Controllers and Music services

I honestly don’t know why I bother with Sonos anymore. I’ve been a user since Connect Amp (which I still own) but it’s just become so difficult to use. Today I just want to change the wireless network on a Sonos S2 system. You open the app and there’s a banner at the top “Sonos and your mobile device must be on the same network. Let’s fix it. Great, that’s exactly what I want! Your mobile device is connected to NetworkName. Update your Sonos network settings to connect your products to this network. Awesome. Also what I want. I click “Update Network” I click “Find System” after a moment it says “Sonos not found. Make sure you’re signed in and your mobile device is connected to the internet and on the same WiFi as Sonos. Er...Sonos isn’t on any WiFi system. that’s what I came here to change! And I’ve completely left out the part where my S1 system was powered on. Honestly, this is f#$%^ing ridiculous 

There was a time when Sonos was an awesome product, but you’ve hit new lows with this one.Today I went to open the Sonos app and it was covered with a huge advert!Please understand, I have paid a lot of money for Sonos since 2006, I’ve replaced good equipment with functionally equivalent units just so they have enough memory to keep up with software updates I don’t want.Serving adverts within the product just makes you look incredibly greedy and desperate, and totally disrespecting the customer. No wonder people cherish the good old days of vinyl. I grew up in a world where hi-fi equipment didn’t start trying to sell me stuff when I was using it and my expectations have not changed.So let me put it plainly:My home is not a shop.My phone is not a shop.My hi-fi system is not a shop.Get your marketing people the hell away from all of these things!Since Googling it, I see I’m not the only pers

When I try add BBC Sounds to my services on Sonos I get an error that says ‘Check your network connection’. Adding all other services has worked fine, and I’m not having any issues playing from any services I have added so it only seems to be BBC Sounds. Is anyone else having this issue and know a fix? 

I use MyTuner, RadioPlayer and TuneIn to stream radio stations. Stations often remove themselves from some or all of these services. After many Google searches I cannot find anyone else who does what these 3 do. Is there a way of finding other radio station streaming services such as these?

Hi,  I am subscribed to Spotify, BBC sounds and Amazon music. I have previously been connected on Sonos with them, however Sonos told me they were no longer connected and wil not reconnect with anything. It will go through the process of authorisation, I'll get a positive answer from the host company, but on returning to the Sonos app, it tells me that there was an error connection. Hello all, I have long struggled with an issue where Sonos PC app will not correctly ingest my playlists.  I use iTunes to manage my playlists.  I have my iTunes xml file stored in the drive where my music library sits.  Every time the Sonos PC controller indexes the iTunes xml file, it skips a big chunk of my playlists, and I can’t figure out what the logic is on the playlists skipped.  Does anyone have a suggestion on how to force the Sonos controller to import ALL of the playlists from iTunes (around 50 to 60)?   Thanks.

I have a Sonos legacy system without any airplay devices. I want to add an airplay gateway device but I don’t want any speaker connected to it - I just want to be able to group it with my existing devices. Is this possible? What is the least expensive way to do it?

I’m having problems with signing in to Sonos on my iPhone app. I get a message ‘Let’s try that again something went wrong. Make sure your mobile device is connected to the internet and try again’My device is clearly connected to the internet since a) the app can both see and control my sonos system e.g. by starting and stopping music playing and b) the device happily browses the web, receives email etc.further more Sonos controllers on my other devices (iPad, Mac, and an alternative iPhone) all run successfully and can log on to my Sonos account.I have tried removing the app for the iPhone and reinstalling it, and restarting my Wi-Fi without any success.  any suggestions as to what the problem may be and how to fix it would be welcomed.

While you can still add custom URL radio stations using the usual desktop method, there is now no “My Radio Stations” under the NEW TuneIn, so any you add don’t seem accessible anymore. Am I missing something?

I use Sonos Move outside on the deck in the sun and in the shade.  I haven’t figured out how to change the default Night Mode to something I can see in daylight.  The IOS app has a Light Mode and a Dark Mode.  But, the option does not appear to be available on a Windows 11 PC.  I am using the latest version of Sonos Controller for PC v15.4.  I would like to change it from Dark Mode to Light Mode so I can see the scroll bars (which disappear on a bright day).Other than that, everything else is tickety-boo.

Sonos Roam needed an update but the iPhone App was returning an 1101 error - tried various suggestions per the articles but no luck. Speaker was working fine from the iPhone over bluetooth. However, I went into the iPad Sonos app and the update process worked fine and now the speaker is working again from both iPhone and iPad.Having thought about the differences beyond the iPhone app vs. iPad app - and I wish I had tested this first - is my iPhone is locked into a corporate VPN that is part of the policy protection mandated by the company I work for. My iPad is a personal device and does not have VPN by default. Anyone else seen similar? Might also be worth checking for others with the 1101 error that isn’t resolving otherwise.

