Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I have a pair of new Sonos Five speakers and a Sub Gen 2 on Sonos app. I was wondering if I can add another Sub to this mix and if yes which Gen? I have heard that Fives are not designed to link to more than one Sub, that privilege is reserved for home theatre setups.   

Current setup: turntable --> pre-amp --> era 100. i want to have the turntable audio also play out of my Adam A5X active studio monitors.Can i get a sonos port, and connect the outputs to the Adam A5x(no inputs connected to port) and then group the Era 100 turntable audio to the port, so that the audio from the turntable plays out of both the era 100 and the adam a5x’s via the port?if so, will there be a delay of any kind?

What is going on?! Over the last six months I’m having more and more issues. Not sure if it’s wi-fi issues, or Sonos issues. I have the original Play:1 speakers. My setup: paired speakers in the living room and family room, single speaker in bedroom 1, bathroom, and bedroom 2. Running S2. Problem started with difficulty connecting, so I bought a new router. Seemed to help. Now different speakers will drop randomly and intermittently throughout the day. One of a pair will drop; sometimes both. And lately, it will stop playing a song before it’s finished (listening to Amazon Music), and start playing a new song. So many problems, and I’ve reached the end of my knowledge to fix them I think. Help!

I can successfully connect Era100s separately in the Sonos App. Whenever I try to connect these Era 100s to my Beam Gen2 it will connect for few seconds then disconnect. 

App is on 2 iPhones. After searching for an artist, song, album etc and playing, (SonosS1), track will start, play a few seconds and an error msg ‘Unable to play <Trackname>. Network connection speed insufficient to maintain playback buffer.’ Happens from either iPhone, resetting router doesn't help. Wi-fi is BT Halo 3 - 75MB download 10MB upload. I wanted to share this in case someone else runs into the same frustrating issue I did: TV: TCL P7K QLED Google TV (2025 model) Soundbar: Sonos Playbar (2015) Connection: Optical cable (no HDMI ARC) Remote: TCL stock remote (IR + Bluetooth hybrid) 🧨 The Problem:The Sonos S1 app wouldn’t complete remote pairing. Sometimes it would recognize the first Volume + press, sometimes not. If it did, it would fail on Volume - and say “volume control with optical is not supported” (which is nonsense — Playbar is designed for IR+optical). Disabling HDMI-CEC on the TV didn’t help. IR confirmed working via phone camera. Bluetooth turned off didn’t work. Factory reset on the bar made no difference. Universal remote wouldn't pair either (even though it had worked with the Playbar before). ✅ What Finally Worked:After all else failed, we just started mashing the requested buttons repeatedly during setup like we were speed-running a boss fight in a video game.Literally just kept pressing V

Not the ultimate solution but have paired an original Roam to my new tv in the bedroom with Bluetooth functionality, cannot see any problems currently regarding dialogue lag that many people talk of - am I just lucky or looking for an issue that may not even exist?

If I buy a Bluetooth device like the Sonos roam. Can I then group it with all my Sonos speakers and use Bluetooth through the Roam itself to play on all the devices? Will that work?

Have a Playbar and 2x Play:1 set up for surround sound system. Has been working fine for years but about 2 months ago it stopped working. Everything is set up as it's own room but not connected to each other. When I try to  "set up surrounds" it says there is an update needed. I press update, then it scans for updates, then the update screen just dissappears. This is just keeps happening. Have been onto Sonos support chat and on phone and they haven't a clue how to fix it. Not great.

I’ve been trying to solve this problem for my in-laws for a few weeks, and I’m making no progress.They have a Sonos Beam connected to a TCL 735 (Google) TV via HDMI/eARC. My father-in-law has Oticon hearing aids, and there is an Optical cable running from the TV to an Oticon “Box”. The hearing aids connect to the Oticon Box via Bluetooth.I cannot get sound to output to BOTH the Beam and the Oticon box (the hearing aids are connected) so that they can watch TV at the same time. I bought an “HDMI eARC (CEC) audio extractor" but that’s not working either - sound DOES come out through the hearing aids, but nothing through the Beam soundbar. At a guess, Sonos is fussy/strict over the kind of signal it receives and doesn’t “trust” it from the audio extractor. The TV sound option is set to “ARC”. There is an Optical option too. Can anyone offer any advice on this topic? I realise the issue is equally a TCL and Oticon issue, but I can't believe that I am the only person who has tried to set th

My play5 gen2 operate only by Ethernet. No way to Connect by Wi-Fi. Suggestions?

