Why can’t you control Sonos from more than control?

Our entire home is filled with Gen 1 speakers that we run on the Sonos 1 app on our phones, as well as on my laptop.  My husband bought a Roam, not realizing it’s not compatible with the rest of our system. What’s the easiest way to initialize the Roam and use it simply as a bluetooth speaker that we can pair with other audio from our phones, independently of requiring the Sonos 2 app?  Hoping I make sense and thanks in advance!

We invested heavily in Sonos for our home - and frankly spoke highly of it to others. I have used your competitor C4 previously and wasn’t thrilled with its performance and found Sonos to be way more user friendly. Since the release this spring, we have no functioning system - and have contacted Sonos support to no help.  Basically we are being told we need to upgrade our network and all amps that was brand new in 2018!!? That’s insane. And you’re loosing business now to future customers who will not buy your products again because we don’t trust you won’t do this again? You need to earn back your customers by offering them a solution rather than just telling them to upgrade all their components again. Brutal - if Sonos is reading this hopefully, you’ll do something to right this wrong so customers can trust your brand.  

I have multiple alarms set to play music on my Sonos Move. All function as programmed but one. When the time for the alarm happens, the chimes play instead of the music. I have tried different music, changing the time by a minute, deleting the alarm and re entering an alarm; but it always plays the chimes instead of the music. Only for the 9:00 am alarm! I have the latest App upgrade. Any ideas?

I have 10 pairs of Polk Audio RC80i in my home, powered by 2 Sonos Amps and connected to a Sonos Port. When I stream music via Android’s YT Music directly to a Chromecast Audio that has as 3.5mm adapter to the Sonos Port’s Line-In, there are 2 major issues. (I don’t use YT Music integrated into the Sonos App because of latency and difficulty in navigating music)(1) I seem to get ads on my YT Premium stream (have a ticket with Google about this(2) Rather commonly, my music will cut out for what can be 10-30+ seconds at a time.This has mostly happened when playing my Zen playlist at very low volumes, but I’m not sure if this issue is part of the whole S2 debacle. I run a lot of Ubiquiti gear for my home network, but there’s no device/traffic-specific settings I’ve applied there in.Ideas?

  I paid over 18k to have this system installed.  I have tried all your suggestions. They don’t work.   The Boost which costs $188.00cdn doesn’t work with your updated app, so I have 30ft of ethernet cable running from two controllers as well as the sub.  Music drops all the time, volume controls are erratic and hijack the playbar, turns on the TV and all speakers engage, at one point the volume was on warp volume, took 2 hours to fix.   Everyday I spend at least 15-20 minutes sorting our the system.  Rebooting, unplugging, restarting, signing in, signing out. It takes Sonos over 10 days to respond to email, 55m on hold to get help. If I want to purchase more equipment (have to be nuts), call is answered immediatlu.   Now all I want to know is who is the competition so I can rip all of this worthless equipment out and start over.   Your CEO should be canned and anyone that worked on this update.  I am not expecting any response or help as your past performance speaks volumes (maybe not

I honestly thought it was non techy head that was at fault - but reading some of these comments restores my sanity.I think I've got such a simple set up - just a speaker, turntable and port.  Every time I want to switch between radio to turntable I have to do a minimum of 3 steps and check that the port is still ticked, get Line-in etc. I feel like I should just shout at the speaker 'the turntables on' .  It shouldn't be this hard.

I had 2 Sonos Play Ones grouped and as a stereo pair along with 2 Ones SL and a sub.  After the “upgrade” app the ones no longer play with the group and says they’re not connected?  This is an upgrade?  I have to manually hit the play button every time I want those speakers to rejoin the group?  I also have 2 Play Ones for rear surround speakers grouped with an arc and a sub. Those have no issues for now and are still grouped with the Arc and sub.  What is going on with this “upgrade”?

Hi, this morning I find my Beam gen2 flashing white light on top of the soundbar, after unplugging it and turning it back on it still not working I decided to try a factory reset.  Unfortunately nothing changes when I hold the infinity button and re plugged the beam.I submit a diagnosis * and now I’m waiting for Monday to call the customer service.Any suggestion?Thank you all!*Moderator Note: removed diagnostic number.*

Ich habe eine playbar an einem LG TV. Bei manchen Filmen, aus Netflix etc. habe ich bei manchen Szenen ein starkes rauschen und knistern. Das ist so störend, dass wir den Film ausmachen. Das ist nur beim streamen und nur bei manchen Filmen. Was kann man tun?

