Controllers and Music services

I know you have heard it all , but the new app renders the system virtually unusable. I have 2 systems at 2 different properties.  Have used the system since you began 20 years ago.  Always raved about it , have probably 25 devices.  Always tell everyone to bet the system.  But this new app missed the mark on so many levels.  I am hoping there is a fix for the slowness/ clunkiness, lack of functionality and lost features asap.  As it stands it renders the system basically unusable.  

The latest Sonos software has permanently deleted access to my local music library which is stored on a rather ancient network hard drive that I had dedicated for this purpose. Unfortunately Windows 10 will not connect to this drive, calling it insecure. I have an old Windows laptop that WILL connect to it and manage it, BUT I don’t have Sonos software installed on it. Sonos App version 13.1 is the most recent Windows version of the controller app that can be installed on a Windows 7 computer. Is there any place that I can get hold of this or an earlier version? I only need it to reinstall the network link to my music library that got lost in the latest round of app updates. For other purposes I’ll use the more updated software on my iPad, iPhone, and Windows 10 and 11 PCs. All was well previously…Thanks!

Nearly all setting are greyed out in my s1 app I use. I have a pc connected to a gen 1 Connect and two new Play Ones. I have this working via my Tablet which only has the S1 app installed. On my phone with both apps the S1 app just tells me sod you, open s2. Audio kit should last longer than this Sonos. It’s pricey stuff. Support your customers maybe.

Why doesn’t the new app allow me to to tap in the left or right of the master volume slider to adjust the volume by a single increment? I hate that the new app only allows this via the inaccurate action of finger dragging only.  please bring back a + and. - for the volume please.

Is there any way with Sonos to “lock” two or more songs to play in specific within a playlist or queue?  In other words, if “shuffle” is selected, can two songs be chosen to always play together despite shuffle?  (I know I can always play the same queue in the same order without shuffle - just wondering if there is any way to “lock” songs together.)

I am able to airplay BBC Sounds to my beam and the connected subs.  There is sound and I can control volume.  However, in the turd new app, the BBC sounds isn’t showing up as the service that is playing thus I cannot connect to my play 1 nor play 3 speakers.   any suggestions?  I’m no tech idiot but this new app is a turd.  A rubiks cube is easier to solve  

Since the app I have not seen my Sonos playlists. From what I have read the ability to create or edit playlists is not available but should I be able to see and play these playlists? If you can see and play your playlists did you have to do anything to regain that ability? I have figured out how to get my library back and can play a track from it but the playlists has me baffled.

Inability to  access (on iPad) my home music via a QNAP NAS following the latest Sonos software update.Following a Sonos chat I followed the advise to log on to Sonos via a computer (from which I had no problems) and delete my connection to the NAS and then re-connect. I did this and after a long delay while the library was rebuilt the connection was there on the computer but not on my ipad. Any advise would be welcome.

My wife was kicked off our Sonos system and now she can’t get back on? when I try to connect her from her phone it says no Sonos found on our network. ive tried everything.  Please help!

As of this morning (after a usual short delay while it tries to recognize my system, and icons start populating over the course of a few minutes), I could finally see a shared library on my network… and I could direct music to speakers!  Big win!  Then this afternoon, I noticed another app update ready on the Android Play Store: 80.02.07-release+20240605…updated it with the hopes of continued improvement, but now the app will no longer recognize the network/devices.  it launches with a big:NO PRODUCTS FOUNDIt just sits there… at least with the other version, sometimes it would take up to 10-15 seconds before it finally realized there’s speakers on the network. I’ve already tried uninstall/reinstall/clear cache/data… reboot router, etc. I’ve gone into system settings and try to find products. Nothing. Does the new update download automatically? I can’t find the option to update. 

Just set up the system for the first time and authorized Apple Music. Sonos radio will play through the speaker, but Apple Music will not even though it’s authorized and shows all playlists from my account. I push the play button, the Sonos app thinks for a few seconds, and then Does not play 

Can you at least give us the ability to close the advertisement easily on an iPad, for crying out loud it easily took 20 attempts for me to close it. This is the second time I’ve seen the ad and had the same issue.

