I use Apple Music service with iPhone's Music application. My understanding is below. Then the received music data are sent to Sonos Amp via Airplay, and I listen the sound from speaker that are connected Sonos Amp. And I'd like to know that, in case that Apple Music is played back with Sonos application, the music data of Apple Music are directly got from the server on internet. Is it right ?
Is it just me or is the new Sonos app - totally rubbish?
How do I delete old Sonos Playlists? They show and when using the edit option the delete icon is disabled. And when viewing the playlist itself there also is no option to delete.is this yet another broken not working issue of the new app or is it a usability issue that the new app is not made for actual human interaction without having psychic powers and I just cannot find it? And if so can someone who has either psychic powers or who developed it and forgot to tel us users not involved in writing our the flow diagrams where which feature is hidden to help? ;) Guessing nobody knows? What is going on? Did Sonos update the app again? I was very happy to get sleep timer back but now some genius change the setting again so sleep timer either end after 1 hour or end of track, silly but still the worst to come after selecting any period of time the question will pop up either disable connection or cancel sleep time!!! Exactly they are returning again to square one when they cancelled sleep timer in the update, can any one please explain how can we still activate sleep timer without disable connection

Hi Re the new sonos app released May 2024 and the voiceover screen reader for IOS. I’m aware that since it’s launch in May 2024 the user experience for blind people using the app with the voiceover screen reader in IOS has been less than fantastic! as a blind person and voiceover user myself, I’m also well aware that sonos have done a lot of work to address problems for voiceover users following the initial release of the new version of the app. my question is are all of the improvments for use of the app with voiceover now included in the app as of the end of June 2024? or, are there more improvements scheduled for voiceover users during july? I’m currently running the last version of the system software and app prior to 7th may, but would like to update not least to take advantage of support for Apple Music Lossless. I would appreciate any advice from Sonos Staff, or others who have a greater knowledge of the forthcoming software releases. Thanks for your help, Angus.
I am a patient IT engineer, but I am getting close throw out all my Sonos gear over this mess. I have a whole host of issues that started a few weeks back. It’s a mystery to me how such poor quality software updates passed release testing and were allowed to be rolled-out essentially rendering the product unusable. From Spotify I can sometimes not longer see any of my speakers on my Samsung Galaxy S23. Closing Spotify, putting the phone into flight mode and back again may or may not fix this. This is an older problem that I got used to though. When I select any of the speakers shown in Spotify for playback via Connect I get the circle (of death) and until it eventually times out without a connection to the speakers being established. This is relatively new (a few weeks) Using the Sonos App I can still see some of the playlists that I played last (when Spotify Connect was still working). Sometimes I am lucky and I succeed to get these to play. Using the Sonos App while trying to connec
I am missing the Option add to Radio Favorites on IOS
In the new app when attempting to play one of my custom made playlists using Deezer, the music refuses to play. If trying to shuffle the playlist the play symbol will just show the spinning loading wheel. If attempting to play an individual song within the playlist it just says ‘something went wrong’. It also shows this ‘something went wrong’ error when trying to enter the Deezer service within the Sonos app. Using the old app on my tablet it has a similar issue, saying ‘cannot add song to queue - 701’. Have added a screenshot below of the error message. You can find artists within Deezer using the Sonos search bar. It will allow you to play artist mixes, but if you try to find artist top tracks, it will show the same ‘something went wrong’ message.I have already tried deleting Deezer and re-adding the service, and have rebooted my router and reset all my speakers by unplugging and re-plugging in. This is a major issue as my Deezer playlists constitute most of my listening on the Sonos s
So before what I’ll call the new S2 “black” app was just updated, I had on my phone and was able to use (at different times) both the original S2 brown app (to control some newer products like a Suband an Arc ) and separately also use the original gray S1 app to control some older connects that I have in my house. When I updated the Brown S2 app to the recent black S2 update, the old S1 gray app now says that one of my connects is incompatible with the old gray S1 app (and that I have to remove it or update to S2) , and says it needs the S2 app, but it’s not being discovered by the new black S2 app. How can I fix this to be annle to uae all my products as before ???? (The new S2 black app is still controlling the newer kit and the old gray S1 app is still controlling some old connects. )
Sonos used to be intuitive, user-friendly and integrated well with third party streaming providers like Tidal. The latest update not only makes using Sonos complex and EXTREMELY clunky and cumbersome, it no longer allows simple features such as playing Artist Playlists in Tidal. (The very thing I used Sonos for).I have already started looking at alternatives … Who else is thinking the same way?
