I saw a notice on my Apple Laptop that Sonos will no longer run on Apple silicon. If this is the case, how will I get this needed update? Will Sonos push it, or will I have to go to a site and pull it? I expected a more proactive response from Sonos. Thanks.

Sonos dropped support for desktop apps years ago, both Mac and Windows, and have been only releasing bug fixes. Their main emphasis has been on mobile (iOS and Android) controllers, although recently they’ve released a web based controller as well. While I’ve not tried the web based version, it should, to my knowledge, support updates.
I tend to use (and update) using the iOS controller on my iPad, although occasionally I’ll update from my iPhone.
I have outdated controllers Sonos no longer supports or has available for download.
To get device firmware updates I use a supported controller with the latest App.
So far the antique App on my old controllers is still working.
Thanks for those rare occasions when I am on my laptop, and my tablet is not nearby, I will use the ‘web-based’ app. I will add the link now.
Agreed. 98% of the time I have my iOS device handy, but I’ve got both an Intel Mac and a M(x) Mac that I’ll need to migrate from. At the end of the day, it is just muscle memory that needs adjusting.

I have Mac’s running Tahoe 26.3 with M1 thru M4 processors. I haven’t received any such notice unless it’s a phased rollout.
I think it’s a warning from Apple when you open a ‘soon to be non-supported’ app, as opposed to a notification or email from Sonos itself. I so rarely open the app on any of my Mac’s, I’m not certain about that, though.
I do fairly frequently get a notification about a printer file, but I’ve not bothered to figure out what I need to do, as it only happens when I do a full reboot. Damn HP for not having any data about it, or a process posted (when I looked) on how to deal with (or remove) it.
+18Regarding updates. Updates to the system can be set to be done automatically. You do not need an app the keep the system updated.
Not all firmware (speaker) versions necessarily work with all controllers.

there currently isn’t. I tried downloading the latest and it’s still the Intel version.
