Controllers and Music services

When - a few times per week - Sonos produces zero search results I restart the Sonos app (iPhone) and then it works again. Been like that for a couple of years I guess. No big problem… Is it just … streaming life?

I have been having issues with the S2 app for over a year now.  It’s intermittent.  It happens on both my iPhone and my wife’s - connected to same sonos system. The issue is on speaker list - if I scroll to bottom of rooms then it jumps to top.  The same issue is seen on system information screen - same thing but you can see the data flickering.  It also happens if you search for song and expand Spotify list - it jumps back a screen. I have tried resetting app, reinstalling etc.  it happens more often than not.  Anyone got any ideas?

How do I get added as a user on my boyfriend’s Sono account? 

Like a lot of people, it seems, I have this problem. It’s been going on for a long time and I keep thinking it’ll get fixed but doesn’t. I read an extremely long thread on it (Sonos no longer recognizing folder.jpg for cover art?) in which replies ended many months ago and there seems to have been no resolution. What is the status?My music library is on a Synology NAS with SMB2 min, SMB3 max. I have a mix of MP3s with embedded art (600x600) and WMAs with a folder.jpg in the containing folder. The issues are not unique to either type; both types fail to display properly at random times. I always play large WPL imported playlists. I frequently update these playlists with manually shuffled versions (I did not feel that Sonos’ shuffle was random enough so I shuffle the playlists myself). My library auto-updates at 4am daily.  I’ve spent (and continue to spend) a great deal of time curating my library with tags and cover art and it is constantly irritating to see the art no

Play 1 (stereo pair) + Play 3 been running well for years. Controlled bi iPad app. Music source is also on iPad. No connection or network changes but recently Sonos system is “not recognised” by the app even if the system is actually playing! Running the Fix prompts eventually finds that the system was there all the time. Getting very fed up with this.

I see messages saying that Apple have fixed this…. Well not in my house they haven’t, so I’ve got three pairs of Sonos speakers, that won’t talk to my iMac, my iPhone or my iPad. again. 😡

This problem has been around for over two years! I haven’t seen it in a while but suddenly it came back like a bad cold. a full reset of my 4 zone system did not fix it. Sonos products are basically overpriced and with that comes an understanding that they’re worth it. Little annoying issues like this erode our confidence in the product 

I’ve seen this question asked before but no real answers have been provided, at least that I have seen.  What is the fix for this issue?

Hi all,I have 6 Sonos devices around my home and all have worked fine for a long time.I just got home after a trip and seem to have a glitch with my Sonos Play:5 (Gen 2).Cannot connect to the speaker from within Spotify app. It times out. Intermittently cannot play via the Sonos app and get a variety of error messages like “cannot queue item to the device” or “cannot connect to device”It will play from other sources (Sonos Radio / TuneIn)The device is updated. I have powered the device down, reset it to factory settings, reauthorised Sonos in my Spotify account. Nothing has fixed it so far.Any ideas?thanks so much,Maya 

I’ve a paid subscription of Amazon Music in Portugal, but as it seems, the Sonos integration is not yet available. Any idea why? Copyright issues? Hi guys,Although I have a subscription of Amazon Music service, I don’t seem to be able to integrate it on my sonos app.That makes me feel a bit uncomfortable since I’ve pre-ordered the ERA 300 and I’m hoping to have services that support ATMOS and Spatial audio from Day 1.Also, the question is when will you expand the integration on the sonos app and if I can use airplay (using the amazon music app directly) to stream atmos on Era 300.Thanks in advance,Jose

On all iPhones and iPads in household, we have been getting error message “unable to play…connection to Spotify was lost.” All reboots reinstalls etc etc not working. Other music/podcast sources working fine.Various searches show it is a frequent issue…what is Spotify doing about it? So frustrating!Filled the house with expensive Sonos speakers that won’t play music. Kinda want to go back to CDs.

Hi,I’m use Sonos s2 on Apple iMac. Between few days I can not longer drag and drop my Amazon playlist in Sonos app. Did somebody can help me ?

My Sonos system refuses to add spotify play lists to queue.  Sono’s blames spotify, spotify blames Sonos.  They both blame network.   Has anyone been succesfull with Sono’s playing shared spotify playlists that are over 2000 songs?

I want to load a You Tube music video on my iPhone and play the audio through my Sonos sound bar (not the official YouTube Music app). Can it be done?

