Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

My beam gen 2 is less than a year old and apart from initial connection issues at the start it has been working fine since. However I unplugged the beam to change the TV wall mount and since then it's not working at all. There are times it just starts working itself if left connected but then cuts out randomly or the remote stops working. I have tried disconnecting/reconnecting a number of times. Turning settings off and on again. Running the set up through the Sono app. None has worked. Running the set up on the app now says it can't locate the arc connection. It's 100% in the right hdmi port. I'm at loss of what to do next other than get rid of the bloody thing and buy a different one. My TV is LG C2, I'm using the hdmi cable provided with the beam. Any help will be massively appreciated please.

I have a Sonos One Gen 2 speaker. Worked fine since i got it Christmas 2022. We moved house recently and I cannot get it set up on the new WiFi.I have tried factory reset.I can get it to the point where it connects to the speaker by phone, plays the chime and then asks for the wifi password. it will not pass this point, its as if the password is incorrect.i have tried connecting directly to router via ethernet cable. no joy. I appreciate any help, thanks.

I cannot get my Roam and Pay:1 to group. When I try to group them it says “Unable to group, try again later”. What gives? I updated the Sonos app and the Spotify app. Both speakers are connected to my wifi. Very frustrating. This used to work. 

I have had Sonos since ZP100 and have loved it, advocated for it and been a bit of a Sonos evangelist among our friends. I have seen how the reliability of the ecosystem has been reverse proportional with the number of introduced features. It was a hit to the loyalty when they in 2020 broke the backwards compatibility and forced everyone to buy new units. However, the improved sound experience justified this. But with the introduction of the new app, there is no longer justification for me to recommend the system. It is unbelievable how many bugs were introduced. 6 months in I still have a MUCH less stable and responsive system than I had before May 2024. Just unbelievably unsatisfactory.I wish Sonos would try to get back to what it originally was - a high quality product with  high quality sound wrapped in high quality UX. I can honestly say that the first and last aspects are no longer existent. 

Hello, I have my old Playbase & one surrounds connected to my PC via optical cable to audio adapter. So optical cable from Playbase to adapter, then adapter connected to pc via USB. Everything was working great until updates last week. Windows 11 updated as did Sonos and now no sound from speakers. I contacted Sonos support and got this answer saying I basically screwed and it will no longer work. I’m new to this so thought I’d check here to see if people agree before bailing on my Sonos. I’m using curved monitor that does not have optical cable connection. I’ve tried to connect via wifi and my computer sees the Sonos but won’t play sound.  Any help would be appreciated  

I have been using TuneIn on the S1 app for years. Today it has stopped loading WUNC. I have tried to add/use Sonos Radio but it fails there too. I also tried to remove and re-add TuneIn, but that didn’t fix it. I tried another station that did work.What’s confusing is that I never created a TuneIn account. I assume that way back in the day, Sonos had some auto-Tunein-login agreement. I did sign up for TuneIn using GMail just now, but there’s no option to use those credentials in S1. When I re-add TuneIn, the S1 app just automatically does it without asking me for a username.BTW WUNC does work on the TuneIn browser page using me new account.It’s driving me crazy. Do I need to reboot something? It worked yesterday!

After the last update my optical connection with my video projector doesn’t work any more. The assistance says that the problem didn’t came from the update, but everything works fine until now. Very disappointed about the support and the fact we can not downgrade to solve a bug they made.

I’m a Sonos novice.Using a setup with three zones.  That part seems to be working fine.However, I’d like to add one non-standard setup through the HDMI AMP input (RCA already works for this setup, but 75ms latency is too long, so not an option).  I’ve seen the digital/HDMI input is supposed to be much lower latency.I want to be able to speak/sing into a microphone and have it amplified through that HDMI input.  Not loud, just maybe 70-75db range.  I connect a microphone to a Zoom U44.  Then I take its optical output, use the Sonos optical to HDMI converter (with an additional HDMI 2.1 cable) and go into the Sonos AMP.  Getting no sound, unfortunately.I believe the Zoom is outputting audio when trying this method because when I connect it’s digital output to an entirely different system it’s working fine.I know this idea may seem like more trouble than it’s worth, but would like to be able to test out and find out for myself if this can do wh

I can no longer get any sound from my TV on my Sonos ARC since the app update. I can play music but nothing from the TV. It illustrates that sound is coming through but I can hear nothing. Any ideas

For three years I have successfully used an ensemble consisting of Beam and two Play1s to play back my PC sound. This is done via an external sound card (SPDIF) and a TOSLINK cable connected to it. A few days ago the sound stopped completely! I suspect a connection with the recent SONOS controller update, the second suspect is Microsoft. I spent a total of three full days trying to find a solution - in vain. My great frustration is mixed with despair.Here are some pieces of the puzzle from my search so far:It is a Windows 11 PC.A second Windows 11 PC shows the same failure.Sound signals are displayed graphically.Connecting an Android tablet to the TOSLINK cable: music plays!New external sound card does not help on both PCs.Does anyone have a brilliant idea?Here are some screenshots for illustration.