Hi there! Since a couple of weeks, there’s finally Lossless streaming from Apple Music. Hurray! The only problem: It’s not working on my older speakers (Playbar, Play:1, Play:3). Is there somewhere an official list of which speakers Apple Music Lossless is supported? Also: all Sonos players are capable of playing lossless audio. Why doesn’t it work on these older models? (Amazon and Tidal do play lossless on older hardware) I hope it gets added in the near future! 

 I’m having lost of problems with it. the conexion is bad with the system, it’s more xomplicated and the selection of the rooms always have problems. i have 11 speakers at home and I can not enjoy my system since the update

I made the critical mistake of accidentally upgrading to 80.0 FML 😡Am I missing something, what happened to the much celebrated eq shortcut which then had quick access to the speaker settings for things like sub levels? Where is then system information in setting to see what version I’m running and each speakers network info? The UI/UX is so terrible. What a massive step back in usability.   

Not counting prior issues/problems/up-down grades to the apps/equipment in the past.How many hours of your personal time have you spent trying to play audio/music from your Sonos whole-home-wireless-audio system with the new app?  4hrs + and counting here...YOU?

These are the two music services I utilized the most on Sonos and they are gone? Starting to to wonder if I shouldn’t look for an alternative to Sonos as between the loss of streaming services and the garbage new App I am starting to wonder why I bother with this system. I can just mirror everything from my iPad to my stereo and get rid of all the expensive Sonos products….

After I lost the use of my I-phone controller to this poorly engineered “upgrade,” it appears my Roam speaker will not connect unless I “upgrade” the controller. I can run the rest of my system without it. Will this new requirement as of a day ago cause me to lose what functionaity I have? I have been using TuneIn streaming. Am I at risk to Sonos-only that you folks can charge for?

I want to downgrade my play 3 to S1 but in the Sonos 1 app I end up with thank you and you can upgrade to S2 and in the S2 app I cannot find the option downgrade to S1 as I follow the instructions on the website. How can I downgrade?

In the new app, LivePhish now seems to be working pretty well (or no worse than other parts of the new app).  I can mostly get playlists to work.  But I noticed that when you play an album it isn’t showing the album name (which is really the date of the show).  See screenshot. 

Hi @Corry P / @Jamie A / @Sotiris C., so many issues with the new app and so many threads, that I don't know if this one has been discussed yet, so I would like to report it to be sure it’s on the backlog:I use Amazon Music and I listen mostly to their Stations. When I play a Station, the Station name doesn't appear on Now Playing, just Song and Artist names.In 16.1 and before it always appeared. Could you add it to the bug backlog, please?Thanks

Aften updating to the new Sonos App, Lots of my favorits are gone or dosent work any more. I have had contact to helpdesk, but they couldn’t help. It’s still not possible to search for music! I have been very glad for my Sonos, but with no help and an App there doesn’t work. It’s still not possible to search across my music services. When are Sonos going to do something about it or fx. Roll this bad update back? 

Like many, I found the removal of the alarm functionality with the new app roll out really annoying. I rang SONOS and the chap confirmed it was a miss, but sit tight as they would release a fix.Since then there’s been two new versions/updates released, including one yesterday. But neither fixed my alarms. We have the new app on several devices and none work - thankfully I’ve the old app on my i-pad that works beautifully.To be specific; I can SEE all existing alarms (that i set via the old ‘gold’ app), i can access each one and make changes - but when i tap ‘save’ nothing changes. It also lets me start to add a new alarm, all settings, time, etc - but again when I tap save, the new alarm doesn’t appear.System wise, I’ve c.20 components across six rooms.I can’t get a straight answer from SONOS - given the above, is this issue supposed to have been patched and if so, it’s a ‘me issue’ and I need to try and find a fix or is the patch still pending from SONOS
