Controllers and Music services

I know this topic has been posted a few times, but I have not seen a recommendation that works for me. For years, I’ve stored an iTunes music library on my QNAP NAS, and accessed it as my Music Library via Sonos through this path: //[NAS IP]/homes/music/iTunes Media/Music A couple months ago, it stopped working.  I removed and re-added my library, but still nothing.  I found a thread about SMB and confirmed that I have S2 and SMB2 on the NAS.  I tried changing the path to have no space between “iTunes” and “Media.”  No change. Interestingly, although none of my library shows up in Sonos searches in the app my NAS shows up in Browse (perhaps as a Media Server?), and even shows content.  But none of the tracks will play (throwing an error). The only other thing I can think of is the way Sonos logs into my NAS.  I enabled 2FA on my NAS about 6 months ago, requiring a Google Authenticator code.  Obviously, Sonos can’t enter that.  So perhaps Sonos can’t properly login?  How does one work a

I have tried deleting and reinstalling the Sonos App and even reauthorizing access.  It says “no selections available” and it seems like other may have had similar issues.  Nothing works.  Is there a mis-compatibility with YouTube music and Sonos?

Calm radio stopped working on my sonos. I have tried reinstalling it and it has not made any difference. Any ideas?

Is there a way to play a Sonos radio station on my smartphone to listen to when I'm away from home using my earbuds?

Hi!I'm having issues playing my Spotify through Sonos Beam. Has been working with no issue for a couple of weeks and today nothing. Tried uninstalling everything from my phone and reinstalling. Any suggestions?Thanks,Terri

I have a number of older components grouped into various rooms and as I understand it , none of these components support airplay.  From reading community responses it looks like I would have to upgrade only one component in each room in order to use airplay in that room. Is that correct? (e.g., playbar, sub, and two play ones in room….I would replace a single play one with Sonos one and then entire room would be enabled….is that correct?)

Problem:  After resetting and moving to a new residence (and wifi network) Amazon Music shows the old speakers names and not the new one’s I recently moved from one residence to another.  I factory reset all the speakers and gave them new names on a new network. I am thinking about starting to use Amazon Music and not Spotify.  This is a showstopper!  Spotify and all my other apps show the new speakers properly at the new house. I just installed Amazon Music on my phone.  I cleared cache and wiped settings for amazon music and the old speaker names still show up.  None of the new names or speakers show that are on my new wifi network.  How does it know the names of the speakers and old house/network that existed previously?  I have both the S1 and S2 app installed.   I am thinking I need to wipe cache and data from both the S1 and S2. 

S2 app. I am trying to make it a bit more intuitive to find my playlists. Is it possible to add a "sonos playlists" button in the music library screen and to make the sonos playlists searchable from the "search> playlists " screen? 

S2 says i have an update, but it is already updated. So I have limited functionality until I update. But of course I can’t. 

I’m on MacAir running 12.6.3 and have NAS drive (Buffalo LS220D992) where I have the musicI moved my Apple Music library to the NAS with no issue.  Now in Sonos when I attempt to add the network music library I get the “the computer “LS220d992” refused to let Sonos connect to it” message where LS220d992 is the network drive. On Mac in system preferences I have file and media sharing checked.  I do not have firewall on.  I’ve tried a bunch of different syntax for the ‘map to networked share in case my syntax is wrong and I’m also not certain what the syntax should be (many path names result in same error).  Currently I have \\LS220D992\OurMusic\Music I can mount OurMusic on the Mac and see my music filesAny ideas?

Hi,I just signed up to a free trial of Amazon Unlimited to run through my Sonos system and compare to Apple Music to see if true lossless (24-bit) is a discernible difference. My main music speakers are stereo paired play 5’s (gen 2) + sub.  I can’t seem to stream UHD (24-bit). Rather all of it is HD (16-bit). I am running it through S2 app and have Amazon music settings set to highest audio quality. I read subsequently that either gen of the sub is not compatible with UHD so I unlinked my sub and tried it on stereo paired play 5’s (gen 2) and still the same.  I’m using the Amazon music UHD for Sonos playlist via the S2 app. Any ideas?  Thanks! 

My login will work on the desktop website, but will not work on the smartphone app so I can control My sonos Move speakers with the network. I have even tried to change my password and it still tells me password/username incorrect.

