I did the mistake of updating the Sonos app on my iPhone, resulting in losing the ability to play music on my Roam. The Roam shows up in the list of players, but I can’t make it play anything. When trying, the play button shows a spinning circle for a while, then the app states that an error occurred (no shit, Sherlock). Luckily, I haven’t update the app on my iPad, so I can play on the Roam from there.I’ve tried resetting the app, but that didn’t help.Any advise, or do I just wait for the app to get updated?
I was able to get my Music Library working again after the May update but I cannot add/edit it without applying the June update(s). I am afraid to do the update. Has anyone applied the June update fixes and do you still have access to both your local Music Library and your Imported Playlists?I am running iTunes and the Music is stored on my C drive on my Dell PC running Windows.
Hello Sonos Community,I am writing to express my frustration with the recent update to the Sonos app. As a loyal customer, I have always appreciated the quality and performance of Sonos products. However, my experience with the Sonos Roam SL has been disappointing.I recently purchased a Sonos Roam SL, excited to integrate it into my existing Sonos system. Unfortunately, after the latest app update, I am unable to add the Roam SL to my system. Despite following all troubleshooting steps and ensuring that both the app and firmware are up to date, the problem persists. This issue is highly frustrating, especially considering the investment I have made in Sonos products. I rely on a seamless experience and compatibility across my devices, and this disruption has significantly impacted my enjoyment of the system.I urge Sonos to address this issue promptly. It is crucial that updates are thoroughly tested for compatibility with all products before being released to avoid such inconveniences.
BBC sounds is working fine on my Sonos. Before about a month ago, I could set my Sonos alarm to be a prog that I had subscribed to via BBC sounds / My sounds / Subscribed / select the subscribed set of shows / select the show. A month ago, the above stopped at the ‘Subscribed’ screen with no way to then ‘select the subscribed set of shows’. This was on both my Samsung phone and the Windows PC app. Any idea why I cannot now select one of my subscribed programmes? Note this goes for all the options from the My Sounds page - the ‘subscribed’, ‘continue listening’ and ‘latest’. None of them expand to show the selection of shows. If I just go with selecting ‘subscribed’, the alam does not work and I get a standard Sonos chime in the morning.Help! Please!!Many thanks.
What the actual *? Why would Sonos, a large company with high levels of investment available replace a working app with a junk piece of crap that is buggy, crashes, lags, pauses and lacks basic functionality???? Way to go. Just treat your customers like complete mugs.*Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
The latest version of the app on Android seems to causing no end of problems. Firstly, my Music Libary (from a NAS drive) disappeared and I've had to reinstate it (twice) via the Desktop app. Secondly, all my music art, stored in folder.jpg files, has disappeared.I have been using Sonos mainly via a Connect Amp for many years without problems. When will these issues on the new app be resolved?I would like to roll back to the previous version until Sonos sorts out these problems. How do I do that?
Does the new Sonos app support a network attached server?
Apparently the issue with Sonos Radio has not been resolved at with me and some others.Sonos Support has not been helpful as of now. I have not seen a resolution on FB or Sonos community.Being on hold for 85 minutes is not helpful. I’m hoping someone has a solution. TYIA
After many hours of frustration with my full system and Apple Music (especially Lossless) with some help from this community, I used a workaround to switch to SonosNet by wiring one speaker. This worked for me and ended the constant dropouts, loud bursts, delays, lag, etc. See this post…https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-and-music-services-228995/apple-lossless-extreme-dropout-stability-issues-with-multi-room-audio-6897710 Now a new issue…. I’m travelling in my RV with just a Roam and a Move (I know - “roughing it”). Roam and Move show up in the app via “connect to new system”, and start and sync up immediately. However within a song or 2, both will go silent, while the app still shows them as playing. No errors, no sound. Skipping, scrubbing, etc. does nothing. Only happening with Apple Music. I can stream perfectly fine from Amazon Music. Suspect this may be the new Lossless support - but have no way of disabling it to test.Anyone else having Apple Music issu
I know lots of others are angry about the state of the Sonos service but I want to add to the chorus. As of today I cannot access my favourite radio stations or my music stored on PC. Specifically re radio, I can access Radio Classique (France) from home in the UK via my web browser but not via Sonos. So it is not a rights question but a Sonos problem.
