Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

I have a 7 zone Sonos system which I currently control with the Sonos App. I want to use a recently acquired Google home device to control the Sonos system. My speakers (8 Pairs) are hard wired to the connect amps. How can I control access to my music both personnel and streaming and group and un-group my speakers like I do with the Sonos app using my new google device?
I run some Devialet Phantoms and the Devialet wireless remote control is just wonderful - silky smooth, artistic object on the desk. Granted those are in a different price class and I don't expect Sonos to have something like that but is there a way that I can control the volume from my desk with a dedicated remote control? If yes, how? Thanks.
Hi there. I'm new to sonos and bought my first speaker this past week. It's truly fantastic and I will be buying more in the not so distant future. I realize that this seems to be a very touchy issue (by my quick search of the support and community threads), but I couldn't find an answer to my particular question: Does anyone know if Sonos might be planning on developing a media player for pc? To be clear, I understand that the sonos app for pc is a remote control, not a media player. I am not looking for a "free" or "cheap" option. I am wondering if Sonos might be developing a media player that I could purchase and download. I'm also aware of the "connect and line-in" option, but if I can avoid an extra piece of hardware by purchasing some software I will do it. Real estate around my HTPC is at a real premium. Thanks in advance!
Is there anyway SONOS could look at introducing EQ settings into the app/software? Since purchasing the Sub Iv'e found that TV/Movies need a slightly higher EQ setting than say music. This results in me having to go into the Advanced Audio settings and adjust the Sub output between sources (which is not straight forward). What would be really good is a way of selecting these EQ settings on the fly, so I can choose custom (or pre set) changing the levels when I change sources. Not a big ask but surprised pre-sets are not included as standard. This ability for a customer would be an extra but surely appreciated by the community!! Apologies if this has been raised before but a quick search brought nothing back...
I don't want to use Amazon Alexa. Is there any way to remove the red dot in More>Voice Services and the red notification badge on the More tab of the Sonos iOS apps? If so, how? They're really annoying. Sonos support says no. So they're using the app to pressure customers into signing up for Alexa even if they don't want it. To me, that's completely unacceptable. There should be a way to dismiss these.
I changed my router and now I cannot connect my CR200 to my Sonos Diagnistics item 8288267
Bottom line: is it possible to have two, or more, controllers controlling different rooms at the same time on the same WiFi network? ie: I control all rooms except “daughter.” Daughter has control of her own room with her phone but also has the ability to control all other rooms as well. Setup: Connect Amp, Boost, PLAYBAR, 5X Play1s, 2X Play5s
Hi just a quickie I hope 😃 when looking at the controller on my Laptop in the list down the right side under the heading "select a music source" should I be seeing my iphone and the music on it ? thanks and sorry if its a stupid question.
My first simple question is if two people have a controller in one household but they both have separate accounts is it possible to use one speaker? Say if I have an account set up with one speaker not in the house, and another family member has an account set up with speakers in the house, is there a way for me to switch my account quickly so that I can control music in the house?
Option of changing the background color (in the full album view) to black would look cool
I have a Sonos system with 4 devices. My iPhone controller tells me it is registered but when I log onto my account it says no products registered. This is a bug, how do I fix this?
I have been using Sonos for a few years and it has been losing connectivity to iTunes on my Mac every few days. Normally I have to try to rebuild indexes or clear the queue a couple of times and after a few minutes it reconnects. A couple of days ago it completely lost all connections to iTunes. Now when a try to connect to the iTunes folder I get the following: "Sonos was unable to add the music folder. Access to the shared folder //[MyComputerName]/Music" is denied - check the user name and / or password". Note: [MyComputerName] has a real value (no spaces) that is the same as the NETBIOS name and the computer name in Sharing. I've read a number of threads with people with similar problems and have tried the following: Rebooted everything in the recommended orderSet the NETBIOS name is the same as the computer name in SharingToggled File Sharing off and on a number of timesMoved the iTunes library to a different location on the iMac and forced iTunes to
Hi all, Is it possible that i can't sort any playlists either alphabetically or date added? I tried for quite sometimes but i believe it is impossible that Sonos doesn't correct this..... Please advice 🙂 best N
Dear Sonos, I’ve been a loyal customer of Sonos since the first generation of players were released over a decade and a half ago. My extended family are loyal Sonos users, and in our combined properties we have purchased dozens of players over the years. Sonos has been hands down best home stereo product since the advent of digital CDs. We have never hesitated to recommend Sonos as the only solution when it comes to home audio. Over the years, we’ve applauded Sonos’ advances in hardware and software. However, the recent spate of onerous firmware updates is now making the system unusable. In recent months, I have had two forced software updates prevented me from using my system for hours. This happened because my phone updated the app when at work. Then I would get home to find out that the new app was incompatible with the player firmware. The last update was especially insulting, when it forced me to confirm my email address. (As if that is what I want to do when I
I have been a lover of Sonos for years. My whole home is set up. And since the latest app I find it nothing but frustrating. I can't figure out how to change songs, how to find rooms, or do anything I want to. It is counterintuitive, frustrating, and time wasting. What I used to love was that anyone could figure anything out. I stare at my iPad or my computer or my phone and really just want to throw everything across the room and turn on a transistor radio. Major fail as far as I'm concerned.
