Controllers and Music services

I’m trying to figure out how I can access MY music that I’ve purchased over the last several years, using the new Sonos app/system. I’m not a big techie guy. But, the new app/system seems to have made it impossible to connect my Sonos system (14 speakers throughout my house) to my music library on my iMac via iTunes. It’s SO frustrating. Can anyone help?

Just upgraded the controller on MacOS today (now version 16.2, S2, 79052294, 135275309)Music Library disappeared and trying to re-add it gives“Unable to add the shared folder “//MACBOOKPROB277/Music” to your Music Library (1002).This is after turning on File Sharing and giving read/write to Everyone, otherwise it would be stuck on “permissions”.   My setup was working perfectly before today without file sharing turned on.

Unable to login as the system owner. I’ve had the same devices on the same internet, under the same profile, for four years.

I want to go find a particular artist or album in my library.  There used to be an alphabet directory on the side so I didn’t have to scroll through thousands of albums to find the one I want.  This would seem to be a simple thing to fix and I know it has come up before on this forum but I don’t see it now.  Why can’t you fix this?  

The common theme through many of your responses are that SONOS users are unhappy due to resistance to or discomfort with change. In fact customer dissatisfaction comes from the fact that you have taken away a number of features that we had avallable before the new app. I listen to music every day, yet you promise to fix these missing features in a month or so!!? How patronizing. How arrogant of you. What do I listen to in the meantime? Your words ring hollow. You have redesigned the app to accommodate streamers only. Why won’t you just admit that. We can all see that you are dissembling. I sold all of my SONOS stock today, and I will be looking for alternatives that suit the way I listen to music.

I recently updated Sonos app and it is totally useless. Will not play my playlist. No search facilities for artists /albums /songs ! Anyone else have this problem?

The App does not workThe app is simply not working. I HATE IT. I cant control volume. I choose volume and then apply!! It lags like crazy. It is unusable. I am on samsung and my wife is on  iphone. Same experience. I can now only control through Alexa. I am really annoyed! I have had sonos for over 10 years and now feel like throwing them out the back window. Yes, the app is updated. I am factory reset all devices. They show up but lag is insane. I now hate my sonos products. So annoyed!!!

New client question. The old client allowed me to display over 300 directories or albums under a single artist. In the new client the list gets truncated at around 60 albums. Is this number going to increase? The albums all show under the media library albums list so I know they are seen by sonos. 

Brand new Sonos Amp newly configured and setup to play Spotify playlist at 11:00 AM CST, but it starts playing Bob Marley at 6:00 AM CST. I don’t know how it is doing that as I have never setup an alarm to start music at 6:00 AM, ever!

Hey all,I recently moved homes (which includes a new TV as well) and found that the “Spatial Audio” or “Dolby Atmos” audio badges are no longer showing on streaming platforms despite having it before. It currently shows 5.1 for all audio levels on shows. I have a full system (Arc, Era300 (2x), Sub Gen 3) and have been enjoying spatial audio films for several months in my previous home so I know it isn’t due to the streaming platforms subscription levels.The TV settings are set to “digital output audio… - Dolby Digital” and I haven’t seen anything within my SONOS app that makes me think it is anything there that I can adjust. The Arc soundbar is connected to the ARC port in the TV.As for settings in the app, all speakers are connected in a group and have had Trueplay optimized. Surround audio is on and so is Spatial Music.  Any help on this? Thanks! TV Model - Samsu

Hi Folks,Long time Sonos advocate here and, have to say, generally over the years I have found performance of the old S2 App to be flawless.  However, I installed the recent App update on Android about 3 weeks ago and since then, the performance has dipped.  Adding songs to playlists or, even making volume changes appear to take about 15-20 seconds to be actioned by the speakers.  I’ve uninstalled the App, reset my router and made changes to the 2.4 Ghz networks that Sonos recommend - all to no avail.  I am running 3 separate Room setups (but have done so for years) and in each case, performance is the same.  Last evening (as an example) I was adding music via the Sonos app from Spotify to my 2 x Play 3 Stereo pair and had to wait at least 20 seconds for the tracks to start playing.  In the end, I resorted to using the Spotify app directly and pushing the music to my Sonos speakers which seemed to be much better (but not perfect).I have a TP-LINK AX6000 ro

When will I be able to downgrade the firmware on my old Play 3 from S2 to S1 please?

However, when the app was actually released, it was, and somewhat remains, a disaster. As a certified Sonos fanboy/hacker/almost-employee I'm going to try and explain what happened, as best I can based on my reverse engineering skills, honed over the last decade and more of creating independent Sonos apps. How The "Old" App WorkedSonos speakers have been the Gold-standard UPnP device since their creation. I remember around 2005 the lobby to Microsoft Building 50, which was the home of the Windows Media Division at that time, was completely full of boxes of Sonos devices. It was being used as the definitive test device for the engineers adding UPnP support to Windows.

Most of my favourite radio stations disappeared from TuneIn and MyTuner this morning.Most of them are still there on the MyTuner website but not in the MyTuner list on Sonos.I am supposed to be able to add the streaming URL using the “add radio station” in the Sonos setup but it always returns “not encoded properly” when I try.Does anyone know what hapened? Have these streaming services fallen out with Sonos or have they removed loads of radio stations?

Does anyone know where how the above works after today’s update? Only I can’t find it arm.

Every time SONOS has a software update it kills my network attached or locally attached drives that contain my music - why do they do this crap?  Do you bother to even test before you release?

I now can't play all three of my Sonos devices at the same time. "Try again later" Yet they all play perfectly fine on their own.   I convinced my mum to buy my dad a Sonos system for his birthday, lauding the hardware and the software. Guess when his birthday is? May 8th. Now I look like the idiot son.  I can't believe how much damage you've done to previously good product. 

The recent update has destroyed my music experience. As soon as I start a song once at a speaker start going up in volume the other one is off. 30 seconds later the other one comes on and my other two fade to zero. This happens for the first 2 minutes of the song and again towards the end in the beginning of the next songs. Can't access the EQ next to the volume controls anymore but more so the speakers and the app now have multiple quirks to the point or I'm using my Bluetooth speaker and my phone to play music. I need them to pay to get the geek squad or somebody out here to fix this. I've called multiple times and stayed on the phone for hours trying to resolve this. Didn't work!I'm extremely disappointed.!!!

iPhone 7 running iOS 14.7, downloaded Sonos S2 app, finally was able to downgrade my AMP.

Anybody experiencing the issue where the song shown as playing in the app is actually the previous song to the one Actually playing?
