Controllers and Music services

Since the updates I have two massive issues now, firstly I can only play one speaker at a time. I have 4 speakers in 4 rooms and we could all listen to whatever we wanted but now only one song can be played on one or if they are grouped together, I use Spotify, anyone have the same issue or know how to fix it? Second, playlists, you cannot edit playlists anymore (or at least I can't) I find the playlist so laggy now as well. I'm thinking of ditching the Sonos speakers as the updates have ruined them

The new app is very slow and saved playlists cannot be played, "play this song next" are disappearing. How long is it going to take for everything to work properly again and will we get our money back if it stays this bad.  

I hope someone can shed some light on my situation with Apple Music streaming through the Sonos app. Before the S2 app was rebuilt for the Ace Headphones, everything worked fine, I could create and label playlists, stream as many songs as I wanted, it just worked as I expected.  Now when I stream albums I find I’m limited to 19 albums and just 51 songs, when I try to add any more I get a message that the Sonos Favorites is full.  I’m streaming to my iphone 12.  Anyone else notice this limitation?  I assume this is being worked on by the Sonos team, please tell me its going to be fixed.Thank you, John W Ellis

​​​​​​I have updated the Sonos IOS app on just ONE of my IOS devices (thankfully).My overall impression of the new Sonos IOS app is that it is missing quite a bit of functionality that was available in the old app. I therefore suspect there will be quite a backlash from existing users until Sonos address some of these issues.For what it is worth, here is my initial list of issues/questions…1 - There are issues with the Rova service on the new app. When you click on Rova via the “Your Services” rail nothing shows.My other IOS devices that are still using the old Sonos app correctly show the list of Rova Station selections as expected.2 - Related to the above point, when searching for a radio station. e.g. “The Sound” the Rova stations do not show in the results and the Rova service icon in the search rail shows with a “!” icon next to the service name. Doing the same search using the old app correctly returns the Rova stations in the search resul

Help please from anyone, running S2 app on my system samsung s22... I reinstalled the app in an attempt to be able to play something on my system... Mix if new and old S2 compatible speakers... Now the app won't open at all due to a 'Bug'... Anyone have any solutions... SONOS was epic this app is destroying any credibility you had destroying a very expensive system 

Hi. I see that the alarm function has been restored after some outrage but in my iOS app it is not functioning. I try and add an alarm and it just doesn’t create one. Is there a solution to this please?

I must be missing something on how groups (S2 system, new app) work...please tell me how to do it right! I have about 12 sonos products in my home.  Often, I run most of them in a single group called “inside” which includes all but 2 of the products.  I group them together using the “inside” group.  In the evenings, I want to cut it back to just 3 of the products, so I try to select just the “small” group, but that just turns off those speakers within the “inside” group.  The only way I’ve found to reduce the number of speakers in a group is to first click “everwhere”...twice...first to select everything, then to select nothing, then click the “small” group.  Well...I suppose I could “uncheck” 8 speakers one at a time too...but that’s seems silly when groups are supposed to make this all easier..So much fiddling can’t be right!  Please tell me a more efficient way to do this.

I am in Italy and I can no longer connect to radio stations via Tuneln, it seems that it has become paid, has anyone had similar experiences?Thank you

Sonos after May update not allowing SMBv1 only SMBv2-3how about Apple AFP protocol on a nas?

Mortified to discover that it is no longer possible to play tracks stored on the PC in the iTunes Library over the SONOS system. We were planning to upgrade our SONOS speakers and Sub. Now researching alternate manufacturer. So sad that we have reached this state of affairs.

I am using my Sonos Beam. It looks like a new  version of the Sonos app was automatically downloaded to my phone last night(it's now black instead of gold). In the new version, the app does not seem to be finding "Recently Played" or other things like playlists that I have set up on Sonos. If you look at the screenshot below, you can see gray squares and lines where it looks like content is supposed to be but apparently is not getting pulled in. Seems like I need to connect something, but not sure what.I am still able to get to Amazon Music and my Amazon Music playlists, but I cannot see the playlists I created on Sonos itself (on the old app there was a star that I could click for that). I know there is currently an issue with Amazon Music, but I don’t seem to be having any problem getting to Amazon Music.Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!Cheers,Burt

I have very limited functionality using my main music service- YouTube Music. I’m no longer able to create or edit playlists. I can only add songs to Sonos favorites. I’m honestly very frustrated.

