;1) Will I be able to use the ERA 100’s as surround speakers and as speakers when listening to music over Spotify? If not, what would I need to do to get the 100’s to work with Spotify

We have a very old Aiwa CX-77 stereo, for sentimental reasons SWMBO want let it go and it's currently sat doing nothing.I've had a look on the back and there are no pre-amp outputs, the only outputs are speaker connectors on the rear and large headphone output (yes it's that old).Because it has CD player and tape decks not it would be great to be able to use those too.So my question, is there any chance I can connect this to a Sonos. The CD player has a ribbon plug to connect it to the main body, however the turntable does have phono leads, so I'm figuring I could use that separately with a pre amp, but it would be really cool to get the whole thing connected (extra brownie points to play her dad's only CDs, tapes)Obviously the sound quality it's going to be brilliant with this old kit, but it would be nice to hear it.Thanks in advance

Good day,I have two Sonos Era 100. They both work fine individually when i connected them to my computer via bluetooth. However, when i paired them up as a stereo pair, the speaker that isn't connect to the PC keeps breaking up, and the one that is connected works perfectly. Same thing happens when i connect my Samsung phone to the stereo pair. I have also tried connecting Bluetooth to the other speaker and the problem persist in a reverse manner. The breaking is extremely frequent, about half or one full second every ten seconds. When i off the wifi the breaking is way worst.The two speakers are on either side of my 27 inch monitor and the computer is on the left side under the table. Bluetooth from the computer is a Bluetooth 5.0 dongle from TP Link. Mesh router is about 5.5meters (18 feet)  unblocked from my PC.I have no issues when streaming spotify from my phone.I have tried all of solutions i can find on the web, including power cycling on the speak

The bottom line: After you set up an SMB share as a music library, wait an hour. Problems go away.The details: I recently set up my Music Library (a samba share on a Linux server). Sonos connected to the library, scanned it without error, and I was able to browse the library just fine from the Sonos app. However, whenever I tried to play any files within the Sonos app, playback would fail with a variety of errors that changed from minute to minute (“Content is unavailable,” “Permission denied,” “Connection timed out”, etc.). Also, none of my album artwork was visible, even though it was stored in “folder.jpg” files for each album in a separate folder.An hour later, after making no changes, all the problems vanished. Album artwork was visible, and all files in the Music Library were playable in the Sonos app.Moral of the story: wait an hour after adding & scanning a Music Library. What’s Sonos doing during that hour? Beats me

Hi! My parents have given me their old Sonos playbase. I have the new Philips ambilight 4K TV which does not have the optical input. We bought an optical to HDMI adaptor and I have set up the playbase on the app, connected to the TV, changed settings on the TV so the audio should be coming out via HDMI but it is still coming out of the TV. When I press the volume the light flashes on the Sonos so it is all connected but just won’t play out of there. any advice? Thanks all!

Hi,Yesterday all the audio disappeared when watching tv and when using Spotify. I have only managed to get the Play:5 (Gen 1) to work, although the volume is modest and choppy. I have rebooted devices, etc. for hours now, but nothing has worked. Wifi connection is very ok so it connects to Sonos normally and I can see it plays the devices but the sounds are missing.i have moved many times and have always managed to install our old Sonos system. Never had a problem in years but my surround sound stopped working  Using playbar with two play:1 speakers done factory reset on all devices. can see the speakers individually in the app when not linked as surround sound but as soon as I add them as surround sound the two play:1 speakers disappear and say not connected in the app.  

I am starting to use my second Arc Ultra. The first arc was experiencing fuzzy sound. (like a fuzz box for an electric guitar) I returned it and got a new unit which doesn’t seem to have the fuzziness problem.Now when I’m listening to my new unit, I’m noticing that the left and right channel balance on the Arc seems to be skewed to the right. Vocals do not come from the center of the unit but more towards the right side. This is particularly noticeable when playing music. Either through the Sonos app or through the Apple Music app on the Apple TV Unit. Are other people are experiencing this?I wonder if it perhaps has something to do with the woofer speaker being overly active? (it’s located on the right side of the arc unit.)I have definitely run true tone on the set up. I recently changed my WiFi provider annd hadn’t used my speaker for a month or so. I am now unable to update my Sonos Play 3, it won’t find the new WiFi system. Can anyone help?

