Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

I have previously just used Amazon Prime to stream music. Usually from their playlists. Good selection of current music, and effectively free as had Prime for deliveries. With the recent “upgrade” it is no longer a viable service. So what do people recommend for streaming? I’ll be a low volume user, and don’t need the HD type of service. Just need something I can play current music, see what is coming next, and skip songs I don’t like!I am thinking Apple Music, Deezer or Spotify, but there may be better. Won’t “upgrade” Amazon out of principle. They ruined a perfectly good service, presumably to make more money, and it not as if the company is struggling! Don’t know if it matters, but I am UK based.
If I add a Boost to my (S1 SonosNet mesh) system that uses a Bridge: Will the Boost increase signal range so that my CR-200 won’t struggle to find the signal. If so, how do I use the Boost? Do I have my system “find” it and then I just plug it in midway between the Bridge and where I use the CR-200?Thanks in advance for your help.
Hey there. My Sonos products are set to update overnight. However, all of my Ones sans one can't be used and marked as "updating" in the app. It's been this way all day. According to this page (https://support.sonos.com/en/article/sonos-led-lights) they should be flashing orange and white. They are not.I've rebooted my router and unplugged the faulty Ones and plugged them back in. No avail. Can I just cancel this update? What's going on here?
Good Morning Sonos Community, We have a number of Sonos devices being installed into a corporate environment - is there any way of having an Admin override on the APP for master control Cheers
I have a number of devices in my house (Arc, Beam, Amps, Ones,...). Some are in my living room, dining room, TV room, each kid’s rooms, gym, patio,… I would like to limit the ability of kid 1 to connect to device in kid 2’s room (accidental or on purpose). Basically I would like to give my kid 1 access to sonos in their room and TV room. Kid 2 to sonos in their room and TV room. For me and wife I would like unlimited access to all sonos devices including Kid1 and Kid2 room systems. I don’t see this ability in the sonos app. I can’t believe that sonos has not invested some resources in to this feature. How can customers put in a feature request?
Subject line pretty much sums it up. Trueplay “loses” speaker. They’re all there making noises. Arc, sub + 2 play:3’s. i know this subject has been addressed before, but the Sonos ppl shut it down before useful advice appears. (Why do they do that? Just leave it open until the problem is solved.)
As title. Can login on the web version (hence i can write this question!), but can’t login to use my Andriod app. I have reset the password multiple times, have uninstalled the app, have reset the app, have tried to set up a new account… None of these things worked. Help please! Many thanks
Anyone updated yet?Any issues?
The Sonos app seems to have been updated and has put Sonos radio at the top of my search results instead of Spotify. How can I revert back or better still remove the Sonos radio all together?
I frequently want to search for music from specific record labels. In Spotify this is very easy. I can search for label:universal and then I will see music from Universal Music. If I use the Sonos app (on Android in my case) the same search criteria returns nothing.I would expect the Sonos app to allow me to do the same search as I can in Spotify. Is this a bug/feature missing in the Sonos app?
Hi, I’ve been experiencing a bug on my Sonos One players recently.I’ll select a song that I want to play using the Sonos controller app and then select the repeat song button (tapping the repeat button twice so that the icon with the 2 arrows and the ‘1’ inside the circle appears). The song will play normally during the first playthrough, but after that, the song always skips after the first 19 seconds (this is very consistent). Sometimes an error will display in the Sonos app about an unsupported encoding, sometimes nothing shows up.I’ve used both the iOS app and the macOS app and get the same results. FWIW, the song is this one from Spotify. My workaround is to create a playlist with at least 2 songs and then have that playlist play on repeat, which for whatever reason seems to stop the bug from happening.Any help would be appreciated. If nothing else, I just want to make sure the Sonos team sees this bug report. Thanks!
Future request.I would like the option to lock the entire groups volume, so that adjusting the volume on any grouped speaker would adjust the volume for the entire group. This would work in the same way as the master volume in the app does. As far as I know, this is not possible now?
Has anyone noticed that when you choose 'All Artist Tracks' from Amazon Music it only shows the first Album in the library, rather than all of them?
Hi,I find that with the amazon music apps, rarely, but sometimes the sound increases by itself by about 40%, and most often it is 5 seconds before the end of a song. Problem between Amazon and Sonos system? Just Amazon streaming service problem? What do you think about that? Thanks
I have been having MAJOR issues since February 2022 related to SONOS Playlist appearing and disappearing from the iPhone APP. I have an open case and have worked with technical support and no resolution has been found. This use to work with S1 hardware but since updating to S2 it has not worked correctly. When will this be fixed?
Where can I find the configuration for setting the default volumelevel?
I know the repeat flag stays on for a playlist between usages of the Sonos system, however when I switch to a new playlist, the repeat flag switches off. How do I globally set Sonos so that it repeats my playlists by default?
Now that Sonos is offering their Sonos Radio music source I am curious if there is any benefit to listeners to switch over from Tunein for the same station?
My High Sierra Mac Pro crashes every time when it attempts to update from 11.5, could that be because the latest version does not work on High Sierra?Astounding that Sonos does not seem to provide basic info like this on their site.
Why is Sonos lacking the Chromecast functionality, which basically every 100€ WiFi speaker has. It makes it impossible to use YouTube music ( you have to open the Sonos controller and control it from there instead of just pressing the cast button) and it makes using the Google Assistant unnecessarily cumbersome. You have to specify the speaker after a voice command instead of being able to simply set Sonos as a default speaker. That not enough, it also makes it impossible to cast all audio to Sonos. Sonos always talks about being open and support all platforms, yet after waiting a year longer than Airplay 2 users (which got supported as soon as the service got released), we get a shitty, half-assed service lacking basic functionality. Sonos basically incentivizes people to switch to Google Home Max et al, to use get the full capability from the services.
I know you add/authorize Amazon Music as service, but can Sonos differentiate, and or prioritize playing downloaded songs from you Amazon Music library? (My theoretical scenario is if your internet connection speed is slow, can you play your downloaded Ultra HD Amazon Music without buffering or loading?)
Does "Search" on the Sonos app look through all items in the subscribed services? I mean those which are listed under "Browse" in the app. Here is an example of the omissions I find. I am in the UK and my subscribed services in the Sonos app include TuneIn, MyPlayer Radio, Radioplayer, and Sonos Radio. The radio station "Absolute 80s" is a UK station carried by TuneIn, MyPlayer Radio and Radioplayer, as I can verify from their web sites. However when I search on the Sonos app for "Absolute 80s" it lists only Radioplayer. What I am trying to establish is how comprehensive the "Search" facility is and whether I always need to painstakingly look through the services under "Browse" to see all the options for streaming. PS: I am using Sonos S2 app on Android.
I got an email saying Sonos added two new stations. When I try to find them I get nothing. I can find them on the website as well. Here is a link to them: https://radio.sonos.com/stations/forest-sounds https://radio.sonos.com/stations/ocean-sounds I restarted the app, reauthorized the sonos radio channel etc, no new updates. I use sonos rain all the time but would like to try out others, thanks
Any time I adjust something ...volume, change stations ...any interactive change to the app on the mac, then minimize the app. After about 15-30 seconds it pops up again. How can I stop this? Thanks, JA