Had I known my new Sub wouldn't work with my set I would not have bought it. I had an effective set (zone) comprising one Five and two One SLs working harmoniously. When I tried to add the Sub to it, that wasn't allowed. I had to undo the zone, then add the Sub to the Five, but then I couldn't add the two One SLs to that zone anymore. They had to become a separate zone, which is not what I wanted. Now I have two zones in one "group" but that's not the same as one zone. I have to AirPlay to two separate devices if I want to listen to my Apple Music songs. Or manually set the two zones to play simultaneously EVERY TIME I put some music on. Very frustrating! Silly app that doesn't allow something as basic as one main speaker, two side speakers and a subwoofer to be configured as one set!

When I try and use AirPlay to listen to music on my Sonos Beam Gen 1 it is now asking for an on-screen code from my Beam. There is no code or screen of course! Any suggestions?

Can someone point me to the statement with Sonos says they don’t force updates because without updating I can’t access my system to use any other functionality and updates are turned off if this is true that they don’t force updates. This is a miss representation and other actions need to be taken against Sonos

How to connect Bluetooth with no Wi-Fi is that if you hit a button wrong then you have to go back to Wi-Fi to reconnect

Sonos play 1 unable to connect with wifi and unable to factory reset and continuously showing white light and checked with Sonos support they said product failed to connect and out of warranty. You can replace with 30% discount coupon. This is so frustrating as no solution provided to me. seems like never buying Sonos products again in future. atleast they should give some repair alternates etc instead of dumping the product. is there anyone who faced this issue and have any solution?

I am looking to connect two pairs of Era 300's to my Arc Ultra & Sub 4 for a complete 5.1 surround sound , is this even possible??? 

I have the possibility of purchasing a secondhand Sub Gen 3.  Will it work with my Connect:Amp Gen 2 through the S2 app?  Much searching online and I know that the Connect:Amp Gen 1 definitely will NOT work, but unclear whether the Gen 2 will.  Thank you for any assistance.

I can never get my app to work with my group or network. I’ve factory reset several times and i can’t even play one effing song on the porch without having to spend 2 hours to fix it all. which, only lasts a day.  Friends, romans, countrymen… how the EFF did you let this happen to an app that worked every time.  You guys literally had one job. Play music out of my speaker(s). If I owned the company, I’d FIRE YOU ALL. 

Hi, I'm looking for an option for my garden.The options would be two Move 2s, or two Era 100s, which I know aren't meant for outdoors.I like the Sonos Outdoor by Sonance, but I'm not willing to pay that much for the amp.What other options do you see as viable for outdoors?

I have Era100 speakers used primarily to listen to radio. When you wake up the speaker it resumes playing the station last set to, however, if the power is disconnected (e.g. a power cut)  it loses this connection and one needs to reconnect to the required station via the app. This is not a big deal but is inconvenient. Is there any way to configure the system so that the speaker will automatically reconnect to the source (radio station) last connected to prior to the power being disconnected?

I’ve read through other posts on this, but no solutions are provided. Sonos: Get this fixed! It’s really frustrating to not be able to lower volume down to comfortable background music level.

I just upgraded from a Galaxy S23 Ultra to a Galaxy Fold 7.And doing the same thing, i've always done to play music, which is to open the spotify app, click the speaker button to connect to my sonos and then play music through the spotify app. With this new phone after about ten minutes or so the sonos stops playing and the music kicks back to playing on the spotify app on the phone.I can reconnect it and then ten minutes later, it does the same thing. This last time after I reconnected it by clicking the speaker button in the spotify app I turned off wifi on my phone. Thinking somehow that might do something.. But it didn't, it ended up kicking back to the phone anyways.I have about a dozen sonos speakers on my network. But I usually only play 3 to 4 at a time, which was the case this time. I have an eero 6 pro wifi mesh setup.I don't know if this is a spotify issue or a sonos issue but I figured I would ask here first, thanks!
