I’m frustrated with the new app. Doesn’t load very quickly constantly kicks me out on volume adjustments. Slow to react. Basically it sucks.I use to brag and promote my Sonos system at home. Not anymore
Before getting asked to leave at the instance of certain people here, I decided to step out a month ago. Looked up the site today and see that the firestorm continues to rage😀.To hold out some hope as to the integrity of the hardware therefore:My five zone Sonos system continues to be as rock steady and full featured as it has been since the time I ethernet wired all of it a couple of years ago. Prior to that, back to 2011 when I bought the units, it was just 99% reliable, not bad for a wireless system. This, for both streaming and NAS play. There is a precondition for this: Running S1 and SMB V 1 for the NAS link up. It was easy for me to accomplish this because I never left S1. And my SMB V 3 capable WD router can also do V 1. I do not believe I am unduly exposed to any risk via this link up.I mostly do not use even the S1 app because all my streamed music is via album art displaying Echo units wired to line in jacks on my Sonos kit. If I could dispense with album art and voice contro
I just upgraded to the may 7 update. The interface is nice and parctical. However I have a question. Why is Sonos removing some functionality without telling their costumers. Where I come from this is called dishonest practice. Here are 2 that I discovered and they really piss me off!in Spotify no longer able to add a song to my Spotify playlist. Damn this was practical! no more search in my Music Library. I would have expected a better search dedicated to my large music library, but now there is no search at all in my music library. What the hell is the idea behind this. I would certainly like to have someone from Sonos to explain the reason behind this.Recommendation to Sonos. If you want to keep your loyal costumers just be honest with them! Is it not an easy this to do! and it costs you 0$! simply tell us what you have removed in terms of functionality. Oh well, I guess there is worst than that in life!!
With previous versions, I add a song (play next, add to end of queue, or delete). With this new version I can’t do that. The new ‘replace queue’ options is not what I am looking for. I use to be able to make changes see it in the queue, and even save that modified queue. Am I missing something here?
I have had nothing but trouble with this new app. Half the time I can’t get sound out of my Roam speaker even though I am connected. Now I have Bluetooth turned off my phone and I can’t get the speaker to disconnect. I have the latest app update and it is still awful. I tried to switch back to the old app and it will not allow me to connect. This sucks for how much I have spent on these speakers. Can you please fix this app? The updates are not working.
(And also under-appreciated)..Need to connect my iPhone as a second controller and having issues but I will sort it out. The comments from the last six months I read prompt this post. Long time Sonos user here from the day I walked into Apple and said ‘look I’m not audiophile but I want to walk into every room and listen to my podcasts or music in sync’ and the young man looked me and said ‘oh no we don’t make anything like that’ . So I started building up my Sonos system and I still have the same one today - 12 years later - don’t laugh - it works great - 3 x play 1; play 3; boost (I don’t use as have lost the plug in cord) and One (gen 2 aka ‘The Mothership’). Over the years every time I need to know why I can’t: Connect to a new network when I move (and I move a lot); Why it connects but then two days later gets booted off network; Why i can’t connect up a a second device to use as a controller; Who thought that awful brown colour in the first app was a good idea?; What is the
Don’t upgrade to the new app! The UI is not intuitive and functions that I used, like the sleep function are gone. It’s difficult to play from a streaming service. Couldn’t believe that things could get worse, but they have. The first few years of using Sonos were great, but the last couple of years have been plagued with problems. Don’t understand how they expect to sell products when the app is so flaky and you need to use it to play anything. They should have done more user testing before going live.
Hi, I just joined the Sonos world with purchase of a Sonos Port. This was triggered by the recent update supporting Lossless streaming from Apple Music - great job Sonos. So far I’m very pleased with the operation / functionality, no moaning from me about the App, seems to work fine.I’m impressed that it maintains the bulk of the capabilities of the native Apple Music App.One thing I would like to request however is the ability to choose the sort order specifically for the Album list. At the moment it only sorts by Title, my preference when using the Apple App was to sort by Artist name, this would more logically group albums together by Artist. Usually when searching for something to play I’d choose by the Artist. Hopefully the API integration with Apple will allow you to implement this without too much trouble. Thanks for now.
Numerous issues with new app on ipad1 access to home screen is often sluggish through to not accessing service at all (ok on android)2 when music is playing. I either can’t switch it off or can’t change what’s playing to something else3 I can’t access any favourites other than what’s on the screen despite having more favourites than shown..this is not an issue on android phone4 can’t seem to add tracks to playlists other than through Deezer app(my first choice musician streaming service)5/all my previous to update playlists saved to Sonos completely vanished …v annoying6/ nothing to do with iPad but on Chromebook Sonos new app won’t load at all making it useless 7/I only have a play 3 at Mo but looking to update tv soon and would like a soundbar to complement it….dont think it will be a Sonos if the app doesn’t deliver v basic service of acces ,stop and play consistently.
Hi Sonos Users,Is anyone else having trouble getting through to customer service? I was on hold for 2 hours the other day before giving up! I've tried to ring everyone day for the last week & hold times are 50 to 105 mins. I have given up every time.I have a open case due to nothing working on new app. Such a shame as the sonos 1 app with bridge work perfectly! Now using a boost and some times I can't even turn the system on or off! So disappointing!
