Hello. It looks like the Sonos App for iOS has lost its capability to provide the numerical battery percentage information. I am on the latest version (version 80.11.51). I see the percentages on the Sonos App for Android. Therefore this problem seems to be unique to the iOS app.

The percentages used to be displayed even couple of weeks back, so it seems to be a bug added to the code in the latest iteration. I guess it keeps the developers busy :)

Anyone else seen this issue? If yes, is there a fix in work?

I don’t see percentages either on my Move 2 or Roam. But I do see a separate “Status” that shows the battery percentage for the Ace.

I would hope Sonos will bring this feature back as battery percentage is the most basic information that should be provided on an app that is designed to control a rechargeable, battery-powered device.

I see it for my Roam, but I have to go in to System Settings, and look at the Room. Not sure if it shows a percentage, though, I appear to be ‘full’. This is using iOS 18.1 (several devices), and the 80.11.51 release controller.

Right…The battery level is shown as icons but to judge how long I have before I need to put the device on the charger. In the previous version, it used to show up with a number. For example, 8% left. On the Android app I still get the number.

Of course this is a bug of the latest iOS app. I exactly can confirm what you described.
I reported the issue to Sonos support and recommend also to do so though they already should be aware of it.
Btw I would be more happy, if they don’t just bring it back to status but also add percentage info to playback view like it was with the old S2 app.

Battery percentage returns in today’s iOS update.

Found it (took some digging), under System Settings / (Room name with Roam in it) / Products (Roam).

I suspect the OP isn’t wanting to delve quite so deeply every time.

I don’t think anyone wants to delve so deep, but it is what it is.

Not like S2 where all portable battery percentages were immediately visible under System, but UX not high on the agenda with the new app.

Or perhaps the person whose responsibility is User Experience has different opinions than we do.

Or, perhaps, different priorities. It might be on the list, just not as important as other issues.

I’ve yet to see any comment praising the current implementation.

True, it’s only been 6mths…

Its ridiculously buried. Its one click in my iOS app:

Phonos Plus showing battery percentage on Sonos Roam

Battery percentage is not showing in my latest update to the app, It is not, as some posters above have claimed, under System Settings / (Room name with Roam in it) / Products (Roam), possibly because my Roam is not part of a room system, it roams. It appears as its own “room” in my system, and where Roam SL is listed under Products, the only battery info is the inadequate tiny icon that basically only tells you if you’re above or below 50%.

This issue appeared with my latest app update, performed on 8 Nov 2024 to v. 80.11.51.

It was far better when the % information appeared in the playback view, as it was before the disastrous app rollout earlier this year. Seems like it must have been a conscious decision by the app designers to remove the information. Misguided, IMO.

I recognize this is a small complaint compared to all the other problems with the app that some people still seem to be having.

Update and retraction. I wrote the above before seeing @Mr. T ‘s post saying battery percentage has returned with latest update just performed (v. 80.11.52). It is now one layer deeper in settings than previous, and way deeper than it was a year ago, but it’s there, as described: System Settings / (Room name with Roam in it) / Products (Roam).

Thanks!

The latest version for iOS did fix the problem. Yay!!

I’d like to see it on the Now Playing screen right next to the battery icon.
