Controllers and Music services

Hi everyone,I am new with Sonos One speaker, recently I have connect the speaker to my office network and I can see it has taken an IP. From my Windows PC I want to use one of the speakers to play music, but after installing the Sonos App, the App cannot operate well, keep asking me to check for update, even it is already up to date.Mush appreciated if anyone of you experienced this issue before and had the solution, thanks!It is a fresh install and I even tried to clean uninstall and reinstall, but no help.Best regards,Werner 

Subscribed to Sonos Radio HD. the music quality and mix of music is good, the one thing letting it down is the constant station idents - “90 Mixtape on Sonos” being played. Why do I want that when im paying for a music service…. Really ruins the experience and caused me to instantly cancel. Assumed that on the free one you might get that but on one that is almost on par with the cost of Spotify/Apple Music and limited to the Sonos speakers (cant listen in the car, headphones etc...) and still just constantly being told what the playlist I selected is is just annoying. Sonos - Give the premium experience and dont ruin the atmosphere with station idents. Why would I want to use a Dinner Party Playlist for a dinner party when every few songs me and my guests are reminded we are listening to a Sonos Playlist…. 

I am running the S2 App on my iMac, i can play Sonos radio/Tunelm from my computer so I know the system is working.However when i try to add my music folder, so i can play my own music, I get to the administrator login and it keeps saying password or username is incorrect (I have checked that my credentials are correct by shutting down and restarting) I have followed every step I have found online regarding file permissions and firewalls, but I am still no further forward, the system has worked in the past, but its been so long I can’t remember when it last worked.

I am getting Cannot be played - Encoding error on Apple Music Live Streams (Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits/Club/Chill/Country). It's not an error with the service (works in anything non-sonos such as iPhone, Mac and HomePod. It's not bandwidth or these wouldn’t play. Only these stations are causing problems. Bug? Anyone at Sonos looking at it? Previous post mentioned an error on stream (if that was the case it wouldnt play on other devices surely?) or bandwidth, but I have a 1gbps connection, no other issues with any stream, atmos and lossless included, only these stations. 

Noticed that the Network option is missing but a Bluetooth is added from some Sonos speakers, app restart sometimes brings it back.MissingNo network but a BluetoothPresentHave network but no BluetoothAdded: wifi 300 stereo pair.

Just wanted to share a solution for my issue in not seeing Apple  Music as a content service. I live in Germany, but use English. Sonos had my country as ‘en’ in the address instead of Germany. The countries have to match. After that was sorted using the robot chat I still had an issue authorizing Apple. The robot turned me over to Marco. I sent a diagnostic number and he suggested checking if any unit updates were needed. My Beam needed an update. After that was accomplished it worked!

I downloaded the Sonos app on my desktop Windows 11 PC, and successfully added a music folder, which is on a secondary internal hard disk of the computer. Windows sees the disk as D:I then noticed that the Sonos app was offering an update, and I installed it.After that, the shared folders on both my Windows PCs were showing as inaccessable. I removed the shared folder on my desktop, and then I was unable to re-add it. I tried various ways, and got various errors. Sometimes it would re-add, but then it became inaccessable during the indexing process.What to do?

I am aware this feature request has been raised many times in the past, but the threads I found are now closed to further comments, so I am posting a new one here.I recently bought a Sonos Era 100 and I have been loving it so far. One enhancement I would really love to see, though, is more consistent loudness between tracks when listening to Spotify (especially playlists and shuffle).For reference, I also use a WiiM Pro streamer to listen to Spotify. WiiM added a toggle to enable/disable Spotify volume normalization in 2025 (*1), and it significantly improved the listening experience. As much as I love my Sonos, WiiM remains my go-to streamer when I need consistent loudness and don't want to keep manually adjusting the volume for each track that’s too quiet or too loud. I would love Sonos to offer feature parity here so the Sonos experience remains fully competitive.What I am requesting:Please provide a user-facing option for volume normalization when u

Is anyone else having problems with Deezer in Australia attaching the service to their Sonos account ?

I have a Play:5. Setting up a new account, on a different iPhone. I keep getting the “Unable to create Sonos account” error. I’ve rest everything, still unable to create new account.

An S2 system that’s been working fine off the same Synology NAS for years. No network changes. Sonos reports that it can’t read the music files from the NAS share. Rebooted all round (inc network router) and readded the Music Library share. Connects ok, indexes all the files (Library contents are fine), but trying to play a track gives a file access error. I’m baffled. 

ios app, changing volume or room assignments. hit apply and it reverts to where it was (imagine its way too loud and your wife is yelling turn it down). then the little circle spins and you cant turn it down. or off. its been years since they broke what was once a virtually bulletproof app. sonos will be primarily remembered as a case study of how poor management can utterly destroy a successful company.