Sonos: to help with the current problems with your app, please publish the prior working release version of Sonos app (iOS) IPA for download. You can put this up on your website, as it’s digitally signed by MacOS’s development system. This makes good business sense and will allow your customers to continue using their equipment while you fix the many problems Sonos introduced with this new version.THANK YOU.
Sonos-why arent you answering support calls and whay arent you pro-active to Sonos users complaints? I am a custom installer and losing clients left, right and centre.all you need to do is search ‘trustpilot sonos’ and youll have clarity.Just lost a V large account with a hotel chain die to the the problems so too late for me/you.
… think it’s a bit insulting to receive emails from Sonos, offering discounts/credit for new kit?I, for one, feel I am not inclined to give them any more money until they’ve restored all the missing features I used to enjoy and I have confidence they’re not going to make life so hard in the future.
Hi. I recently ungraded my WiFi to a Sky (UK) Ultrafast System. I was struggling to find my Sonos system on my new network. I tried connecting direct from my router to my Sonos Sub Mini and everything then appeared and is working fine with the new App, ran trueplay and that worked too. I am a little confused as I read you can’t set up a wired system by connecting to home theatre components such as Subs, etc. Was the information I read now outdated about connecting from router to sub ? Would you leave the system alone now as it’s working ok ? Or should I try to reset my system and add from new over WiFi ? Thanks for any input.
So, I have 2 devices showing on my “system” list of products on my online Sonos account that I no longer own or have access to. My ex has them and I don’t want them showing in my account! (bad breakup don’t ask). I would really rather not see those products show up on my list. How can I remove them? Technical support did not seem to have an answer readily available. Help, anyone?
After updating to 80.00.08 (iOS) and updating the system to 16.2 I was able to create new alarms (the old ones were still missing). Alarm didn’t start at the set time and it looks like they are delayed by two hours. I think there is currently no way to change the system‘s default time, either. So I might set up all alarms two hours too early and hope that it’s not automatically changed
I’ve been a sonos dealer since 2007, when they never did updates or if they did it was to add a feature or fix a known problem. I have installed thousands of sonos products. I installed 30 zone systems. Now I hate to even recomend sonos. Why? for the last three days I’ve run around fixing new hardware on S2. Some people are experiencing a loss of zone but I have had issues where the whole system has disappeared. Today I spend almost 2 hours on hold. The tech support representavive told me there was no problem but as soon as I send a system diagnostic he fixed the issue however I still needed to add 10 zones and multiple arcs and subwoofers back on the system. Why? his answer was he’s not allowed to say but he finnally did tell me he did do something to fix the problem. I bill 1500 for 8 hr day and no I can’t bill that to a customer that has been good to me through the years however I still have to pay my workers and I can’t do it for free. Even the maid at the house said it makes you l
The new app is horrible. Is there a way to revert to the previous version?
Knowing the Sonos 2.0 app has significant issues, why are you still pushing users to upgrade? Sonos is doing a disservice to its community in mandating to move to Sonos 2.0. Turn that feature off until you get your software working properly
App update is HORRIBLE!!! I purchased Sonos because it was pitched as an easy sound system for a non-techie like me. Every time I turn off the TV the sound bar is dropped along with all the other speakers in the house. Brought my tech genius in to fix it (for the 2nd time in 2 days) and everything worked fine which made me look like an idiot. This morning I followed the precise steps I was given to wake up TV and in trying to adjust the volume on the sound bar the entire house connection was lost. I’m agreeing with the comment about owning a $5000 boat anchor. Livid doesn’t properly describe my feelings.
Has anyone received a call from Sonos saying to download an app? For remote viewing on your device. When all the app comments say it’s a scam!
Hello, my Sonos Move has stopped charging from either the charging base or the USB-C connection. I spoke with an agent on the phone who transferred me to “tech” to advise me but I’ve been on hold for over an hour. I just need a simple return authorization so that I can send this defective unit back for repair. Official reps: Please contact me and provide instructions on activating my warranty return (I am within the window). Others: Any tips on how to initiate a warranty return without waiting on hold for hours would be appreciated. I can’t believe there is no simple online returns tool or customer support email address, and that Chat is often “offline” and hold times over an hour. Absolutely abysmal customer service.
On another thread, I mentioned that on the new app, I could no longer see the battery charge percentage for my two Sonos Roams. This used to be visible on the speaker tab as soon as you brought up your list of speakers. So, one click from whatever other tab you were on.I did just locate this on the new app. I had to click on the systems icon in the upper right hand corner. Then I had to click to select one of the Roam speakers. Then I had to click one more time on a line under the heading Products that showed a battery icon. That finally showed me the battery percentage, but only for that device. So, three clicks to get to that. If I wanted to check the charge on my other Roam device, I had to click twice to back out of the first one, then click twice more to get to the charge screen for the second one. Then it takes three more clicks to get back to the Home Screen. So far I haven’t found any direct way to go back there. This was so much quicker and simpler using tabs.I hope at least
HelloI have added my music library to the S2 app. Can you search the music library via the app? I could not find the search function in the app. Does anyone know?
I have a mix of Sonos components, some legacy operating on S1 and other operating on the S2 app. The S1 system is not stable. I have worked with Sonos tech support to establish a stable connection for the S1 side and it works for a while; then reverts back to a prompt requiring me to use the Sonos s2 app. So here is my question. Is it possible to run a stable split system? If so how do I reset the S1 equipment/zone?