I have 2 Play:1 speakers and have attempted to setup each one using my iPhone X & MacBook Pro. I've been completely unsuccessful due to the "Version Unconfirmed" error each time (as in each Play:1 and trying with iOS & MacOS). This couldn't be more frustrating and disappointing as someone who's very experienced in tech, but new to Sonos.
Why no sound? Surely this is an oversight I have my entire house hard wired for sound at present I have built In speakers in every room ceiling apart from my office, I currently have three connects and a connect amp for the turntable I also have the playbar so I have been building the system slowly over the last two years, I have a retina 5k Mac and run the app from either my phone or the Mac if I'm in the office I don't currently have any speakers in here why can I just play the Sonos play list through the Mac i'm using sure it can go to all the other rooms too but why can't I play it through the Mac is there a fix for this it seems silly not to allow the host pc to play the songs too
Seriously? I can't view my playlist in alphabetical order? WTF?!?!
Hello! If you want to control easily your Sonos system, try the app Sonosequencr. You can do a lot of things with one touch, like surrounds level, pairing, unpairing, etc. It's really a good app et I use it every day!
The newly redesigned app for iOS is GARBAGE. A huge step backwards for what was an efficient way of routing music to specific rooms and speakers. It takes multiple non-intuitive steps to get the content to the place you want it. Talk about a massive screw up by the UI team. Who approved this mess? You have to tap three extra steps to get the music to the right location, and even then, you get caught in loops back and forth just trying to associate a source with a room. Seriously. Go back to the previous UI. This new one is a disaster.
Hi All, Newbie here. I'm just thinking out loud so that maybe someone will say " you can do that already" or perhaps Sonos can consider a suggestion. I've searched around, and it looks like we can't connect 1 sub into multiple 'rooms'. Naturally the suggestion is that if you are playing music into multiple rooms simultaneously then the sub will be confused and this would lead to a less than ideal outcome. Fair call. This is my setup: 2 Logical rooms. Room1: TV/Movies = Playbase + 2x Play 1 + Sub Room 2: Stereo Music = 2x Play 5(gen2) They are all in the same physical room though. The play 5 are next to my TV in my lounge room. First things first, the quality is impressive. Movies are great, imaging is good, and the sub fantastic. Play 1's make a perfect surround speaker for my environment. Stereo is amazing. The play 5's are a terrific stereo pair, and as many have mentioned, they hold their own in the bass department. However, I'm looking for a bit more omnidirecti
Once again it appears that Sonos has lost connectivity to my music server. I use the Sonos bridge together with a Sonos 5 player and multiple Sonos player apps on PC, Android and the Sonos controller. Along with not being able to see album art, clicking play on either my Sonos controller or in the Sonos PC app results in a notification to the effect of "Unable to play '<music title>' - cannot connect to //<myserver>/<share> because the server cannot be found." I'm getting pretty tired and angry about doing the routine to shutting down all devices including my router and then restarting in the order of router, bridge, Sonos 5 device. I've submitted diagnostic log 4072501.
My husband updated the sonos controller app this morning and since then I've been unable to connect to the sonos system. I deleted the app and installed the update and it won't find my Sonos system no matter what I do. Sonos controller on my Mac won't connect either.
If I am playing music on Sonos from the controller on my Mac, how can I stop the music also playing on the Sonos app on my iPhone? I don’t want to run down the battery on my iPhone is I’m using my Mac to play music.
The new app is terrible to use and makes what was a simple easy to use system over complicated, is there a way of using the previous App?