I have been using a Sonos Amp hardwired to several speakers in our backyard for the past year. I generally use the Amazon Alexa App on my phone to play music on the Sonos Amp. The music information (Artist/ Song) has always shown up on the Sonos App when I’ve started playing music through Amazon Alexa. I’ve also had the ability to skip songs to the next song with the new Artist/ Song information Displaying in the Sonos App.Starting yesterday, when I start playing music from Amazon Alexa to the Sonos Amp the initial Artist/ Song info displays in the Sonos Amp, but if I skip to another song or the initial song is done playing the Artist/ Song info stops displaying in the Sonos App and I am unable to skip songs in the Sonos App. All that displays in the Sonos App is “Amazon Alexa.” I have no idea what has changed to cause this and any help to get it back to how it was a couple days ago would be greatly appreciated. Hi, I frequently listen to ambient/ chill out on Apple Music via AirPlay using private listening mode ( as don’t want those playlists to influence recommendations)  Would this be possible using Sonos app?I’m sure I’m not the only person who would like this feature, would be great to take advantage of atmos/ spatial instead of airplay 

Hi,Yesterday one of the regular updates came through on my system and I pressed the update button. One of my Play:3 speakers updated fine, the other gave the Error code 32 message that is in the title.I can’t use the one that failed the update, as it’s now trying to update each time I select that speaker and failing. Any idea how I can recover from the update that has just turned my speaker into a brick :p?Thanks.

It’s been a few days since I’ve played music on my Sonos system and evidently the app has updated.I no longer have the option to play the music that’s “on this device”.  What happened?  Why was this removed?  Is it coming back???I don’t use Spotify or YouTube Music.  I don’t know what Bandcamp is.  I want to be able to play the music that I own that’s on my phone.  And I don’t want to have to Line-In.  That was the beauty of the Sonos system and is why we invested in some speakers. This app is useless to me without the ability to play music from my phone.

Latest update I’m trying to install tonight is failing on all devices. I have a bit of a hodgepodge between beam arc and 2 amps.

I'm confused about "regular" radio stations I find listed as SONOS Radio "stations".  Are these streams coming to SONOS Radio via,a direct connection to those stations' own "streams", or is what I hear as a "SONOS station" actually coming from an intermediate connection, such as TUNEIN?  Specifically, the local public radio station here is KUAF at 93.1 FM.  Because it broadcasts using HD Radio, it has 3 different broadcasts going on simultaneously via its 93.1 FM dial location (i.e., 93.1-1, 93.1-2, & 93.1-3). I enjoy listening to KUAF's Jazz broadcast via 93.1-3.  Using SONOS Radio, I can listen to it via the SONOS Radio "station" designated as KUAF-3; OR, also via SONOS Radio, I can select the TUNEIN station, then play KUAF-3 from TUNEIN.  In 2 rooms, I don't have a SONOS speaker, so in those rooms I play KUAF-3 via TUNEIN on my Android phone through Bluetooth speakers.  Often there's a very brief time difference (maybe a second or 2) between what I

Hi everybody,I am using Sonos Amp and using it with App on Phone. I want to ask if my Sonos Account can be shared directly with family members? Can multiple devices sign-in with the same Sonos Account or do I have to add other members under the music streaming service?To clarify, I want when I leave the house, my family members can go to my Sonos Account that is already shared on their device and use Spotify to play.

Plan on purchasing new iPhone 14 Pro next week….How will i Hook the new phone up to my existing sonos arc and sub on my thats connected to my wifi.

I had the same issues before when updating the Controller for Mac, before.  Using macOS Ventura 13.2.1.Tried to update from the software itself, always stops saying error, try again. After 3x the same happens. Found a direct link from Sonos and downloaded 15.1 to my mac. But will not open and function.Grateful again for help please? I can not use my Controller for Mac at present.  

When playing movie or audio the volume slider allows to open settings and a window slides up on the IOS app. Right now only Bass, Treble, and Balance (if applicable). It would be great not to show only the EQ, but the Surround Audio, Height Audio, Sub Audio when it is available since it takes a lot of steps from the settings with the EQ to the settings icon, scrolling down to access the sound settings.

When in the System->Products page and selecting a product it would be great to switch the order of the settings from:Name, Products, Sound, Hardwareinto the following order:Name, Sound, Products, Hardware (switching the order of Products and Sound).This would allow easier access to the sound settings which is more used then the Product settings. Or make the Products and Hardware section able collapse and remember the settings. The Sound Controls are used more often then the product settings.

I moved my play 1 and Play 3 since when I have been unable to reconnect either.I can only use S1 as my phone does not support S2.The reconnection options on S1 are greyed out or are not present making the app useless.It appears that my only option is to purchase a new phone which supports S2 which I have no intention of doing.Should I sell or otherwise dispose of my speakers ?I should add that I have been visiting various outlets seeking advice, over about a three month period, to no avail 

This might be a strange question - I have a record player lined-in to the Sonos Five. Is there anyway to stream the music from the record player, via the Sonos Five, to the Sonos app itself, either on my Iphone or Mac? as if the Sonos app is another Sonos speaker?
