I have two Sonos system, one system with Sonos 2 app, and newer devices, and one system with Sonos 1 app and a connect device that does not funcion with Sonos 2 app.Since a couple of days Sonos is preventing me from using the Sonos 1 app. Instead they are showing a screen, instructing me to use the new Sonos app (which is impossible with the Connect device).Anyone else experincing this?

I know that Sonos speakers are limited to playback of 24/48 files.  I know that the Sonos system will convert 24/192, 24/96, 24/88.2 files to 24/48.  Does it also up convert 24/44.1. My real question is, is it better to allow the Sonos system to convert the files on the fly to the 24/48 resolution or would using a third party app to make the conversion to 24/48 prior to playback be a better option?  Would there be any gain/loss in performance and sound quality by converting those files prior to playback on Sonos equipment

Hi all, I’ve read a few comments where people have had similar experiences regarding loss of personally curated playlists, so assumed mine had disappeared into the Sonos ether for good, after  disastrous app update. I’d resigned I wouldn’t purchase Sonos again (6 speakers in!). However, just went to start over and when I went to add/save a song, all my previous playlists appear! I’m now hoping they’re still there somewhere but I just don’t know how I can access them? Any advice 🙏 

I would like to be able to switch between my favorite sources in a simpler way by having a “PLAY” option for each Sonos Favorite on the home screen rather than having to select the station then pick play. If you want to switch between stations currently it’s a couple unnecessary steps to go back to home, pick another station, then start playing that station. If you could pick “PLAY” somehow (like the added red play buttons below) for each station directly from this screen, you could much more easily switch stations if you don’t like a song or want to switch for another reason while simply staying on the same screen. 

Can’t tell you how disappointed I am with Sonos allowing  1st and 2nd gen products us on their apps - example I have a gen1 connect amp that ran my (bose500) outdoor speakers for many years.My daughter 18th birthday came along (hadn’t used them for 6 months)went to check all working, only to find the amp is not “compatible” with S1 app.myself anD my son (great tech knowledge) tried for hours to get to work, kept telling us to upgrade Sonos App only to find it timed out (we think because it couldn’t find compatible products, but that’s the point we could confirm ANYTHING.We then had to scramble for other music options.now I’m a fan of Bose and UE PRODICTS.so much easier and seamless to use.Sonos have the lost the plot. I wonder if this “non-comparability” issue is an attempt by Sonos to get me to upgrade, which I may well have done if this didn’t happen.there is literally nothing SONOS can do to getme spend another $ with them.see ya 

Why still no multi genre tag support?

As with many others, since last years software update I cannot use my music library properly. Album listings are all messed up and re- installing the library doesn’t change anything. I am also struggling to re add the library as Sonos insists on it being done as  local user, which I do not normally do. I log on with my microsoft account as I did before the update but all I get is error 913. I have logged on with a local account and get the same result. Folder sharing as a far as I can see is set up correctly. There is no sign of Sonos addressing this issue, they just appear to assume that everyone is streaming their music from the web. Any suggestions welcome.

Hi All,I have not seen this request.Unless I have overlooked this, I propose to Sonos developpers to add it: Sonos controller would be able to play a preview (10 seconds or user defined duration) of every track on a folder or on an album.At the time of Compact disc, some CD players (SONY, Technics, Onkyo, etc.) had this already 30 years ago.Probably an easy one to add. Can also add the functionality to play this discover mode with skips, say play all the songs in a folder or album with playing 10 seconds of a tracks by skips so we get to discover the beginning, the middle and the end of tracks. Very useful for DJ’s like. Currently doing it manually when preparing a show. It’s mind blowing the poor quality of the service you provide. I’m so tired of it.  How is it that every time I try to play music on my Roam I can’t! when I play music on my bean and other speakers through wifi and want to add my roam to the mix it doesn’t work. Whether through Spotify or Sonos app. I have to basically shut down everything and reset the Roam for it to play. What kind of tech is this? After so many complaints from customers and still buggy app.  You guys were supposed to add the controls from the lock screen. Nope still nothing. Even in the control center it doesn’t show up. (IOS) the app is useless. I 99% avoid it at all cost. Unless I have to connect a Roam. and yes I have renamed my Sonos profile F***sonos  because I’m so pissed about the services   Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct. 

Can you guys seriously listen to the consumer?! I see several feature request for a schedule, timer, or auto shut off for Night Sound and Speech Enhancement?! Since having a kid it’s constantly left on for days sometimes weeks till I wonder why my system sounds off then remember to check. The worst of it for Sonos is that I’ve tried to show off my system a couple times to family/friends while wondering why it didn’t have the kick or immersive sound only to realize after the fact that those settings were left on. I see several community and Reddit posts requesting this feature spanning several years. It longer feels like a nice to have feature and more of a nuisance at this point.

I can’t “heart” Apple Music songs in the Sonos app, like I might be able to in SoundCloud, which shows the heart next to the song title in the same screen that contains album art and music controls (play, pause, seek, etc).

This is driving me crazy. I’ve got Spotify desktop app open on Win10. I can play an album or playlist fine, in the order I want. Shuffle options are OFFAs soon as I use the Spotify app to “Connect to a device” (in this case a Roam sitting next to the laptop) the queue completely changes and the SHUFFLE option turns on in Spotify. If I disconnect the Roam, the shuffle feature turns back off and the queue reverts back to normal.What is going on?To compound matters, the exact same thing happens if I use the iOS version of the Spotify app yo connect to the Sonos Roam. If I choose to play the music on the phone, it reverts back to the normal order. If I try to launch the playlist from from the desktop Sonos app (ver 16.6  S2  83161210) I just get “the connection to Spotify was lost” error message.  It’s unusable. I’ve tried uninstalling the Spotify service, reinstalling it again too.If I try to use the Sonos ios app, the same thing.