Hello guys,I have been using Amazon Music Family and my Plex library for years with Sonos.Since a few weeks/months, the Sonos app won’t play any content I select from the Amazon library. Just an error message.I tried to re-authorize Amazon Music from my phone. The process went through. But again, after searching for a title to play, error message.I tried to suppress Amazon Music from the services, to add it again. Same issue.Suppressed again, and now, when I select Amazon, it says impossible ta parse music, one issue occured when connecting to Amazon Music (translated from french).My Amazon Music account is active I can play from the iOS app.Other issue: Plex ! I can’t play my music in my library on my computer on my Sonos system. I’ve updated my son is up and I have updated music library 

I am experiencing an ongoing issue that has now persisted for over a year. One of the primary reasons we invested in the Sonos system was its ability to set alarms to play specific playlists — a feature we used daily. For the past year, however, the alarm function has been essentially unusable. Here are the consistent issues we experience:I cannot set alarms from my phone at all. My husband can set alarms from his phone, but only with the chime sound — no playlists will play. No matter what we try, the playlist option simply does not work.I have:Contacted your support team multiple times via phone and chat. Multidecade sonos owner.  I've seen tunein stations come and go.  I've had issues playing certain stations on S1 because it didn't support the stations bitrate (radio dismuke) but was fine on S2.I've a problem with a specific tunein station called “radio synthpop”.  It queues, it plays TuneIn ads, it shows the song playing, the song playing updates when the next song starts -- but not one hint of audio.  I can play it through a browser no problem.Can someone do me a favor and see if you can reproduce this by loading this station?I can't post the image of it (sigh) but it's purple, green, and white.  SynthPOP RADIO “Tu Defecto... I’ve seen lots of threads with issues with Sonos Radio HD, I’m surprised at how poor it seems to be.  I’ve just taken out a month free trial.  I have a playbase connected to 2 play 1s in surround sound using S2.  Often Sonos radio HD will randomly cut out for no reason then start again a few seconds later.  It’s not my system as I have Apple Music subscription set to highest quality and until recently used Spotify with the same set up. I’ve never had any issues with randomly cutting out mid track, but this is a constant theme with Sonos radio hd.  When I switch back to Apple Music via Sonos this never happens.  Like many people it seems to have been reported the second they switch from the standard Sonos radio to radio hd the cut outs start.  So there must be an issue with there streams/compression.  Also even when it works ok the I’ve noticed the sound quality is not remotely in the same ball park as Apple Music or Spotify.  I’ve also tried tidal in the last year and no cut outs is

The bottom line: After you set up an SMB share as a music library, wait an hour. Problems go away.The details: I recently set up my Music Library (a samba share on a Linux server). Sonos connected to the library, scanned it without error, and I was able to browse the library just fine from the Sonos app. However, whenever I tried to play any files within the Sonos app, playback would fail with a variety of errors that changed from minute to minute (“Content is unavailable,” “Permission denied,” “Connection timed out”, etc.). Also, none of my album artwork was visible, even though it was stored in “folder.jpg” files for each album in a separate folder.An hour later, after making no changes, all the problems vanished. Album artwork was visible, and all files in the Music Library were playable in the Sonos app.Moral of the story: wait an hour after adding & scanning a Music Library. What’s Sonos doing during that hour? Beats me

Several more Sonos releases have been and gone, and yet there seems to be no progress with restoring what should be basic functionality in the App which would greatly improve the User Experience:Still cannot save the current Queue to a playlist. Such a basic feature.  The Sonos Windows App can do this, as can third party Apps. Why do Sonos think this should not be included in the IOS App? After playing a radio station still cannot revert back to playing the current loaded queue with the App.  Again easily done in the Windows App and third party Apps.  Would it be so difficult to add a button to the now playing screen to get back to the queue? Alarms can be created, switched on and off - but once created they cannot be deleted?I think Sonos would be better off spending their time restoring some of these simple User Interface issues, rather than seemingly concentrating on secondary issues such as controlling Hue lighting via Sonos vo

After the latest Iphone update “Your Sources” no longer show up as an option in the Sonos app.  This is how we connect back to the TV once we are finished listening to music.  How do I add “Your Sources” back to the Sonos App?

Since upgrading to Windows 11 my Sonos system was no longer recognising my Music Library.Having viewed other support advice, I have set my Wifi network to Private but it still doesn’t work.I removed the existing library and am now trying to add it back but am getting nowhere.I go to Music Library settings and click Add to add a new folder. I then click on browse and choose my music folder (on the same laptop) and then click on Next to add it.This brings up a window headed ‘Adjust file sharing settings’ saying the setup assistant needs to adjust the following 1) add sonos library service to firewall exceptions list and 2) set Windows sleep settings to Never. I click on Next to do this and then get a window asking if I want to allow Sonos to make changes. I click on Yes and it just takes me back to the window to choose my music folder. Nothing has been added.NB I have separately added the Sonos library service to my firewall exceptions list and the S

HiI have a controller CR200 that I can’t factory reset. I have already done tries stepsTake out the battery and replace it and placed in the cradle - Take out and replace the battery and placed in the cradle while I presse Mute + Home button and slide it down into the cradle, stille pressing the buttons.The controller start up every time, and start looking for a Sonos product. I can see the SETTING in the bottom of the screen but noting happens when I press the button Can anyone tell me how I make a factory reset on it ? Hello all.  I have been a subscriber to Apple Music for some time and, if you’ve ever used it, you are aware that the service creates a personal station for each subscriber based on their favorites and listening history.  My issue is that when I stream the station through the Sonos App it bears very little resemblance to the station streamed on the Apple app. It is much more restricted and excludes a lot of music.  Any ideas how to fix this?
