Is anyone having problem with Apple Music Recently Added? I'm getting Something went wrong
Hi as per title - Is anyone having problem with Apple Music Recently Added? I'm getting Something went wrong. Try again.
I normally use this ‘feature’ a lot I add new music in Apple Music app and then switch to Sonos to play it. I’ve been away a few days and just got back and I’m now getting this error. Everything else is OK. I tried removing and re adding service but same error. I’ve log the problem with Sonos support. Thanks

I am seeing this as well, it’s not just you. Recently added is not loading.
Same for me. I’ve tried all the normal steps eg re-authorise, delete and re-install, without success
I’ve contacted SONOS Support who accept there is a general problem which they are trying to fix
Yes, Sonos Radio also fails for me, but iHeartRadio is working. Not seeing the new features either.
My music library took over 4 minutes to populate and individual folders are sometimes glitching, all the issues are giving generic "Something went wrong" messages.
This looks like another botched app update... 😢

Would be great if this was front and center in the Community page, thanks for posting about it.

Thanks for doing the ‘dirty work’, as of this morning I'm experiencing this problem as well. Let’s see how soon this is solved, luckily you can still browse and search for (Apple) music.
Rather than,
Oops something went wrong try again
it reads
Oops we screwed up again and are busily trying to fix this one for our dedicated users. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Hard to wrap my head around why a few days ago Recently Added just stops working. Hopefully it won’t take three months for the fix.
This looks like the problem my system has developed, see

As a very simple workaround, use Apple Music App to find your recently added item, long press/right click, and Add to PlayList, create a new Apple Music PlayList say ‘Sonos RA’ (Recently Added). Pin that Playlist on the Sonos App home page as a favourite. Job done.
Same problem for me as well. Recently added not working after updating to ios26
Same problem here! Just add it to the Sonos problem pile. I’m so ready to get off this boat.

I’m now using ‘Favorite’ (star the song in Apple Music).
then go to Sonos app → Your Service → Apple Music → Playlist→ Favourite Songs → [。。。] → save to Sonos Favorites
Go back to Sonos app, you can find Favorite playlist
Same here - very annoying as it’s the only part I use - having to use AirPlay at the moment

Airplay1 or 2’s quality is not the best
I agree absolutely, never normally use it!
To All
I tried accessing “Recently Added” on the iOS Mobile App and MacOS Desktop App and the results were the same. Typically both Apps don’t exhibit the same issues for 3rd party apps as the operating systems handle them slightly differently.
This IMO closely resembles a possible change in the Apple Music API that Sonos hasn’t discovered. Not saying that Sonos isn’t going to most likely have to remedy the issue; but the origins don’t appear to be on the Sonos side of things (directly). I could be wrong.
Hopefully, a Mod will see this thread next week and possibly chime in. 🤞
What is the ETA on the solution? No way it takes this long; infrastructure and engineers are horrible. I’m switching to Denon - Heos soon as I move.

@scbrinis
I suggest you read my post again. There was no mention of an impending solution by Sonos. Everything mentioned was MY OPINION based upon my experiences. Do you think I work for Sonos in some capacity? I’m just another Sonos user as you are. If this IMO minor glitch in the app is going to cause you to ditch Sonos you obviously have other issues with Sonos that need to be discussed.
How does one give an ETA on fixing a bug? You need to be able to reproduce it, do the research as to what may be causing it, figure out a way to rewrite the code to ‘fix’ it, get it looked at to figure out if it actually ‘fixes’ the issue, check to see that the ‘fix’ doesn’t break anything else, test it again, then release it to QA for their testing, then release it to a beta group for further testing, then figure out where it fits in the production release schedule.
Teams that I’ve worked on wouldn’t be able to estimate all that.
And that presumes two things, first, that it’s a Sonos bug, and actually a bug. If it’s an Apple bug, there are several more considerations, including how important Apple feels about working on code that serves a tiny percentage of their user base, amongst others.
How does one give an ETA on fixing a bug?
After Sonos overhauled their app in May 2024 and introduced major issues, they did a decent job of communicating planned fixes through their blog and Reddit updates. Since many bugs still remain, it might be wise for them to return to that transparent approach.
Agreed, although those weren’t bugs, just uncompleted work. Knowns, not unknowns.
Hello @speedyuk and everyone,
I am sorry to hear you are unable to initiate playback or view the Recently Added list of Apple Music via the Sonos App.
We have informed our partners in Apple Music and are currently working together for a fix, but we have no ETA to share.
As a temporary workaround you can AirPlay to your Sonos speakers.
I will reply on this thread with an update, as soon as I get one.
I hope this helps.

Or use create a playlist from recently played in Apple Music App and play that from Sonos App.

Hi Sotiris, Thanks for the reply. Just to confirm as per original post the only ‘feature’ that is not working is the population of the Apple Music ‘Recently Added’ List. Apple Music Playback via Sonos is working fine (and lossless). There is no way I would resort to using AirPlay ;). I highly suspect there has been some minor change on the Apple Music API end that has broken the Sonos integration - lets hope you can get it sorted by the time I get from my next holiday in a week or so time :)
There was a system update and also an iOS app update but the problem remains…
