Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

I know there are topics about the battery life of the devices running the Sonos app, but each have been dismissed. I am telling you that there is a battery life problem when the Sonos app is running. I have very specific daily usage requirements which average about 72% battery life left at the end of the day, unless I run the Sonos app. Then, at the end of the day, I have an average of 37% left. If Sonos wants to continue to blow this problem off, fine, but it is unacceptable to a long time user and overall fan. Not to mention a professional software developer. Get your head out of the sand boys and fix this usage problem. It is widespread and easy to duplicate.
I have multiple Sonos speakers throughout my house and use 2x PLAY:3 grouped for a radio alarm. Until the last update, I was able to have both grouped together and have the radio alarm play at the specified time. Seems that ever since I updated to the most recent firmware, the alarm will ungroup the speakers when kicking in/turning on, making the radio play on the one speaker only. If I turn on the 'include grouped rooms' when setting up the alarm, close the window and go back, the checkbox is no longer turned on. This is very frustrating! Anyone else having this issue? Any known workarounds?
I have recently changed my phone and in so doing now have the updated version of the sonos controller app..........WHAT HAS HAPPENED??? This is awful! Really awful! Why mess with something that was intuitive, straightforward and simply WORKED, and replace it with this shambles. I have loved my sonos system for the 5 years i have owned it but the way the new app works is really abysmal. Why oh why if i have searched for and added one song does the app feel the need to place 90 plus songs into the queue?? This makes the previously fantastic queueing system almost unusable. PLEASE PLEASE SORT THIS OUT SONOS. Your functionality was one of the plus points to keep you ahead of the ever growing number of alternatives in the wireless audio market. If i select one song, i only want one song otherwise i would select to play the whole album. This really needs sorted if Sonos is to maintain its position at the pinnacle of the wireless audio market. . . . We can find this level o
Im having problems loading the sonos controller software, after downloading file it says does not work with the 32bit system, it there a specific file to download for 32 bit or do i need a 64bit pc ? Thanks
Just bought 4 Play1 which I have placed on wall mouths in each corner of my living room. Have set it up as two stereo pairs. Now I want to use this Trueplay-thing for the best sound possible. But it want work with my iphone X. Why? And when will it work?
CanI use or When will macs be able to use keyboard volume control for Sonos?? I use the 'next' button on my keyboard, but volume doesn't work.
I was trying to help a friend set her Sonos up on Android devises. Somehow, I managed to get 2 of her Sonos Play 1's listed on my iPhone. In addition, my email address is showing up on her devises as her registered Sonos email address. How can I get her products off of my iPhone (her Play 1's are not showing up on any of my other devises) and my email address out of her Sonos app?
i can not install desktop controller on my laptop
Since the version 8.0 app (and subsequent updates) I have noticed that when you change rooms or group rooms there is a lag on the app before it updates itself. E.g. Playing music in the Kitchen then move it to Lounge, the app will still show music playing in the Kitchen for a while. At times its taken up to 30 secs to refresh. This was not an issue before the version 8.0 app. The music transfer itself is pretty instant tho, which is obviously the important thing! Yes I know it's a 'first world problem' and probably a symptom of the modern need for 'instant gratification' but I was wondering whether this is just a problem with my set up that could be a symptom of something else? Or have others noticed this?
Surprised I can not find this idea in here. My house is not exactly small, and I am now running 7 Sonos players. When running the Sonos app on iPhone, it would be great to be able to select a sone (or a sone group), press a button and talk via my phone to that sone. I can not imagine it being a technically complex solution. I would be really excited about being able to use Sonos in this way, and so would quite a few others! (see discussion forum): http://forums.sonos.com/showthread.php?t=8672 Is this something that can be considered? If this could be a part of Sonos long term solutions, I would wait for it. Else I would need to start think alternative solutions.
How to shut sonos off?
