I’ve been pretty blessed that my system worked fine through most of the junk app release. Last week my parents asked me to come to their house and help with their system. Speakers (era 100) were all playing music but the app showed no content and volume control, etc acted like it worked but did nothing.  The buttons on the speakers all worked - would switch tracks and adjust volume as expected.  I left there without a solution blaming it on their WiFi.

Tonight at my house, my wife’s phone is behaving the same way. Shows no content, volume control on the app changes but doesn’t change speakers. My phone still works fine, iPad won’t work. 
 

is this some sort of bug in the latest update or did all our networks just break at the same time??!!

Did you try a fix that has worked for a lot of post-update or power-fail issues?

Power down all Sonos, reboot the router, reboot the controller device, power up the Sonos.

You can try removing and reinstalling the App and Force Stopping it but the above works for many.
