Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I am getting Cannot be played - Encoding error on Apple Music Live Streams (Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits/Club/Chill/Country). It's not an error with the service (works in anything non-sonos such as iPhone, Mac and HomePod. It's not bandwidth or these wouldn’t play. Only these stations are causing problems. Bug? Anyone at Sonos looking at it? Previous post mentioned an error on stream (if that was the case it wouldnt play on other devices surely?) or bandwidth, but I have a 1gbps connection, no other issues with any stream, atmos and lossless included, only these stations. 

My Arc Ultra and Era 100’s sound like an AM radio.Shallow, tinny, no presence. Wasted money but my Wife likes the voice command and whole house soundDo I add a subwoofer or replace the 100’s with 300’s?

My Xbox used to play through my Sonos Arc but won’t any longer. I have an HDMI port connected to my tv  

Noticed that the Network option is missing but a Bluetooth is added from some Sonos speakers, app restart sometimes brings it back.MissingNo network but a BluetoothPresentHave network but no BluetoothAdded: wifi 300 stereo pair.

Hi,I have a problem with my Sonos 5. It seems there is no power altough I took a different outloet. I checked my wifi and there is no oroblem. It just doesn't want to start. What should I do ?Regards Marc

Hi the speech button is not responding on my Sonos one,  when pressing nothing happens, but it’s saying its connected,  and my other units are working fine,   Is it a fault with the device,  any ideas or suggestions appreciated 

I just got a Sonos Era 100 and successfully configured it to work on my network. Sometimes when I go into the app on my iPhone 13, however, it says it cannot find a Sonos product on my network. Sometimes if I leave the app alone for half a minute or so it will find find the speaker, but other times it just never finds it. I do have a couple of WiFi access points in my network, with different SSIDs than my main router, and I have the Sonos configured to use one of them in addition to the main router, but this problem occurs even when both the speaker and my iPhone are connected to the main router. Edit:I’m wondering if the app is trying to use too much information. For some reason it’s accessing the location, which makes no sense whatsoever, as the speaker certainly doesn’t know where it is. Just wanted to share a solution for my issue in not seeing Apple  Music as a content service. I live in Germany, but use English. Sonos had my country as ‘en’ in the address instead of Germany. The countries have to match. After that was sorted using the robot chat I still had an issue authorizing Apple. The robot turned me over to Marco. I sent a diagnostic number and he suggested checking if any unit updates were needed. My Beam needed an update. After that was accomplished it worked!

I'm experiencing a critical issue with the SmartThings integration on my Sonos Roam Gen 1 that appears to have been caused by a recent Sonos update.Issue Description:For months, I've been using a SmartThings automation to play white noise on my Roam Gen 1 using the 'play favorite item' action (typing the exact Sonos Playlist). This worked flawlessly until a recent Sonos update. Now, when the SmartThings automation triggers, no audio plays on the Roam. The integration appears to be completely broken.Troubleshooting Done:- Contacted Samsung SmartThings support- Samsung confirmed no changes were made on their end- Samsung advised me to reach out to Sonos as the issue appears to be on the Sonos side- The problem started immediately after a recent Sonos software updateDevice Information:- Device: Sonos Roam Gen 1- Integration: Samsung SmartThings- Use Case: Automated white noise playback triggered by SmartThings automat

can’t connect try again later / connection timed out / and so many error messages! I’m at the end of my very deep patience. We are all having the same problems but nobody at Sonos cares. I have 1st generation speakers which cost big money and deliver (!!) great sound. Why should I be made to ditch them and spend more big money for the same sound quality? I was a brand ambassador in the beginning, now I always bemoan this terrible company.

I won't buy sonos in the future they make it outdated so you keep buying there setup very annoyed. Anyone found a decent remote 

I have a system that has two ports; each controls a different area. Currently, neither port has a hard (i.e., RCA) input as it plays only via Spotify. Is there a way to bridge the two ports if I hook up an audio device (e.g., turntable or wireless audio receiver) to the RCA inputs of one port? I want to hook up the audio device but still have the signal play through both ports so it can be heard in both areas. Thank you in advance for any insights and help. 

Tonight nothing working…time to throw out or hardwire?