Bought a play 1 and the setup was smooth ,, now downloaded the app on my wife’s iPhone and selected add to existing account and to my surprise all my playlists show on her Sonos app while her own Apple Music doesn’t . What am I doing wrong . Tried creating new account and the ‘Sonos’ wifi not to be found in the list of wifi network. Please help. Can’t believe others in the house can’t use the speaker without me being around .
My family HATES the app update. It’s design is not user friendly at all! Just doesn’t make me want to go out and add to my system!
Anyone else keep doing this. You see at the bottom of the app in bold red your room name. So you intuitively think that to change rooms you need to tap it. You then realise that this isn’t for room selecting, this is for sending the current room’s music to other rooms. So you realise you have to go back a step to select the blacked out rooms logo at the bottom of the app to change rooms. Time after time I keep doing this. Please bring room selection back as a constant one tap function no matter where you are in the app please.
I have a 7 zone Sonos system which I currently control with the Sonos App. I want to use a recently acquired Google home device to control the Sonos system. My speakers (8 Pairs) are hard wired to the connect amps. How can I control access to my music both personnel and streaming and group and un-group my speakers like I do with the Sonos app using my new google device?
I run some Devialet Phantoms and the Devialet wireless remote control is just wonderful - silky smooth, artistic object on the desk. Granted those are in a different price class and I don't expect Sonos to have something like that but is there a way that I can control the volume from my desk with a dedicated remote control? If yes, how? Thanks.
Hi there. I'm new to sonos and bought my first speaker this past week. It's truly fantastic and I will be buying more in the not so distant future. I realize that this seems to be a very touchy issue (by my quick search of the support and community threads), but I couldn't find an answer to my particular question: Does anyone know if Sonos might be planning on developing a media player for pc? To be clear, I understand that the sonos app for pc is a remote control, not a media player. I am not looking for a "free" or "cheap" option. I am wondering if Sonos might be developing a media player that I could purchase and download. I'm also aware of the "connect and line-in" option, but if I can avoid an extra piece of hardware by purchasing some software I will do it. Real estate around my HTPC is at a real premium. Thanks in advance!
Is there anyway SONOS could look at introducing EQ settings into the app/software? Since purchasing the Sub Iv'e found that TV/Movies need a slightly higher EQ setting than say music. This results in me having to go into the Advanced Audio settings and adjust the Sub output between sources (which is not straight forward). What would be really good is a way of selecting these EQ settings on the fly, so I can choose custom (or pre set) changing the levels when I change sources. Not a big ask but surprised pre-sets are not included as standard. This ability for a customer would be an extra but surely appreciated by the community!! Apologies if this has been raised before but a quick search brought nothing back...
I don't want to use Amazon Alexa. Is there any way to remove the red dot in More>Voice Services and the red notification badge on the More tab of the Sonos iOS apps? If so, how? They're really annoying. Sonos support says no. So they're using the app to pressure customers into signing up for Alexa even if they don't want it. To me, that's completely unacceptable. There should be a way to dismiss these.
I changed my router and now I cannot connect my CR200 to my Sonos Diagnistics item 8288267
Bottom line: is it possible to have two, or more, controllers controlling different rooms at the same time on the same WiFi network? ie: I control all rooms except “daughter.” Daughter has control of her own room with her phone but also has the ability to control all other rooms as well. Setup: Connect Amp, Boost, PLAYBAR, 5X Play1s, 2X Play5s
Hi just a quickie I hope 😃 when looking at the controller on my Laptop in the list down the right side under the heading "select a music source" should I be seeing my iphone and the music on it ? thanks and sorry if its a stupid question.
My first simple question is if two people have a controller in one household but they both have separate accounts is it possible to use one speaker? Say if I have an account set up with one speaker not in the house, and another family member has an account set up with speakers in the house, is there a way for me to switch my account quickly so that I can control music in the house?
Option of changing the background color (in the full album view) to black would look cool
I have a Sonos system with 4 devices. My iPhone controller tells me it is registered but when I log onto my account it says no products registered. This is a bug, how do I fix this?
