Era 100s with Sub Mini

I currently have two Era 100s working in stereo for listening to music. I am happy with the overall sound but considering adding a sub mini. Will the sub mini make a noticeable difference?

If anyone has done this upgrade was it worth the expense?

Hi @KT27, welcome to the Sonos Community!

Generally, if you don’t have a Sub or Sub Mini, you’ll notice a big increase by adding either of those devices to any setup. I would say it’s worth adding if you’re noticing a lack of bass, especially if you’re listening to music where it should be more prominent.

One thing I would suggest before buying however would be to adjust the bass of your Era 100s in the Sonos app. You can do this by opening the app and heading to Settings → Era 100s → EQ, then adjust the slider for bass. If this makes a noticeable difference and sounds good to you, you might not need to get the Sub Mini.

You could also buy the Sub Mini from Sonos.com to try and if you don’t like it, return it under our 30-day return policy.

I hope this information helps!

Thanks for the reply Jamie. The bass is adjusted and sounds good. I think your suggestion of ordering the sub from Sonos and trying it makes sense to see if the difference makes sense for me.

You can get the thunder with a sub mini. It’s at 25 hertz. That’s low low frequency responds. Forget about  just the speakers or sound bar alone. A car needs an engine but a mini sub is the engine. Buy at Sonos refurbished. You can’t go wrong. Good luck my friend.

Just added the mini sub today.  Got the pair of Era 100 last Black Friday sale.  As much as I loved the sound, it was lacking warmth and depth. I added the  mini sub today and the music was fuller.  It was worth another Black Friday sale.
