The Sonos Ray is 29% off during today’s Amazon Prime Day.
Sounds like a good deal but Sonos could decide to end support for this product at any time, for any reason.
So, no thanks.

I think this app situation has you and others over reacting. Sonos has supported discontinued products for at least 5 years and more. The Ray is an active product.
Furthermore Sonos is still supporting Gen1 products with the S1 app so that they can continue to be enjoyed. True they aren’t receiving new updates but that’s to be expected.
I own Sony, Bose, Samsung and other products that are paper weights gathering dust as those manufacturers discontinued them for new models or just abruptly dropped them. Do you remember the Windows 8 phone that just disappeared from the market with no replacement.
Honestly, I wouldn’t blame Sonos for discontinuing support for a 10 year old product. Oops… stopping support would kill the Connect: Amp Gen1 (2008) and signal the death noll for the Gen2 version (2015). Do you own any of those products
Sonos still support every speaker they have ever produced. Get over yourself, just buy the Ray.

Thanks for the reality check.
