Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

The new app has essentially rendered my sonos speakers Useless!When will you allow the use of the old S2 app?When will the ceo be replaced with a competent customer focused ceo? 

Long time Sonos user here, have purchased 15+ devices over the years for myself and as gifts. I’m absolutely shocked at the new app and subsequent updates. As I look in this forum, all I see are posts about features that have been removed or no longer work: alarms, TuneIn Library for custom URLs, queue issues, etc.  What I don’t see in any of the replies are devs discussing fixing ANY of these issues. I see updates still being pushed, with the same broken/discontinued functionality. From an investor standpoint this is deeply concerning. I get Sonos (ticker SONO) is trying to monetize and force subscriptions to various music streaming services, but when they’re losing this much money, that should be a wake up call. My brother shorted Sonos when it was nearing a high of $19. It’s now around $12. No one likes the direction the company is headed. Hi all,i have a beam gen2, sub mini and era 100s as surround. Overall i enjoy my investment and i was one of the few lucky one didnt get effected from app debacle. My living room for this setup isnt big. 4.5x3.8m. inread a lot about if it’s a smaller living room sub gen3 is overkill but i wondered iff there is anyone out there tried both? Or there is a certain “feel” of difference between the both ? best

I just purchased the Sonance - MAGO6SYSV3 - Mag Series 2.0-Ch. Outdoor Speaker System Powered By Sonos.  It’s essentially 2 passive Sonance speakers with the Sonos Amp.  I was able to successfully set everything up but the speakers are not registering on the Sonos App (and are not picked up in my Sonos account) to actually register for any warranty issues. Can anyone help me figure out how I go about registering the two speakers? thank you!

This is a feature request for the new app. I want to be able to go into edit mode when looking at my services or Sonos favorites or anything on the front page for that matter, and drag those things around to arrange them. Currently, services is alphabetic, but to get to the services I use most, I have to scroll to get to them. I just want the move the three or four I use most to the front so I don’t have to scroll every time.I’d like the same option for all the categories in Sonos Favorites as well.im on iOS.

Hello all.  I have a SONOS ARC, 2 SL1s and a SONOS Sub.  The SONOS system is running off my home internet WIFI signal  The SONOS Arc is connected to the TV with an HDMI.  The SONOS system is Not hardwired through ethernet.I just noticed that the SONUS is putting out WIFI access that is not password protected - a signal which can allow anyone can access my WIFI - without a password.  (It comes up as an unlocked WIFI signal on all of my devices.)Question:  Is there anyway to add password protection to the SONOS wifi.  If not, can I deactivate the WIFI signal it is putting out?Thanks.  

The sound quality on my Stereo Sonos Play 5 and Sub is frustrating me after the app upgrade. Sometimes the music plays like a cheap car radio. Sometimes it plays like the Sonos, the app does not detect the Trueplay settings or any settings I saved. They appear randomly. The $1500 system sounds like a junk boombox. Highly unstable. Volume controls work on and off , delays in skipping songs…when will Sonox fix these issues ??? I have half a dozen products including Boost and I am left with a crappy experience. Sonos , get your act together.  And one more annoyance , if I open any app with sound output eg Ring camera, YouTube etc ,it  increases the volume for my current song playing on the Sonos to the extent it can make one deaf. I have to decrease the volume immediately and close all offending apps. This is crazy. Moderator edit: combined posts

I updated my Sonos app today, for some reason the status lights on my Era 100 speakers switched on. I went into the app looking for the hardware section to turn them off, it usually lets you turn off the lights, or disable the Touch Bar on the areas on or off. This section is no longer showing in the new app, and for some reason the lights on the Eras are switched on, I also used to switch the touch volume on the Eras control off when the grand kids are here,and that is missing as well.Any idea were Sonos have put this in the new app, or is it another cock up.. .appreciate any advice or help on this

Every single day I have to turn off/turn back on Sonos multiple times just to establish total connectivity for my set-up (Arc+2 Era 300s, Sub, and 4 satellites). Sometimes I have to reboot the router. All of this is HIGHLY annoying and makes me think Sonos must be unable to figure this crap out. I have too much $$$ invested in this for Sonos to not have a solution for almost completley sucking the joy out of owning this setup.

I have an old Play:1 that I have trouble connecting to my WiFi router. If the router connects at 5.0 GHz, the music cuts in and out. The router also has 2.5 GHz but it connects automatically without allowing a choice. If I reboot the router a few times it will eventually choose 2.5 and then the speaker works fine. I have talked to Sonos customer service 3 times and they swear that the speaker works fine on 5.0. My experience says the opposite. Does anyone have experience with this and is there a fix?

