Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I just spent hours, after discovering the music library capability has returned to the app, re-adding my music library on a synology NAS back to sonos. The whole process was hindered by a lack of proper instructions or error messages in the app. Let me save folks a lot of pain and give them the details:Go into your NAS and make sure SMB is enabled. Also, make sure SMB 1 is turned off and 2 and/or 3 are on. I found that even if 2-3 were on, if SMB 1 was still possible it mucked things up.  Go into advanced SMB and see if you can enable master browsing. This seemed to help sonos find the files I have music in later. Do not try to add your music library from the app on an iphone or ipad. It is too hard, and does not let you browse to the files. You need to key them in by hand, which is really irritating. Go into your PC (or MAC and do it there). Go into the add music library function. Use the browse function to find the music directory on the NAS you want to add. Note, if SMB 1 is active

This just started today 7/19/24 on the desktop controller, impacting all albums in my library with tracks by different artists. The album itself appears in the library once for each unique track artist (so some as many as 30 times) and within each album, the tracks are now sorted by artist instead of track number with no way to re-sort.

I own over a dozen active Sonos devices. In my online account (on sonos.com) one of those devices does not reflect the room rename I’ve done. It is listed as “Move” rather than the new name. Only one of my devices has this problem, which is a bit odd. On the local network, the rename was successful.Any ideas what’s preventing the rename from being reflected in my account?

I have 4 sonos amps with 4 seperate zones of speakers. How can I play different music from spotify account on each zone in the same buiding on same network?

The Saga continues……                                                                 My System consisted of 2- Play 5’s, 1- Connect Amp, 1-Play One, a Bridge, and 1- CR200 Controller… This had worked successfully for a many years and then recently I kept had intermittent  connection to the Play One….  and after the Help Desk had me switch to Wi-Fi (removing the bridge) all now works… except the CR200 Controller….  When S2 was introduced, I was told specifically that the CR200 MUST have the Bridge to operate as the 200 only has SonosNet.. and it did … until now.  It provided great convenience for us when it was used. I was thinking about getting another Bridge or Boost, but trying to find a working one may be a challenge. But now I’m reading contradictory threads of users who have successfully reintroduced the CR200 without a Bridge… and using S1, saying it only requires at least one of your Speakers be connected to your Router.If this is correct, I would really like that confirmation,

I have just bought a Sonos beam gen 2 and went to download the Sonos app but it would not allow the app to be installed  because the iOS on my old iPhone 6s Plus can only go up to 15.8.3 and no higher.The Sonos app requires iOS 16 or above! What can I do? I don’t want to buy a new phone just to get an app. I have a pc with windows 10 could I download the app on the pc?

I had to change my router today. I tried to reconnect my system to the new router but the app is only finding one out of 10 speakers and will not let me proceed. One Symfonisk picture frame speaker (one of a stereo pair) is connected,  the app states it is one of a stereo pair but only one is showing on the app. 

I have tried this a few times but no luck. Search for an artist, for example Johann Sebastian Bach. Get to artist page in say Qobuz, select “add as Sonos favorite” then navigate to Sonos favorites and no sign of Mr Bach, in fact no section for artist faves? 

Why are these icons disabled and how do I get rid of them? 

Why do I need to install the Apple Music app on my iPad to authorize Apple Music in the Sonos app? After uninstalling AM from my iPad, AM on Sonos stops working, and after removing AM from Sonos, it cannot be reauthorized.Ipad Pro 24 controller, 2xEra 300 speakers, all connected to the Internet via Ethernet.

I have a very complete sonos system, which consists of an Arc sound bar, a subwoofer and two One speakers for the TV room and a Sonos Move speaker. It has worked very well for a long time, but since I installed an Asus Wifi 6 Mesh system, only Sonos has problems. Everything works perfectly except Sonos. I have to turn off the router every week to get it to work again and it is a real desperation since it coincides with when I feel like watching TV relaxing when I get home. I turn off the router, wait five minutes for the Internet to pick up, and my five Mesh nodes to dock, and everything works again for another week. I have been complaining about this problem for a long time and there is no solution. I won't buy another Sonos product until this is fixed.

