I have a Sonos play five: gen 2.
I have moved house and tried to move this to a new wifi network, but when searching on the app connected to the wifi it never finds the device. The automated support bot has not been helpful to resolve this and I have tried ten- twenty times to connect.

I’ve tried factory resetting and updating the firmware and a few other suggestions. But I’m feeling lost. Can someone provide support as to what my best steps are to connect the device?

Try hooking it to your router with Ethernet to get it set up.

I’m not an expert, but that has been tried and doesn’t work with this generation.

The Play:5 (Gen2) is currently unsupported to change network as it doesn’t have BLE so the new app will never find it.

As you have now factory reset the device, what is the led status? It should be green to allow you to add to a system and connect to the new Wi-Fi.

For future readers: the easiest path when replacing the WiFi is to duplicate the old WiFi’s credentials on the new WiFi. Refrain from Factory Reset without further consult.

AP123,

Do you have any other SONOS units in your system?

Why do you say it doesn't work?

The Five has a functional Ethernet port, the new Era line don't.