Will the ability to re-arrange and delete songs from the queue be added back?
A bit of an odd one. It seems I can set repeating alarms for every Monday to Friday but it won't allow to set a repeat alarm for either Saturday or Sunday?Interesting I can set a repeating alarm for a Saturday or a Sunday if I include a normal weekday?Any ideas or suggestions?
Cannot access my music on my iPhone
When I bought my sonos system one of the features I liked was that it wasn’t controllable from the internet - you had to be on the local wifi to manage sources etc. It appears that the latest(?) app release has now made this a thing, and now management of my music can be done from the internet. Does anyone know how to turn this off?? I dont want external access to my home network to be enabled by default. Especially on a service that I was using a relatively weak password on because the previous risk profile was pretty slim. I know plenty of people might want this but I feel it should be an opt in.
Since last week I’ve had major issues with multi-room (10 devices across 6 rooms). I’m thinking this may be related to the newly added Apple Lossless support. I can get 3, maybe 4 rooms to play reliably, but adding 5 or 6 causes major issues with constant rolling dropouts, eventually leading to some speakers just silent (although the app thinks they are playing). With Amazon Music, (which I don’t use, but tried it for testing), playback is stable.I can also play to all rooms/devices reliably with Apple Music over Airplay - including adding 6 more “rooms” through airplay.I have an Eero mesh network with excellent coverage, and I live in a rural setting so not a lot of interference from other networks.Anyone having similar issues?
Something went wrong: Try again Sonos take your own app’s advice and try again, I used to proudly show off my Sonos set up and the ease you could play what you want and have it playing in multiple rooms at the same time. Today my mum was child minding for us and mentioned a song she hadn’t heard in ages, took out my phone tried several times to play the song that is in my several years old playlist but you guessed it: Something went wrong repeatedly where I finally admitted defeat and said I couldn’t actually play it or anything really. Bravo Sonos, and no I don’t want your headphones.
Does anyone know if deleting songs from a queue, the saving of a queue, and the ability to shift songs within a queue will be coming back?
I can’t add new music services to the new Sonos app. The app is up to date, I’ve tried restarting my phone, logging out and back in on the app, trying multiple times with Amazon Music and Deezer. The service page says that the service was successful added and I can return to Sonos app, but when I do it it says that the service couldn’t be added and try again later.
Please can someone help?I am using my IPad and always have but now my playlist doesn’t show, then sometimes it does. It’s so frustrating and I can’t seem to correct this feature Any help please
Hello,I happen to like the SonoPad third-party controller on iPads and I have been looking for an alternative for use with Android tablets. The app must be optimized for tablets, and optimally should feature a multi-column view.Any suggestions?
Where can i find the equaliser for my Sonos roam speakers on iPad, and phone app
Old S1 only players compatible with latest S2 controller?
Hi,Is there a way to downgrade this poorly thought out new app to the previous version. The new app is not user friendly and does not appear to have a “shuffle” option for my music. I have a NAS with over 12,000 songs and now it appears the sonos app will not provide the ability to shuffle the songs. Either I have to downgrade the app to the previous version or I will have to find another method to play my in house library on the sonos setup. This supposed update is quite obviously inferior to the old one. Certainly won’t purchase anything else from sonos unless this gets rectified. Butch
I am trying to install the new app. It won’t install correctly and requires several reboots of my iOS devices to open. Even then it has completely screwed up my home audio system. It constantly gives incorrect “cannot connect” messages. It won’t recognize my Sonos products. It won’t recognize my third-party music apps. The search function is defective. When I finally got some music to play, it defaults to blasting music from my back patio speakers only. When I change to indoor speakers only, it plays different songs out of different speakers. Then some of the speakers disconnect. Then all of the speakers disconnect, and, at the same time, it reverts to blasting music out of the backyard speaker. Are we sure that this is an official Sonos app? It feels like some sort of joke or maybe malware?