This was always an issue when I was downloading new versions of the Mac Desktop controllers.Every. Single. Time.  I received the attached error message when trying to download the new desktop controller.  The “fix” from Sonos engineers was to go to the site and download it there.Glad they’re on the case.  Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.

Just updated my Mac controller to V16.3Music Library, which had been working is now empty. 

what sonos is doing is that they want your location, and it does not matter to them.Sonos is a speaker and local access from my phone to the speaker is all that’s needed to stream .This is an inconvenience. I use VPN as a form of protection . I pay for my subscriptions and sonos is just a casting service. Sonos is getting more and more intrusive for a speaker company . 

Prior to updating the app, I had a number of custom streaming radio stations whose URLs I had painstakingly curated using the (old) TuneIn service.After updating the app, where are they? Gone!Does the new app have the ability to configure streaming radio by URL? Nah, I didn’t think so. 

I tend to use the Sonos Windows desktop app as I work from home and it is easy for me to pause the music although I now sometimes use the voice command but does not work well when music is at a high volume. However, I seem to be having trouble re-authorising the Apple app.A week ago my Sonos desktop app asked to be re-authorised.My new shiny Sonos IOS app continued to work okay but I re-authorised it anyway Took about 3 attempts before I could play  using the desktop app. Now not even a week later the destkop app is aksing to be re-authorised again.I have done it again but it still wont play. In between it has been working okay and my IOS app still works on Apple music Thoughts?

Hi How do I create a song queue in the new sonos app?  Am I doing something wrong .  I used to pass the phone around at gatherings and everyone used to add songs to the queue.   Or I’d find an artist and play the top tracks list.   Have both of these features vanished, these were my main ways of listening , or am I doing something wrong? If these features have vanished is there any work around or third party controllers so I don’t have to use the sonos app?

I want to clear the queue on my now playing screen, but it does not give you the option to clear ?I have tried calling Sonos but unable to get throughPlus since the new update, I’ve had nothing but troubleand you can never get through to Sonos when you want to speak to somebody I’ve had my system for many years now, I’m getting to the stage I’m actually fed up with  the system as it doesn’t work right They need to get their act together you pay all this money for speakers  and  you have all this trouble 😡 

Since the update to version 80.04.04, the RadioPlayer no longer works. "An error has occurred with Radioplay, please try again later." It is currently not possible to listen to the local radio station via Sonos. Please urgently request a bugfix.System iOS App.Best regards Sandra

Just installed the iPad version. Definitely do not like the app compared to the old one.The new app feels way more busier, due to everything being thrown at you at once (which was their design intention). I’m not saying this approach can’t work though. I’m just saying that the way they designed it, it doesn’t feel right.In terms of the look and feel, it feels less stylish to me and more cheap. Like it feels like I’m using the Amazon Alexa app (which I hate). The album covers are smaller and not as pronounced, compared to the previous apps recents area.And the Now Playing screen on the iPad?! Like WTF? Why is there a gap around it showing the interface area behind it (ie Home area)? Why isn’t it full screen (and without rounded corners)? Makes zero design sense, as it’s super distracting, only adding to the busy feeling of the screen. Also see no option to make the app dark instead of light.All said and done, this just makes me want to not use the app at a

Hi, I’ve installed iPadOS 18 public beta and have tried to play atmos music via airplay2 to my Era 300 but it’s only playing stereo. Does Sonos need to perform an update to enable Airplay Atmos, or is this an Apple restriction?Thanks,Richard

Has anyone heard anything at all one way or another from Sonos about the new app: defending it, giving updates on return of missing features to new app, possibility of rolling back to old app, full apology, etc.?  I have not seen or heard anything myself other than their own backslapping on social media sites and on the top of their own website.  I kind of feel like they just don't care about us existing customers and hope that this whole new app total failure "expletive"-storm blows over.  I, for one, feel so let down by their "just don't care” attitude toward their customers that it would be hard for them to recover my loyalty and trust.  Some of the missing features, like playlist and queue management and the playing of my local NAS-stored music, are absolute show stoppers for me and will drive me to quickly find an alternative to Sonos for my hard-earned sound system buying dollars.