Hi everyone,I’m running into a volume balancing issue with my Sonos setup and I’m hoping for some guidance.Setup: Google TV / Google Streamer TV → Sonos Ray via optical Projector → Sonos Arc via HDMI eARC In both cases, I control the volume using the Google TV remote, which is correctly linked to the Sonos soundbar.The issue is that Google TV’s volume is already at maximum, so I have to increase the volume further in the Sonos app to get the TV sound loud enough. This works fine for TV and movies.However, this causes a problem when I start playing music or radio directly from Sonos (Spotify, radio streams, etc.). The volume is then much too loud, and I often have to quickly lower it to avoid being startled. This is especially annoying when grouping rooms (for example, when music is already playing in another room and I add a room with a soundbar).I’ve test

I have had my system for around 5 years. It has worked really well, especially loved when Sonos was linked with Calm. Recently, the SL in my office skips a beat every 10 or so seconds. I have only tested it in the following situation.I have the tv on in another room, I turn on the speaker in my office to play what is on the tv. The Beam and SL are connected to the same network (5G) and the router is approximately 10 metres away (same room as TV). Beam plays sound from the TV flawlessly. The office speaker skips a beat.I have turned off, unplugged, disconnected and reconnected the speaker. I have removed network and readded network. The whole house is nbn to the house.My fear is the system is getting old now but I also don't want that to be the solution. Does anyone have any ideas or more troubleshooting tips?

Whatever I do, I seem to get random surround speaker dropouts.These last a few seconds, occurring maybe every few minutes - whether I’m on TV audio or Sonos Sound System Radio which I assume rules out any TV related issues.I’m running an Arc Ultra with a Gen 3 sub and two Ones for surround. The TV Is a 5 year old LG.  Having started with a totally wireless setup, I’m currently trying the Ultra, the sub and the TV hardwired to the router, which is only about 3-4 metres from the Ones. All software is showing as updated. And I’ve lost count of the reboots performed.So, what can I try next?  Is it somehow an unresolved wifi issue between the Arc and the others, or could it be a gremlin in the actual Ultra, or…?I’m stumped, frustrated and right out of ideas! Any suggestions much appreciated.Thanks all. 

I have a surround sound system that uses 1 x beam gen 1ikea symfonisk table lamps gen 1 can I add a Sonos 5 gen 2 to the same system as a rear speaker.   thank you for your support 

Hi there,I’m running a stereo pair of Era 100s and running into a bit of a networking mystery. I’m hoping to get some clarity on why the speakers seem to prioritize 5GHz so aggressively, even when I don't want them to.Here is what I’ve experienced: * Originally, I had both units on 5GHz band. * I decided to switch to 2.4GHz, so I connected my phone to the 2.4GHz network and factory reset one speaker. After setup, it ended up on 5GHz again, not matching my phone's network band. * I then completely disabled 5GHz on my WiFi router, reset the speaker, and finally got it set up on 2.4GHz. But as soon as I turned the router's 5GHz band back on, the Era 100 immediately migrated back to 5GHz on its own.Is this intended behavior? It seems like the speaker is forcing a 5GHz connection regardless of my initial setup method. Any explanation would be appreciated.Thanks,

I have a bought a brand new Sonos move 2. When I opened it straight from the box and put it on charging for 2-3 days, (tried both the ways I.e. on the stand charging and charging with type C cable) I ensured that it was sufficiently charged, as at that time it was showing white and some times the orange/red light. Then in order to start my Sonos speaker and complete the setup I downloaded and logged in the Sonos app. Then via the app I connected my speaker with WiFi and initiated the system reset/software update for the speaker to start. After 5-10 mins when the entire process got completed, instead of receiving the notification of completion I received an error message on the app. Then from that point my Sonos move 2 speaker is not getting on or even showing any light of sign on life. I have tried all combinations of pressing the power button, Bluetooth button and putting in on and off charging, but I have not seen any light. Please help me, it is my first Sonos speaker and this is

