Sonos amps (whole system except wireless era 100's) dropping out at start of a song or during a song

I have read many frustrated comments about songs dropping out and back in intermittently on Sonus amp system.

No solutions were offered except “wait an hour on the help line”.

I solved my issue which I determined to be a conflict between the wireless router and the hard wired network connection (hard wired is by far preferred).

After many hours of frustration….. It is as simple as relocating the wired network connection from the amp(s) (I have 6 in the system) from the modem to the first hub in the router mesh network.

It seems that the wireless router (Deca 6e) can manage the wired output and not attempt to connect wirelessly.

Note: as mentioned in other posts, if you disable the wireless capability of the amps they cannot communicate with wireless subs and era 100’s.

I hope this helps you avoid the frustration I faced.

@wholmes2024 ,

It sure sounds like a case of wifi interference of some type. I’m delighted you discovered your solution.

The company is called Sonos, although you may have been struck by ‘autocorrect’, which doesn’t handle company names very well.

I’m sorry you feel like all of the threads you read pointed to calling Sonos support. Most common forum users either try to resolve it without that resort, or offer it as an alternative option. It’s really hard to tell from many posts what the true reason is, and local networking is so volatile, given the wide variety of both routers and local conditions. And of course, Sonos employees have access to ‘hard data’ in the diagnostics that are submitted, while we in the public don’t…another reason some of us tend to suggest Sonos Support.

In any case, thank you for posting your solution. I’m glad it works for you.

Could it be your “modem” and Deco system: are both set up as a router? That could indeed lead to conflicts.
