In Dec 2022 I inadvertently purchased a SONOS ONE when I should have purchased a PLAY 1. My controller is SONOS S1 and I have 12 speakers . The tech dept walked me through converting the software on my SONOS ONE to make it a PLAY 1. All was well. I was away for 6 months and the system was shut down. When I returned all was in order except the system could not find the SONOS ONE speaker.( converted as above.) I tried  hardwiring it but the result was that only the converted speaker was recognized and none of the others were. I tried rebooting the speaker--The lights flashed GREEN etc but the speaker was unable to be found. Please advise. I now do not know whether the software in the speaker is SONOS ONE or PLAY 1. Confused to say the least. (and I do not want to use the SONOS S2 app. Too many of my other speakers (PLAY 5s-- 1st generation) will not work with S2 and I would rather not have 2 controllers.

Just this week there was a S1 app update. Have you done that update?

A flashing green light on a speaker normally means it not setup, but if it can be founf when hardwired, there is something else going on.

Do you still have a Bridge connected for the rest of your speakers? If so, can you remove it and connect one of the Play 5s to see if that solves your issue?

I think what they did was reconfigure your One to run using the S1 controller. They can't change the model of a speaker but they can give confusing explanations.

 

As above I'd wire the One to Ethernet but don't power it up and connect to the other speakers.  Then see if the One can be found. If not try to add it to your system again.

Be. Very careful you only do updates, not an upgrade to S2 as that is not what you want.

If all else fails, factory  reset ONLY the One and try adding it to your other Sonos again.

If nothing works it may have reverted to S2 and need converted again, support can help again.

As ​@Stanley_4 explained, your speaker is, always has been, and always will be, a Sonos One.  It is not, never has been, and never will be a Play:1.  When you speak to Support you need to tell them that you think you have accidentally upgraded your Sonos One back to Sonos S2, and you need to roll it back so that it can be used on your S1 system.