I have some play lists that I use often and would like to just have those play lists play one after another, but I don’t know how to do that or if it is even possible.Anyone know how to do that?Thanks

I keep getting a message when listening to BBC radio saying that I’ll no longer be able to use the BBC sounds service on a smart speaker after mid 2023. It says to contact the manufacturer to resolve the issue. Anyone found a way to keep listening on a Sonos speaker?

I am setting up a new S2 system in a 2nd home. The system is all connected and working fine and I am trying to attached an established music library on a NAS drive which I used on the S1 system before for years with no problems. It is a big library with over 25,000 songs. When I attach to it I am told that I am connected and that it is scanning the library. After a few minutes it fails with a message that says: “//xxxxxxx/” is no longer available. The device where the music files are stored may not be powered on, or the path may have changed.” … meanwhile I am connected to that file share with no issues from various PC’s on my network. Sometimes it fails in 3-4 minutes, sometimes it runs 20 minutes and fails. The Buffalo NAS drive is always online and connected and has no issues.I have tried following the ridiculous advice: unplug all sonos devices, the nas and reboot the router and then when the router is back online power up the sonos and NAS devices and try again. I used my iPhone to play my music library over a Play3 speaker, but this latest time it could not see the Mac computer that had the library. I launched the Sonos controller on the Mac, and first it said “We found Sonos on your network”, but when I clicked “Let’s connect” it couldn’t find my system and it didn’t see my music library on the Mac. I rebooted the speakers, the router and the Mac and confirmed that everything was up to date. I checked the firewall settings and they are correct. I updated the Mac to OSX Ventura, uninstalled and reinstalled the Sonos controller- no change. I can see the speakers using the Sonos app on my iPhone. I know Apple sometimes adds security features without warning- I can’t figure this one out.

I have a Sonos 5 Gen 2 and a QNAP NAS drive with a music library on it. For many years it’s been happily operating as a Sonos S1 system, connecting through SMB1 to the QNAP media streaming service. A few months ago a QNAP update pushed SMB2 onto the NAS drive, and the S1 system wouldn’t talk to the NAS drive. I’m using the Sonos interface on a PC and I’ve uninstalled S1 from the PC, so only S2 is present. I’ve updated the Sonos 5 to S2 to try to get is working with the SMB2 on the NAS drive. It would start indexing the music library folder on the NAS drive, but bomb out quickly with the message “musicserverpath is no longer available. The device where the music files are stored may not be powered on, or the path may have changed”. I eventually tried emptying the media folder on the NAS drive, adding just a couple of folders of music, and then it would index OK. I added about 20 more  folders, and it would index OK. Added a further 20 and this message appears again when I try to inde

Is there still a known issue with the Android Sonos app where you get in a constant “reauthorize” loop with Apple Music?  I’ve tried everything I can think of to try but each time I go to Apple Music in the Sonos app it says I have to reauthorize. I then follow all the steps, successfully reauthorize, but then it once again tells me it needs to reauthorize. I do not have any iOS devices so I can’t use that as a workaround.

My SONOS speakers are constantly dropping off my Airplay list as an option in Apple Music.  It will try to connect that give me the minus (-) symbol in Apple Music and not play on the speakers.  Restarts of router and speakers often helps but I’m getting tired of this issue.  My speakers NEVER have a problem if I use the SONOS app to the same speakers.  It’s something with the implementation of AirPlay in my SONOS system.  Any ideas?

Not sure what has happened recently.I've been using the Sonos alarm function on the S2 app without an issue for a while. After the latest update from the play store, the alarm notification / interface overlay isn't there anymore. I no longer have the floating box that let's me close or snooze the alarm.Once my alarm goes off, I have to open the Sonos app and manually find the room playing the music and press stop.Any ideas what happed to the alarm interface? How do I get that working again? 

Whenever I try to search for “Purified Radio 123” (where 123 is the podcast number, with the current one being 343) within the Sonos app, I get a result from the Youtube Music service but when I click on it, it takes me to the artist’s page (Nora En Pure) which DOES NOT list the episodes.Youtube Music does have all the episodes when I search from their app. Without being able to use the Amp via bluetooth from phone directly, I cannot stream these episodes. This seems to be an app bug which did not exist with the Bluesound I had prior. Please fix or provide a suggestion.
