Does the new (80) update have surround speaker distance? If not I request that it gets added onto the list of missing features. I change my surround distance when friends are over as some spots in my setup may blast their ears. Also I know the new update sucks. I know I can go back with Android. I agree features like the alarm are more important, in fact I want that back ASAP - This is just one feature I occasionally use that I hope doesn’t get missed. I also hope I missed it somehow and it is in there. No I will not set Trueplay and forget. <3
I have a Sonos One Gen 2 which was working OK with my android phone for about 9 months. I now have a new phone and cannot set it up. I have tried rebooting the router, reinstalling the app, factory resetting the Sonos. A recommended solution was to rename the 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels on the router. I don't want to do this as our other many applications around the house would need to be updated too. The router has not changed and was working fine with Sonos before. Any help on this issue? And finally, I listed to audiobooks from BorrowBox and cannot find anyway to do this with the Sonos.
Hi all I'm an Android user and am looking to purchase an iPad for trueplay purposes. According to this article (https://support.sonos.com/en/article/trueplay-compatible-devices-and-sonos-products) it seems that almost all ipad versions are incompatible. Any idea which one supports trueplay calibration? Thank you!
Anyone else have issues with long playlist from Amazon (225+ songs) playing through their Sonos Connect? I can play it through my Move, Roam and Playbar but not Connect.
Not a fan of the new app, but I listened to a playlist on Apple Music this morning. And a saw a Lossless logo on one of the songs. It came and went and hasn’t showed up for other songs, but thought it was interesting. Is lossless playback coming? Was it already here and I missed it?
THE NEW APP UPDATE HAS JUST BEEN RELEASED!No firmware update. Current software version 80.03.03 (Android)80.03.06 (iOS)Release date: 6/17/2024 In this update: Introduced mute button on Android. Added numerical values to the volume and group-volume sliders. Updated the volume icon to reflect the volume level on iOS. Added stereo or mono configuration for Amp/Port output on iOS. Improved TalkBack screen reader support for volume sliders on Android. Added support for SonosNet channel selection on iOS. Expanded support for service reauthorization on Android. Not a great deal to get excited about this time by the looks of things... Not what many people will have been waiting for with bated breath.
My local library, hosted on MacOS, remains unusable since the update.I’ve reviewed the newly updated guidance from Sonos on how to add a local library. But it is identical to the solution the community has been using for weeks. Unfortunately this does not work for me and several others I’ve conversed with here. But for what must be the 15th time, I dutifully re-reviewed every step and followed them to the letter on my system, noting that it is *exactly* how I’ve been sharing my music library for Sonos for several years. After 5-10 minutes of ‘indexing’ this now too familiar error message was displayed once again: So, my library remains inaccessible via my S2 system. My configuration is *exactly* what Sonos and the community recommend. The only thing that has changed is the Sonos update. The error message provides no insight as to why my library cannot be indexed. And I can’t call Sonos support because they do not operate at the weekend. My configuration:MacMini running MacOS Catalina 10
Stations (BBC1, BBC2, Triple J and TMM) are greyed out and can’t be accessed or played.
Up until the introduction of the new Sonos app, I only had IOS (iPads, iPhones) Sonos Controllers.Local Music Libraries (and PlayLists) disapeared with the introduction of this app.Direct complaints to CEO Patrick Spence yielded nothing but a reply from Sonos Support that access to Local Miusic Libraries was restored on May 21st, as if this user is too stupid to find a menu entry in the IOS app.On June 27th, I had the idea of installing the Windows Sonos Controller. There is a Gotcha described below but this controller is able to access local music libraries and create/remove playlists. Sure enough, these libraries and playlists appear in the IOS app. Here is the gotcha (and no, I am not talking about the upgrade from SMBv1 to SMBv2): the Sonos controllers do not use the server name int the SMBv2 logon. The typical SMB logon is ServerName\UserName but the Sonos controllers use \Username, meaning you cannot use domain credentials, for example, on a Windows network. Here is a typical Sono
In a recent thread I described the issue I’d faced since “The Update” that prevented me from adding my music library, hosted on a Mac Mini, to an S2 system. I had file sharing configured per Sonos recommendations (even before the update), and although Sonos could connect to the share it would fail during the indexing process with this incredibly informative error message: O RLY? TL;DR: If you encounter the above error, it may be an issue with the cumulative volume of metadata in your music library, despite that not having been an issue before the May update. This certainly affects shares stored on MacOS using libraries managed with Apple Music, although I will note that I do not believe this represents an issue with Apple's products, as it's clearly linked to a data limit within Sonos. However, it’s one you’re more likely to encounter if your music management approach, like Apple Music, involves naming files with proper names, rather than a simple disc-track numbering system. Troublesh
I am in the UK. When I ask my Sonos Roam for the time it is incorrect. It appears to not know about British Summer Time / Daylight Savings. How do I change this so that the time is correct and I can use features such as the alarm reliably?
After the last app release I can’ t search a song anymore. I’d like to search a song within my music library. How can I do? Thanks
Please if u have some issues u don’t see in my post, add them with bulletins, so there is a comperehensive lists for other users or the SONOS itself. Device: iPhone 14 Pro Max - iOS 17.4.11.) If u’re trying to TruePlay ERA’s 300 in the NEW APP (80.00.04), and microphones are disabled on the ERA’s themselves, then the TruePlay process fails. This is due to disabled microphones. If i tried it in the OLD APP (16.1), there was a step/prompt that warned me exactly about the microphones e.g. that they need to be enabled, so the TruePlay could run successfully. This prompt is missing in the NEW APP (80.00.04). So if u’re having TruePlay issues, try to enable microphones.2.) If u’re having issues with TruePlay not starting after tapping/hitting “Continue” button in the NEW APP (80.00.04), reboot your phone and it should work.3.) If u’re experiencing some other issues in the NEW APP (80.00.04), they might be mitigated by going to “Account” / “App Preferences” / “Reset App” which will logout you
Everytime I open the new Sonos app on my iphone, it asks me to turn on bluetooth. Is there anyway to supress this pop up? I only turn on bluetooth when needed.