In the Sonos Windows app, where does Manage > Add Radio Station save? It says it will save to TuneIn My Radio Stations but there is no such category. I am entering stations and names and they don’t appear anywhere.All apps are on the latest version.

I am unable to put data on my NAS device, but still there are many spaces...

The current version of the Sonia app is really awful! Speakers take ages to link the volume control has a mind of its own doesn’t recognise the source playing as it’s blank despite playing a specific radio station! Several months ago the App was great now it’s totally useless and frustrating! If it’s not broken don’t fix it!! 

I have an arc connected to my tv and two era 300 speakers as well. they are all connected as surround and works perfect. My question is that i have someone coming to play at an event at my home and they are bringing a Bose Bluetooth enabled speaker with an allen and roth amp. NOT in a place that I can connect a direct cable to the sonos , so the question is how do i play the music from the live performer into my sonos sytem without connecting a direct cable and what would need? I AM NOT electronic savy at all so please have some grace when you reply so that i can fully understand my solution, what i need to buy and how to set it up. Thanks to anyone that can assist me 

I have a Sonos Play 5 Second Generation, well, I have two actually.I have downloaded the Sonos app, the plain black one, S2 I believe, but these speakers won’t connect or work with it. They worked fine on the grey S1 app, but I now have YouTube Music and the S1 app does not support it so I’ve trashed the S1 app from my iPHone and have S2, plain black icon, app now. But they won’t connect.I’ve unplugged one of Play 5 Second Gen speakers and held button on back while booting it up until I get orange flashing light and gone through the app to connect, nothing, it fails. So I tried it again with Ethernet connected to my rougher and Play 5 and that worked, but as soon as I disconnect the Ethernet cable it all goes tits up and the app wants me to set up new system from scratch again. WTF is going on?  

Is there a way to speed up playback speed of Audible through my Sonos system? I have tried if both from the Sonos App and the Audible app casting via AirPlay 2 - neither works.  When I do it in the Audible app, it shows higher speeds, but is just playing at 1x.  This makes it UNUSABLE for me on any of my 20+ Sonos devices - high multiple thousands of dollars of equipment just useless.  please let me know how to solve, or if not this should be a high priority feature - it’s just shocking to me that I can’t do it, the first true disappointment I’ve had from Sonos.  

I received an email from Sonos apologizing for releasing a bad app so I decided not to upgrade but then Sonos forced the upgrade and rendered a large investment of 10 Sonos speakers useless.   How is this possible that Sonos was aware they had an issue that was corrupting systems and they then forced updates to wnumsure that no one is spared the agony.  The stupidity of this management team is mind boggling. I can’t imagine any current Sonos user will ever buy a Sonos product again. I know I will not.

Hi - I am installing 3 pairs of speakers 1) kitchen 2) great room 3) patio... I want to be able to play the same music on all, and also play music on 1 set only.  would never have different music on different speakers.  How many amps do i need?

How many wired speakers I can connect to one amp and if they can daisy chain. also. Do we need a Port for each amp?

My Arc (hw version 1.27.1.13-1.2) has been miserable with my LG C2 losing HDMI ARC and switching to TV Speaker, only to get back to HDMI ARC again in a bit. But I don’t think this is an ARC or CEC issue, as lately I realize that with the TV turned off, listening to music with the Sonos App or listening to my turntable via a Sonos Amp has a similar problem! The must stops and there’s no audio.Watching carefully, I can now see in both cases the Sonos app does not connect with the Arc, and the white light on the front of the Arc is blinking white. Is it rebooting? What could be causing it to reboot?

I see nowhere to update Music Library in any of update apps or web server.

How do I control sibilance more?  The EQ doesn’t take care of it.  I need a de esser installed.  Is there a software update for this?

Hi all - I know there has been terrible reports of the Sonos App and streaming issues.I’ve just purchased a pair of Sonos Roam 2 and paired for stereo.Randomly, I’ve experienced where the streaming just stops.I have to power cycle the units for them to show up and be able to stream music again.Just now, I had it happen - the left unit is slowly flashing amber LED, where the Right unit was still showing.In the sonos web app for streaming - the “cluster” of Roam speakers I was using to stream was gone.I checked via my Sonos App on my iPhone, and only the Right unit is connected - and the Left shows “not connected”.Is this part of the ongoing grief by Sonos? I’m debating about packaging these up and returning them.I will try a full reset on these and see if it occurs again.

When are you gonna fix your update??????