I have 2 ERA 100 speakers, one in the master bedroom and one in the master bath. The WiFi is an original eero Pro configuration in bridge mode, with DNS/DHCP provided by a Linux server. The ERA 100s have been working great in this configuration for 2 years. Recently, however, the one in the master bath is no longer on WiFi, nor was it visible in the Sonos app.After resetting the device a couple of times I powered down ALL Sonos speakers (6 Shadow SLs, an Arc and a Playbar among them) and powered off ALL the eero Pro devices. I then brought the eero network back up and then re-powered all the Sonos devices, doing the ERA 100s last.ALL the speakers came back online problem-free EXCEPT the ERA 100s. I just went through the reset procedure on the master bedroom ERA 100 and the behavior is the same: The speaker comes online, I can see it get an IP address from my DHCP server. However, within a minute it drops off the network, never to be seen again.So, both of my ERA

Last month I updated from an old Playbase to a new Arc Ultra. In my area we have unexpectedly had three power outages in the last month. After each outage when the power is restored the Arc Ultra has a blinking green or white light, and I have had to reset the bar from the factory settings all over again - three times. I have the power cord plugged into a surge suppressor. Is this normal behavior? There is no settings memory on this product?

I’m posting this in the hope that it helps someone who may have been in a similar situation.  It’s also an extended letter of thanks to this community.  Without you guys, I’d probably still be cursing my Sonos setup every day. Short version:  With the advice and guidance of this community I made three changes to my home networking and Sonos installation that turned my system from a hated disappointment back into the premium home music system I originally invested in.  HOWEVER:  These changes were expensive and required me to buy business-level networking products to meet Sonos’ demands. Conclusions:1:  Sonos has some work to do on its positioning and expectation management.  Yes, a three-player system will probably work out of the box in a consumer wi-fi environment.  No, a 15 player multi-generation, multi-room system probably won’t.2:  This community is one of Sonos’ biggest assets.  Thank you. Long version: The

I can’t finish the setup on my new era 100. It seemed to connect to my WiFi ok or it has found it on my WiFi easy enough but this has come up each time I’ve tried 

reconnecting tv sound on my soundbar  after having playede a song from spotify is not working. i have to restart the system. my konfiguration consist of 3 play:1 and 1 soundbar optical connected the soundbar is named " stue" connected to 2 play:1 as  surround.But as described I cant reach the tv setup

My Move 2 speaker seems to have weaker output from one of the channels. Has anyone else experienced this ? It has just started happening recently. 

I downloaded the Sonos app on my desktop Windows 11 PC, and successfully added a music folder, which is on a secondary internal hard disk of the computer. Windows sees the disk as D:I then noticed that the Sonos app was offering an update, and I installed it.After that, the shared folders on both my Windows PCs were showing as inaccessable. I removed the shared folder on my desktop, and then I was unable to re-add it. I tried various ways, and got various errors. Sometimes it would re-add, but then it became inaccessable during the indexing process.What to do?

Hiya, can anyone advise how to connect Sonos ARC ultra to a projector that only has HDMI to get the most out of the soundbar, I currently have a PlayBase and Mini Sub connected to said projector.Looking online apparently something called a matrix splitter is recommended but it’s as clear as mud, I’ll be wanting to connect a SKY Q 2TB box to hopefully get the full Dolby Atmos experience.  Many thanks in advance

Hi, for the last 3 weeks or so Sonos is constantly dropping out and losing connection. Sometimes it skips through tracks, other times it just stops playing. I also can not connect to Sonos speakers via the Spotify app. This all worked before and we haven’t changed our internet setup. Is anyone else having this problem? What can I do to fix it? 

I am aware this feature request has been raised many times in the past, but the threads I found are now closed to further comments, so I am posting a new one here.I recently bought a Sonos Era 100 and I have been loving it so far. One enhancement I would really love to see, though, is more consistent loudness between tracks when listening to Spotify (especially playlists and shuffle).For reference, I also use a WiiM Pro streamer to listen to Spotify. WiiM added a toggle to enable/disable Spotify volume normalization in 2025 (*1), and it significantly improved the listening experience. As much as I love my Sonos, WiiM remains my go-to streamer when I need consistent loudness and don't want to keep manually adjusting the volume for each track that’s too quiet or too loud. I would love Sonos to offer feature parity here so the Sonos experience remains fully competitive.What I am requesting:Please provide a user-facing option for volume normalization when u