When will the ability to downgrade software be restored to the S1 app? I purchased a Move speaker in May because it was supposed to be compatible with the S1 app and my older Sonos speakers, but in order to make it compatible, it needs a software downgrade. The latest version of S1 removed this feature. When will the app be updated to have that feature restored? Thank you.
I have a Sonos Roam, I recently was listening to radio through it, now I want to switch back to Line In, but can’t figure out how. Advice, please.
It is not a question its like feature request or may be somebody could suggest the workaroundThe problem is I have to change EQ settings at least two times per day. During the day I want to get the best sound experience (set up default EQ settings). At the evening I have to reduce bass to not disturbe my neighbours, even when I watch TV and sounds not so loud. EQ settings is not easy to get. I have to go deep into the app settings to change the EQ settings. It would be cool to have EQ profiles or at least quick access to EQ settings
I’ve owned Sonos speakers for 12 years - and I use them for hours - every day - 365 days per year. I also own a software company - and I’ve been running software teams for 30 years. If somebody put this bad example of a beta app in front of me and said it was ready for prime time – after 30 minutes of playing with it and being constantly frustrated I would’ve fired them on the spot - are you guys serious? All of these broken or missing features are really, really important. And your answer to why they’ve been changed or dropped can’t be “just open the desktop app”. I’ve used the desktop app maybe half a dozen times in my life – what are you thinking? Especially when you FORCE your users to set up your system and add or remove any hardware from a mobile device? Not to mention, in the half a dozen or so phone calls I’ve had with your support team over the years, nobody has ever asked me to “just open the desktop app” on my computer. Come on guys, are you for real? First, what’s happene
I’ve generally been very complimentary of Sonos and the Eco System. Have been responsible for dozen of sales to people who have see the system operating in my home But I gotta ask:“Am I the only one who thinks the new app absolutely sucks” There’s nothhing intuitive about it. All my album artwork has disappeared, none of my custom radio URLs work - I could go on an on but this is no upgrade. Could someone please advise:how to restore all my album artwork (which is still fine on the desktop controller) how to remove all my tune in radio stations (which are all now greyed out) so I can try to re-establish them. They all still work on the desktop controller. From where I sit, this new app sucks. If I bought the system like this I would have returned it.
I’m really frustrated with the Sonos 2 system. Since upgrading, it’s been nothing but trouble. Here are the main issues:1. It’s full of glitches and often stops playing music suddenly2. The volume controls adjust randomly, either blasting music too loud or dropping it to an inaudible level.3. It frequently loses WiFi connection, even though our internet is stable. It can rarely go from Spotify to Apple music, loses connections constantly actually just now as I am typing this. These problems have been driving my family crazy all summer. It’s not just an occasional issue; it happens all the time. We have nine Sonos speakers, and our whole system rarely works as it should now. It is shocking that SONOS has allowed this to happen.I recommended Sonos to a friend, and he’s having the same issues. It’s embarrassing and has made me look bad. I would NEVER recommend this product to ANYONE. STOP PUSHING YOUR SONOS HEADPHONES AND FIX THE APP THAT IS A COMPLETE DISASTER!
Want to share a workaround for accessing your Sonos Playlists on the new app. If you use the desktop app (I have MAC) you can mark you playlists add them to ‘Sonos Favorites’ and then they will show up on the new app under ‘Sonos Favorites’ | ‘Playlists’.If support sees this they should share it with all users. It solves my problem.
Yeah, I’m old enough to remember the debacle that was created when Coca Cola released “New Coke”! It was met with such fury and negative publicity - including in media - that Coca Cola was forced to take it off the market and revert back to (basically) the same old formula. Now, it seems like Sonos is trying to become more content based rather than product / systems based. Stick to what you know - hardware. Roll back to give us the product control that made the system great in the first place. Otherwise I’m looking elsewhere for my client’s needs. Unfortunately, I’m already invested in multiple Sonos systems in two separate locations, so I have to wait until you “fix” or roll back the app so I can enjoy my system(s) again…
Hi, since the new app update I have many disappointments, and one about the queue. Most of the controls for the queue are gone, as well as the add to queue from other music sources. I am hoping to see these options again some day.
What is the quickest way to change subwoofer settings now? On the prior version of the app, it was easy by clicking on the volume slider bar and bringing up sound options. I can’t find something similar in the new app. Certain songs need bass enhancement and some don’t, having quick access to subwoofer settings was extremely convenient and the future I miss the most on S3.
I wanted to test out Sonos Radio HD on my new Amp which is hooked into whole house audio. I was finding Apple Music sounded great but the standard Sonos Radio wasn't doing it for me.Anyway so I entered my CC details to activate a free trial for the subscription service. I see it in my Sonos profile under orders but not yet under subscriptions.I'm not sure how to tell on the Sonos app whether or not anything has changed. Does the Sonos Radio thumbnail start to say HD? All that being said, I'm not sure the trial has been activated. Which is frankly pathetic for a transaction that can happen seamlessly online.I've tried reauthorizing Sonos Radio on the app several times to no apparent avail. I signed up for the Free Trial about 5 hours ago fwiw.