The recent up has left the library all but unusable. Anyone know how to make songs continue to play one after another after the update?
Informations received from Sonos support yesterday -Additional improvements to screen reader for visually impaired customers: May 21-Adding to queue and playing next: early June-Sleep timer: mid-June-Snooze alarms: mid-June-Local music library search and playback: mid-June-Update Wi-Fi settings: mid -June
Help.
I keep disconnect myself from the app and try to reconnect us in the administrator but I have no option for so and it keeps telling me that my speaker is not registered although it keeps lugging in but I have no option I canike news
The Favorites Cannot load on the startpage on my IOS devises (2 iPAds and 2 iPhones). It’s loaded on my Mac and Windows controller. The IOS controller Connects very slow and ofte it Cannot load the playlist but the Music is Playing. The search function says “Something went wrong…”This has started aften the Update - I’m not impressed by the new App.When will Sonos Update the app with fixes?
Spent over an hour waiting on line to talk to customer service rep who was not helpful. He finally came back and said the recent I couldn’t add a playlist or put music onto existing playlists was because, “Sonos is improving its service to accommodate new products.” He also said additional updates will be released to facilitate what I’m trying to do. Huh?!! When does an update eliminate basic features of a product and only roll them back out when the bugs are worked out. Thankfully, I didn’t update the app on my wife’s phone so can still use this function. Truly unbelievable!
Note: The following is offered in the spirit of helpful information. If you are inclined to remain disgruntled with the current state of the app and/or Sonos in general then I suggest you close this thread and move on. I’ll not be responding to any negative comments to justify what I have written.During this time of Sonos fixing things with the App I would suggest turning on automatic updates within the app. If you are manually updating the app you must first remove the current version from your device. The downside is that all data is removed including that which is to be changed/updated as well as that that requires no change/update. In essence you are rebuilding the app from the ground up which in most instances can require rebuilding personal settings. In technical terms you are pandering to what is known as a “volatile update” that destroys the previous version. This procedure may have been (emphasis on may have been) necessary in the first few updates; but IMO is no longer requir
Sonos you have ruined my music listening experience- I am Neurodiverse and I really struggle cause it is so complex for me to even search for an album I want to listen too. I have spent so much money on setting up my full house with this system but at the moment with this new app all I am able to fathom out is how to listen to my favourite radio station- why have you done this 😩 can I have my old app back- is there a system that you can provide for your Neurodiverse users!
Hi,Feature request: show the number of tracks added to the queue in the pop-up message like in the older 16.1 Sonos app. The old 16.1 app displays how many tracks were added to the queue when using these functions:Add to End of QueuePlay Next The pop-up message shows e.g. “142 tracks added to the Queue” The newer app displays just “Added to queue.” It was helpful to get an indication that how many tracks were added without having to access the queue to check.
I just updated to the new Sonos app which looks great. I use Apple Music and there’s no way to select an individual song and add it to a queue. The “play next” and “add to end of queue” options are gone. The only option is “replace queue”. This is a big bug as I use and revise my queue all the time. Will this be addressed in future updates?
Can Sonos please advise its timeline for restoring the Pandora Modes in the newest upgrade? It’s one of my favorite features that provides a lot of variety within specified artist playlists.
The app generally works great. Leveraging the Apple integrations is frustrating. While the music streaming works, searching or browsing on Apple playlists or search results is buggy. Icons/covert art shows, more than half or titles are blank even though they are there and can be selected. It is like the words don’t load.
Hi,I figured out was the problem with Napster is. All of the saved Playlists that were created before, now I don't know what the exact date is, but before current update (s), do not work. They crash the displays also, it is very frustrating and ended up causing me some heartburn and anxiety, but I feel better now, after all of this debugging. So, they need to either add the older formats or issue a warning that the old playlists from Napster are now useless. It would be easier for us to do the first option, obviously, but if you can't you can't.Note also that this problem also crashes the History display, which stays on maybe for 5 or more seconds at startup, and then Poof, gone!I have a big sense of relief now, so I hope this information is useful.Note also that I would not have been able to do this debugging without the noson Linux app. Indispensable for debugging as it loads up and displays the older playlists, but obviously they can't get played.Important note: As things stand now,
Feature Request in regards to dynamic island. Currently, for iOS users you must open the Sonos app directly in order to navigate any controls. Allowing access to dynamic will provide minutes saved to use the control settings. This can include skip to next track, go back a track, grouping of speakers, change playlist or services being used. There are often times I need to pause quickly and I have to go through the standalone Sonos app to turn off. Just a thought for us iOS users.