HiHave a Sonos Beam Gen 2 and Sub Mini. This is connected to a Sony A8 OLED TV.Have run trueplay on the above on an apple phone.Have read that when watching films or tv that people listen with the volume level set at between 30% and 50%. I can honestly say that the highest level I ever have it is maybe 14% maximum. That's for tv or films.Granted , the room is only average size but would be greatful for any thoughts if the system is set up correctly. Thanks 

Several more Sonos releases have been and gone, and yet there seems to be no progress with restoring what should be basic functionality in the App which would greatly improve the User Experience:Still cannot save the current Queue to a playlist. Such a basic feature.  The Sonos Windows App can do this, as can third party Apps. Why do Sonos think this should not be included in the IOS App? After playing a radio station still cannot revert back to playing the current loaded queue with the App.  Again easily done in the Windows App and third party Apps.  Would it be so difficult to add a button to the now playing screen to get back to the queue? Alarms can be created, switched on and off - but once created they cannot be deleted?I think Sonos would be better off spending their time restoring some of these simple User Interface issues, rather than seemingly concentrating on secondary issues such as controlling Hue lighting via Sonos vo

I have set all delays to zero on both TV and Sonos. I have set TV to Pass-Thru.  I don’t know what else to do to get rid of sound delay. 

I’m at my wits’ end.    About three months ago my Sonos speakers started disappearing from my app one at a time.   I have about 20 total and now I’m down to three that I can see in the app.    To save everyone’s time responding:No, I did not change my network equipment.    Yes, I have rebooted my modem and router.    Yes, I have reset the controller.    Yes, I have wired one device by ethernet.    Yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my phone.    Yes, I have factory reset multiple devices.   When they reboot the app will have a pop-up that says “Add Sonos:1” (or whatever type of speaker I may be trying to add).    When I click through that it ultimately says, “We couldn’t find any Sonos products on your mobile device’s network so we can’t set up your Play:1.   So the app can see that the speaker is there and ready to be setup upon reboot, but then it won’t work.    So now every speaker that I’ve factory reset and

I have an LG WebOS 55UP8000PUR tv running WebOS 653-47 and the amazon prime video app installed on the tv most current version. regardless of the title selected I am only getting Dolby multi channel PCM 2.0 audio output, no dolby 5.1 or Atmos. My Sonos Arc is conncted to the TV via the EARC port, which is enabled. Digital audio output is set to passthrough. Other TV apps like Peacock will play in other formats depending on the title selected. My Panasonic 4K player will play in Atmos or 5.1, again depending on the title format. My ARC is paired with 2 ERA 300’s and a sub.  I have talked with Amazon support, LG support and Sonos support and each tells me the issue is with one or more of the other products… If I understand correctly the Sonos support said someting about Prime using a Atmos 2.0 vs Atmos 5.0 codec? and this could be what it is not working… I am unsure how to proceed? Dolby atmos or Dolby 5.1 had worked previously with hPrime and I am unsure what changed.

My home entertainment equipment includes LG OLED TV, Sonos Arc Ultra and 2 ERA 100 speakers.  My wife is struggling with hearing issues and has Philips HearLink hearing aids.  Philips has a TV adapter that provides a wireless signal to the hearing aids and works pretty well.The adapter can source content via RCA or TOSLINK optical. I originally thought a Sonos AMP would provide linkage for the hearing aid adapter.  It did for Sonos Radio and anything accessed through the Arc Ultra, but not through the TV.I think I have concluded a HDMI audio extractor is the solution.  My expectations are that it would pass through ARC/eARC audio via HDMI and RCA or TOSLINK optical audio simultaneously.Has anyone experienced a similar situation or have recommendations?