Hello, can I ask for any answers to be given in idiot speak please, thanks. For the last decade I’ve been using a play 5 1st gen speaker connected by a cable from line in to a DAC box, with an optical cable from the DAC to the TV on all tv’s we used in the lounge. The play 5 has now been swapped out with an Era 100 using the same connection method as before. I used an apple adapter into the speaker without success and am now awaiting the delivery of the Sonos adapter.I’m hoping this will work.  Any advice would welcome, like do I still need to use the DAC box or is there any other equipment I may need? Thanks for reading J

I have an LG Oled TV with a Humax Freesat box, Sonos Gen 2 playbar, sub & 2 surrounds, this last week, I have had to turn the Humax sound virtually full power to get a decent sound, the TV itself & any music apps I use are fine are still fine, the sound bar on my mobile through Sonos app is on 95 when I turn the remote up for the Humax. I have turned off & taken plugs out for all, but is making no difference, also I unplugged the cables on the back of the Humax box to see if that would help.

Hello, For exemple, I created a new playlist in the App Apple Music and I can’t see it in Sonos app. Another problem, newly added songs in my library Apple Music app don’t appear in the recently added section in Sonos app. Neither do they appear to be in my library in the research section.It seems to me that this problem started this morning.  Are others experiencing the same thing ?

Currently on Mac OS Version 16.2 and controller is telling me there is an update. Those of us on a Mac know the Mac updater from the software hasn’t worked for a number of years and update has to be done manually - Not a big deal. The filename is “Sonos_79.1-53290.dmg” However I cannot find any release notes for this and given the complete horlicks Sonos have made of recent software releases obviously I’m reluctant to run this in fear of further borking the system. Can anybody shed light on what this update does and should I do it?I recently sold my old NAS and installed a new Synology NAS which Sonos can see and play music from. I’d be a very unhappy bunny if Sonos broke this again.Thanks in advance

Will the Sonos port send a wireless signal to Era 100 speakers from receiver?

I do not know why Sonos has done with the latest updates on the S2 app but they have lol but ruin a perfect thing I have loved for many years.  Lately,  when I add a new playlist i. apple misic, it doesn’t show up in the sonos’s app.   Also when I change the order of playlist in apple music, it still shows up in the old order in the sonos app.  This is the most frustrating thing EVER!!! I have completely delete apple music service and re-added it multiple times, spent hours looking for settings that might affect this in both apple music and sonos app and Sonos has just simply stopped syncing changes that are made in apple music.  I have touted Sonos as my favorite large purchase for years and i am now VERY unhappy with it.   Does anyone have any suggestions?     

Why is Apple Music so unstable when streaming through Sonos? 

My Play 1 works well with ethernet hook up with EERO wifi router.  But will not link to wifi.   When I try to connect it searches products and does not find my Play 1 .   Any wifi compatibility issues with EERO mesh system?  Thx

Hi all. I have Plex setup and working to play music on my Sonos. But the only options are to sort by album or artist etc.I have a few mp3’s in a specific folder and for the life of me cannot figure out how to play those specific mp3’s from that specific folder.The Plex app itself does allow access to specific folders but it seems the Sonos app doesn’t.Or am I missing something?

I’m trying to set up a Connect (Gen1), but as soon as it’s plugged in the light flashes white - and not the usual slightly leisurely on/ off white blinking, but fast flashing white. Hard reset routine does nothing, and the suggestion is it’s not booting. Is it kaput/ time for the bin? 

I have a problem to add Radiosparx in Sonos app. It asks to login for Radiosparx and all works well. But error comes after returning to Sonos app. It tells something gone wrong and try again.

Music stops playing on my Sonos One after a few minutes. The Sonos app on my iPad show music is playing. But the speaker is silent. I can open Apple Music app and AirPlay music to it. What’s going on there. Strange things like failure to connect have been common. I’ve tried to be patient, but frankly this is stupid.