Hi everyone. Hopefully someone can assist me. I have a number of issues with the playback with my system but today my question concerns the Sonos app. The Brennan will send 20 music tracks to Symfonisk and start to play. The album art is displayed on the “now playing” page along with the Artist/Track information. However the queue does not show any information only 20 placeholders. Actually it does display the animated “playing” bars for the track now playing and advances to the next track when it should. If the artwork and track information is available to the “now playing” page why is it not showing in the queue? I have tried the Windows app and it shows everything. The artwork and track information is clearly visible. I’m thinking it’s an app problem but is it a setting that I’ve missed? Any suggestions?

Simple question - why is the Sonos app so slow? When I open Apple Music or Spotify, there is no loading time. The Sonos app seems to be 5-10 seconds. Even clicking on a platform source and finding a song is slower. I can’t put my finger on it, but it just isn’t snappy like other services.  my alternative is to have Apple Music send directly to my Sonos speakers, but it doesn’t appear to play Atmos if I do that.  is there any chance Sonos will make their app as fast as the service apps, or allow me to send Atmos to my 300s?

Seems recently, within the most recent Sonos app update (80.20.35) I have noticed cutting out on one or more speakers within my system only when streaming Apple Music with a track in Hi_Res or ~Lossless format. Sometimes the speakers bounce from one to the other or cutout intermittently and then temporarily come back. (6 One SL’s, 1 Move, 1 Sub Gen2) All speakers on Wi-Fi - 5GHz (eero mesh)When this cutting out occurs I can see the Wi-Fi radio analytics spike to a ‘congested’ state within my eero mesh system. Streaming any of the other music services I used in the native Sonos app (Amazon music, Sonos Radio, iHeart, Sirius XM, ReListen) do not cause intermittent cut-outs or issues when streaming.When I stream to my Sonos speakers via AirPlay directly from the Apple Music app I do not have the speakers cutting out intermittently when a track is streaming Lossless or Hi_Res.This issue just came up in the most recent app update or perhaps it was the update before last week I noticed the i

When playing music from Apple Music in the Sonos app (not AirPlay), most tracks seem to correctly apply album-based loudness normalization. That’s great! However, if the song is only in Cloud Music Library (i.e. uploaded from my Mac and unavailable to be matched in Apple Music), no normalization is applied, and the song can be wildly louder or quieter, which makes the Apple Music–Sonos integration completely unusable for me, especially if I want to shuffle a playlist of mixed sources, which may have me frantically running for the volume slider between each track.These Cloud Music Library tracks have normalization data (iTunNORM tags) in them, whether scanned by Apple Music when adding to the library, or by a third party app. Apple Music has used iTunNORM tags since it was called iTunes, and it has always worked fairly reliably in Apple Music’s iOS apps (except when Apple randomly introduces AirPlay bugs, which they occasionally deign to fix). When I open the Sonos App, go to Amazon Music Service > My Music > Albums and choose an album from my Amazon library, no play, shuffle controls appear. This just started this last week or so and I’ve tried the usual: signing in and out, reinstalling, reauthorizing Amazon Music.  Anyone have the same issue? Support for Amazon and Sonos drew a blank and pointed fingers at each other.   

why can’t sonos keep various artist albums in one folder under compilations like it use to. every compilations album is now split into single songs.

How do I give my daughter access to control music selections on my Sonos system

My music library disappeared after the May update like many other people. Tried all of the solutions put forward by other people but none worked. Decided to give up and find other systems that would play my music library in the Sonos sound bar. Recently decided to see if Sonos had solved my problem. There was now an update your music library key. Not sure if that was there before or not but tried it anyway. It seemed to work, but then came up with the message that it was indexing my library. It has now been indexing for a week and so I still cannot access my library. Any suggestions, not very computer literate so no compilated solutions.  

I primarily use my Sonos setup to play music from my network-attached storage. However, when browsing content by artist, only the most recent 99 releases are accessible. This means that, unless I know specifically what to search for, I’m unable to access the majority of content for the more prolific artists in my collection. It totally ruins the times you want to scroll through a list of releases for inspiration when deciding what to play. Is there any chance this arbitrary limit will be revised or, ideally, removed?

My Bufflow NAS drive stopped working due to SMB(!) issues, but did work perfectly with Windows 11 to stream music, approx 18 months/2yrs ago. I have since purchased MacBook Air laptop and need to purchase a new NAS drive to transfer music for iCloud, to again stream. I’d appreciate anyone who’s done this, advising which NAS drive they are using, I’m ok with reasonably simple setups, but nothing too complicated…. I don’t expect recommendations but would like to know what works with MacBook and SONOS… all a bit of a minefield…. Thanks in advance 

Can I reset Sono's system to out of box settings to get rid of an old Apple Music login that is no longer accessible? 

Prior to the app update, I would often use the “Go to album” function a lot. Its useful if you can only remember the name of a track from an album rather than the album name, its useful for exploring albums within playlists, etc. and in general it was just a useful and easy to use feature.The alternative, of ‘Go to Artist’ then scrolling through sometimes dozens of albums is clunky and frustrating. I’ll often end up literally googling an album name to search for that rather than finding the album in the app itself. Why is this seemingly very simple, but very useful feature still missing 12 months after the app update?
