I am looking to convert my 5.1 architectural system to Sonos. I have high quality built in front and rear speakers.  My Google TV is mounted over a fireplace. The speakers for in the in wall speakers terminate in a closet in an adjoining room.  I would like to add Arc Ultra for Center channel, two Sonos amps one each for front and rear speakers, and Sonos sub.  If I connect the Sonos Arc to the HDMI ARC on the TV will that suffice to get the processed signals to the Sonos Amps as well?  Do any of these require an internet cable? -I have that available as a wired option.  Thanks!

You can use two Amps to power the LF, RF,LRnad RR speakers and pair a Sub to them, but sonos will only allow one set of surrounds per HT system.

What you are thinking about is not possible and is overkill.

The Arc already contains left, right, center and height speakers for Dolby Atmos, so no additional speakers are needed for the front stage.

So your choices would be:

  1. Purchase two Amps to power the front speakers and rear speakers and add a Sub to this setup. This will allow you keep the existing speakers but lose the center channel speaker. The Amp does create a phantom center channel when used in this configuration.
  2. Purchase the Arc Ultra, an Amp and a Sub. The Ultra will replace the front speakers with no need for additional speakers.
  3. Keep the existing HT system as is and add a Port to the receiver so that you can stream the home theater audio to Sonos speakers if you have any.

Thanks, if I have the ARC connected to the TV, will that send the signal to the amp for the rear speakers?