Just wanted to see if anyone else is having trouble playing 24bit audio files from a local source on a Play:1. This was working great after the S2 upgrade but about firmware v.69.1-33120 this no longer works.I have been able to confirm that 24bit playback did work on firmware v.69.1-31120. Then I updated the firmware on that Play:1 and 24bit playback stopped.Currently on firmware v.70.4-36090 with no improvement.Fun fact: I added a Playbase to the system over the weekend and it plays back 24bit files just fine on the latest firmware.

I can play anything from any streaming service.  but any wma files appear to be playing on the sonos player, but i have no sound. Thanks in advance !!!mike

Spotify’s Android app can direct the music stream to be played on either:(a) an individual Sonos speaker(b) a group of Sonos speakers as set up in the Sonos app.Can the Amazon Music app also play on a group of Sonos speakers?

What’s up with the MacOS controller for Sonos S2 that it consistently fails to update automatically.This was a persistent issue last year and today it’s starting all over again.Very frustrating to have this happen so regularly.

I used Sonos 1 for years and never had a problem with the app.I upgraded to Sonos 2 last summer and the app needs to be reset every week - it’s really annoying.It says it can’t find the system, then the diagnostic finds it, then it asks me to switch the port and the speakers off and switch them on again.I’m using an iPhone 11 - the app my 6 year old iPad doesn’t seem to have the same problem and can always see the speakers - I’ve restarted the phone and the problem persists so I don’t think it’s the phone that’s at fault.Some times the app then just finds the speaker an hour later - even though I did nothing - just gave up - another reason I think t’s the app not the phone.Any ideas ??

I have used SONOS since its beginning.  Recently I have had to “force quit” the OS app every time I use it.  Once opened, it works , click “quit” and the program hangs and I have to “force quit”. All software up to date including updated SONOS. Using Mac OS Ventura 13.2.1, MacBook M1 2020. Don’t know why this is occurring .

I’m trying to login into Last.fm to scrobble my Sonos plays to Last. I’ve been able to log into Last.fm on three mobile devices, a PC, and a Mac, The only device(s) that won’t log in is Sonos...I can’t add the Last.fm service from iOS, Android, or the Controller on my PC.I’ve already talked with Sonos support who (of course) wanted me to restart various devices including my Boost and two of my Play:5’s. That (of course) didn’t work. :)Is anyone else having issues with logging into Last.fm? Am I the only remaining Last.fm user? LOL I truly appreciate any help you can provide, even if it doesn’t provide a fix. Thanks.

Si system. New W11 laptop. Controller says can’t connect to Sonos.  More options, connect to existing system. Finds system but press done and goes back to sorry etc. Tried everything including re-installing Sonos. Can you help please

Sonos says to go into settings as usual half the info needed - settings where on the mac in the app where FFS? 

Having downloaded my music to Sonos numerous song titles are missing ie. (1 CP SCP Side One01 -1mp3) I therefore cannot tell what track I am playing on a particular album can I rectify this?

Does anyone know if the Pico remote won’t work with Spotify or other services? Here’s the scenario: 1 - I am using the Lutron Audio Pico to control an area of Sonos.2 - I have “favorites” programmed into My Sonos including Sonos Radio Stations and playlists that I have created in Spotify. NOTE: These were created in Spotify within Sonos...not using Spotify Connect.3 - All functions work on the Pico for all playlists and favorites (volume, play, pause, etc.). HOWEVER, the center button will not cycle through Spotify playlists. It cycles through the Sonos Radio favorites but not through the Spotify playlists in the same My Sonos area. Is this a known issue with Sonos and Spotify? If so, what other services have the same issue (ex: Amazon Music, Apple Music, etc.)? Thanks in advance

I recently have some problems using my Play 1 to stream music from Spotify. It keeps skipping songs at first and then just stops completely. The error message displayed on my app suggests that my Wi-fi connection is unstable, but streaming music from SoundCloud works perfectly fine, so I suppose there is some other reasons.  Although I am not sure whether this problem is caused by Spotify or SONOS, I am hoping that there may be some solutions because Spotify is the main service I use. Please let me know if there's any way to solve this. Thanks.