My Sonos remote has stopped working so I can't change the volume any longer 

When using the swapping function for Sonos Ace to Sonos Arc, the audio defaults to TV, even when listening to music. Should I hear what is currently playing on my Arc?

I want to keep it always charging Won't that damage the battery?Thank you

I mean, how is it possible this is so awful in 2024? I won’t even get into the fact that my old stuff has to remain separate, but the process of downgrading the software of something to S1 is asking to programming a moon landing. Not to mention the constant losing connection, terrible app, etc etc. I work in audio and I literally tell anyone who asks to run away from Sonos. I’m stuck with it because I have two units that cost a lot of money, but I’ve been sitting here for an HOUR trying to downgrade the software on a unit. It won’t let me sign  in, then won’t see it, then i have to reset for the 254th time. Sonos. YOU SUCK

I thought we finally put the Sonos problems behind, but after last update of apple update ios.17.6.1 the Sonos app is lifeless. It doesn’t even open. Thankfully SonoPhone always works. Handy as a back-up just incase.  I’m not even going to and try and fix this, just make sure that I won’t buy extra speakers etc for a while

How can I play an audio file stored on my phone through Move 2?

Setup: Arc, Sub Gen 3, 2x One SL surrounds. All on wifi. Router about 25’ away from Arc. Sub about 2’ away from Arc. Surrounds about 12’ away from Arc. Router is configured with one SSID available in 2.4 or 5 ghz. Router system is Asus: one primary and two wifi-mesh nodes. Throughout my house, about 8 other Sonos speakers (mostly era 100).Issue: Configuration was working fine until the new app release in May or so (don’t remember exactly when I updated). After that, the sub kept disappearing from the app and network and the surrounds would show up as connected, but then not operate (i.e., no sound comes through them). Solution: Ran ethernet wire from router to Arc. Everything’s been working perfectly since.Although I don’t believe this is a “good” solution, it certainly seems to have fixed the problem.I believe Sonos needs to fix this more broadly though - part of the value proposition of Sonos (for me) is how well they work over wireless connections. I’m obviously not the only person

How can I listen to Sonos Radio on my phone outside my home network?!JL

First - Congratulations Sonos on bringing Apple Music lossless streaming to your platform.I noticed that when I have a paired set of Play:5 speakers, I can stream Apple Music in lossless.However, if I pair a Sub to the Play:5’s I then lose the lossless connection.  I am assuming (perhaps incorrectly) that when you pair two Play:5's with a Sonos Sub, the Sonos system is configured as a home theater setup. In this mode, perhaps Sonos prioritizes synchronized audio playback and bass management over lossless audio?Please advise if there is a way to configure a room with a Play:5 pair and a Sub to receive lossless streaming from Apple Music.  Thanks!

 How long before Sonos just renames their apps to "Something went wrong"? Every time I try to play music it involves 10 minutes of troubleshooting.

I’m sorry but I am absolutely bloody furious.When the new S2 app came out I abandoned it within minutes and have been using an older version of the app (via APK Library).Yesterday when on the Windows app it told me I had to upgrade my system. It gave 2 options - upgrade Now or Later. Click on Later and….the screen just reappears. I couldn’t use my system until I had upgraded, so I did. Windows app continued to work OK.But I then discovered that I had to upgrade the Android app, so reluctantly I did.All my favourites are greyed out. As are my Playlists.So I’ve come to a grinding halt. How on earth do I play the stations I’ve been playing for years via the Android app. Any why, for F’s sake, do I have to sign into my Sonos account to check Network, even just bloody date and time.So effing frustrating.

Confused.  You can see my phone is connected to wifi but the app is saying not connected.  I have 2 SL that I keep connecting but when I go to do the One it looses the entire system.  I have reset, rebooted,unplugged, reconnected, etc.  Things could play from spotify but I couldn't get sonos app to connect and so couldn't play from multiple speakers.  We had a great party last night despite the fact I couldn't get these damn speakers to work.  Why is it so hard?  We ended up getting out a JBL that had no problem connecting.  Sad.  You aren't winning new customers with this app.  It should work.  I run a business with this wifi.  No problems.  Why are these speakers such a hassle to connect?  I used to be able.to connect and reconnect wifi on my phone and the app would randomly connect.  What can I do to fix this?

I have updated the Sonos app today and now I can’t get my phone to recognise my system speakers any help would be appreciated 

Hi guys I’ve just received a new router and my phone is connected to the new router but my Sonos won’t connect as it says it has to be on the same network as my phone how do I do this please just keeps coming up device not found ???