I’ve had a Sonos Beam for several years, hooked up to a system to allow me to play output from my computer. This required a bit of tinkering to get right! I had to:Buy a device that converts USB → SPDIF Get a SPDIF → HDMI converter Connect all that up so that I had USB → SPDIF → HDMI → HDMI into the BeamSince getting that sorted it has worked great! Until yesterday, when suddenly I could no longer get any audio through this setup :(. Hi, I was using Sonos Ray as computer speakers via soundcard with digital optical output. Everything worked fine until few days ago when Ray no more sees the digital input. The app TV Setup says No signal detected. The digital input works otherwise OK with another device instead Ray.I have spent almost entire day on the Sonos help line, but in the end they told me they never intended Ray to be used with PC and that it is my problem I bought it and that maybe they changed something so now it doesnt work. This is actually not true, they mention usage with PC on their website: “For a next-level gaming setup, connect your PC.” on https://www.sonos.com/en/shop/ray. Do you have any ideas how to possibly fix this without the Sonos helpline help?What I tried already: - factory reset the Ray - connect the optical cable to another device - it works

My SONOS app has defaulted to SPDIF for the audio output from my iMac - it used to be PCM - Stereo - the result is that it no longer works on my Playbar…. HELP

HelloYesterday I reset my router and at first only the Sub mini lost connection. Soon after some minutes the whole entertainment section was not connected. After spending 2 hours I reset and rebooted everything  multiple times. I was able to reconnect everything.However I am still not able to add the Surrounds “there was a problem adding your surrounds” I have tried all the recommendations so far nothing has worked,

This morning I went to play music within my house, and all the components do not exist. When I try to add them, it’s looking for a pin that does not exist on many of the components. When I try to add a component with a pin, system will not save it. There are over 50 devices that were in my system. 

For a long while music library sharing has been a problem.   I have just downloaded and installed the latest update but am still unable to  get access to my library.   Should this still be the case or am I going about it rh wrong way?

Hi,i did a reset on my router and now my two gen 1 speakers are showing offline and i cannot reconnect them or find my system on the sonos app?

Why is the ray soundbar so low in volume? How is this a soundbar when my TV gets louder than this I’m so disappointed! Do I need to buy additional speakers or is it even worth it? Should I just send it back and buy something else???

Hello. I bought a new TV. TCL 75" mini led. My old tv worked with my sonos but the new tcl doesn't. I have Playbar, Sub and one. When I plug in my optical cable from TV to playbar, and want to add the new remote to sonos, sonos won't accept it. So I can't turn the volume up and down. Is there any way to give the remote control a new IR frequency, or do something else?

After being told to do a factory reset by Sonos support, I am left with two problems.  Firstly, prior to reset if the Beam was muted (green light) and I adjusted the volume on my Humax remote, it would automatically unmute. Now it does not.Secondly ….what would I lose if I downgraded the Beam to S1? TIA

I have a Sonos Connect playing through my home theatre.  I can use the S1 App but usually just use Spotify.  Suddenly it no longer appears in my Spotify Connect list on devices on the same Wifi network.  This has been operating fine for 8 years.  I can use Spotify in the S1 Sonos App on my iphone but when I am in Spotify I can’t see Sonos.  Alexa can also no longer see Sonos.  My Connect has been upgrading its software automatically.  Is it possible the latest software version doesn’t support Spotify Connect?

Good morning, I would like to know if through the diagnosis available on the app it is possible to understand if one of the three mid-woofers of a Five is working correctly. Unfortunately the Five's grille is very dense and I can't see if it moves correctly. Thank you very much.Massimo

I want everyone in my household to be able to access "recently played" but I don't want everyone to have admin rights on the system. As far as I can tell its not currently possible to give people access to recently played without also giving them admin rights.Please make it possible.

Hi All,I have the listed equipment  Play 1 x 2 (Gen 1) + Sonos Playbar + Sonos Boost and none can be found on the app. I have tried to factory reset one Play 1 and connect via Ethernet cable to the router (whilst Boost was connected) the app recognised it, but would not go to the next step of creating a new system.My system has not been recognised for about 3 to 4 months. I am frankly sick of having dead speaker ornaments in my house that music should be coming out of. I will attempt to call Sonos support tomorrow.If I get through and we can resolve, I will post the solution here.Backstory - These products were all working up to 3 months ago and controlled via the app. the products are not defective. I have owned them for many years. If there is another way of controlling them and linking them, please share. Appreciate any advice. Thanks
