Does anyone know what update 12.2.1 added or fixed? I just got it a few hours ago.
I asked Alexa on my Arc to play music from The Beatles, yet, I can’t find the Apple Music playlist that it’s playing on the Apple Music library. Alexa said it would play “The Beatles: Essentials” which has ~30 songs and I’m listening to many more songs (very good) and songs that are not included in any of Apple’s playlists. Could someone help me? I want to add that playlist I’m listening to, but it’s not even allowing me to
OK. Is what I’m about to say ideal? Nah. Not at all, but it works. If you listen to Pandora thru Sonos and want to access the ever-important “I’m tired of this track” feature, try this….When you hear that track, hop on your cell and open the Pandora app and it will display the song playing thru Sonos. On the cell, you can use that feature. Seem like a pain in the arse, yes, but that feature is what helps your playlists grow so it’s huge if you listen to Pandora often. Anyway, otherwise you’re gonna hear the same 50 songs over and over and over and over…..
Does anyone from SONOS monitor this Board? I just switched from Spotify to Apple Music (via Apple One) and was pretty happy until I realized that Apple Music App cannot control Sonos directly as the Spotify App can. And to make it worse, the Sonos App does not show all of the new features of Apple Music when I add Apple as a Service. Is this something SONOS or APPLE needs to work on for the millions of customers. If this will not be improved I will likely switch back to Spotify. Thank you. Larry
windows did a massive update yesterdaynow when i launch the desktop controller is opens and then crasheswindows 10 application event log showsApplication: Sonos.exeFramework Version: v4.0.30319Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.Exception Info: System.ArithmeticExceptionException Info: System.OverflowException at System.Windows.Media.Imaging.ColorConvertedBitmap.FinalizeCreation() at System.Windows.Media.Imaging.ColorConvertedBitmap..ctor(BitmapSource source, ColorContext sourceColorContext, ColorContext destinationColorContext, PixelFormat format) at System.Windows.Media.Imaging.BitmapImage.FinalizeCreation() at System.Windows.Media.Imaging.BitmapImage.EndInit() at Sonos.Controller.Desktop.SCLib.ViewModel.Artwork.ArtworkDataEventSink.GenerateEventArgs(SCIArtworkData sender) at Sonos.Controller.Desktop.SCLib.EventWrapper`2.OnEvent(TSender sender) at Sonos.Controller.Desktop.SCLib.EventSink`1.dispatchEvent(SCIObj pSender, String sEventID)
In the Sonos Radio music service I can search for a radio station, but when I go to add the station to an alarm I can’t seem to find the station. For instance, I do a search in Sonos Radio for “spa” and come up with a number of stations. Let’s say I now want to add “Radio Art - Spa” (for example) to an alarm. How can I find that station in the Alarm settings except to scroll through hundreds of stations in the “Specialty” channel (browse → Music → Specialty), which is where I *think* it might be (a guess). Adding the found station to “Sonos Favourites” puts it in the favourites, but that doesn’t help, as Sonos Favorites is not an option in Alarms either. How can I find where the station is located so I can add it easily to my Alarm?
Is this doable at all? So far, the Sonos app does not appear to have this feature, and even using the google assistant ‘hey google, like this song’ results in ‘Sorry, I don’t understand that’. For a company priding itself on bringing the music to you, this seems like a huge oversight, especially since YTM has no other way to like a song when it is playing on another device, that I know of. Any help is appreciated here. I want to use youtube music more and have the ability to like the songs / dislike so it can then give me more personalized results. And I love the sonos sound.
Why oh why can’t you play music from iMatch …. :-(
Up until i updated the S2 app to 12.2.1 I would see the Sonos audio controls in the pull-down notification curatain as well as on my lock screen. Now it’s not visible in either. I noticed upon going into the Notifications menu that the Sonos app isn’t even listed. I’m running iOS 14.2 on an iPhone 12 Pro. Music controls work well within the app itself. I even uninstalled and reinstalled it but no joy. Anyone else experience this? I just went through something similar with my OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren and that was never resolved. I hope that’s not the case here because I’m just starting to get used to iOS again.
As the title suggests - I appreciate the playbar/base can’t ever be lossless with the toslink connector but when are we going to be able to feed lossless sound to our amplifiers and beams?
Hello there,YouTube Music is moving fast, the service (finally) have some serious content on its apps (web or mobile), like new playlists, context playlists, personnalised playlists… Nothing appears on the Sonos app for Youtube, users are still locked in artists / songs / library mode. The “home” page doesn’t display much… We need a better sync with what Youtuve Music offers to its users on its apps. Also, we should be able to vote up or down songs inside the Sonos app and to launch radios more easily from tracks, playlists like we used to from Google Play Music, and the ability to add or remove tracks from our own playlists. PS : I’m using the S1 version of Sonos because guess what, my speakers are still working fine !
Each time another user connects to the same Sonos, I get overwritten and then get prompted to sign in using that user’s email. How do I stop this/Ensure that I can switch between users without having to do the whole logging in thing? Thanks
I have been a loyal Sonos customer for may years and love your products (I own a Play 3, Play 5, Connect G1 and G2s) but I have to complain about the new Sonos app. The one thing that I dislike about the new player is when I go to landscape mode on my phone (Samsung S10 plus), the interface stays in portrait mode. On my tablet (LG G Pad III), landscape works but instead of having the layout like in the S1 version, everything is centered and the artwork is super tiny, compared to the S1 interface, where the artwork is on the side and takes full advantage of the space given and info on the opposite side.
I just got a new phone it is an iPhone 11 promax and Sonos has asked me to re-authorize my Apple Music account. When the pop-up window opens with my Apple ID in it and the section for me to enter my password the keyboard does not pop up and so I cannot type in my password.
I updated to Sonos controller v12.2 yesterday. Now, when I right-click on the Sonos app that is on the MacOS dock I no longer see the controls such as Mute, Mute All, etc.I am pretty sure that these existed on my last version of the controller, which would have (likely) been v12 or v12.1 as I am nearly always current with software.Did this get eliminated? Or am I imagining it?Thanks!
I have been having issues with the Sonos S2 app connecting to the speakers, but strangely I can connect to them just fine in the Spotify app. Any idea why this might be? Have tried all the WiFi reset steps and speaker resets etc. But no improvement. Can sometimes connect if I’m close to the boost bridge but more patchy the further away I am…..was thinking it must be a problem with the bridge. But how come the Spotify app has no problems? Any help and advice gratefully received! Thanks
The currently playing item now obscures the last selection in "My Sonos" favorites. I am unable to get to this choice. This started just after upgrading to S2.
I have a fully installed S1 system upgraded to S2 that plays in five rooms. I’m old (79) and don’t speak tech so I need a simple step by step guide on how to find music options, how to select and play same, in which rooms, then delete same later. Most importantly, how do I build a playlist of individual Christmas songs of my choosing? Where can I find very specific instructions on how to do those basic things?
What are best options for controlling new Sonos 2 system other than iPhone or iPad? Looking for something not recharcargable but permanently plugged into 110V. Will an echo show work?
Customer Support directed me to Tech Support, and Tech Support funneled me into community, so here goes: I have an extensive Sonos system in my house now, all devices being "Gen 1" (Play:1, Play:3, Play:5, original Subs, Connects, Playbars, etc). None have AirPlay compatibility in them. I am also therefore tied to the S1 controller. If I add a Sonos One to my home system, can I use it as a bridge to AirPlay to other Sonos products in my house? For example, can I set my MacBook Pros audio output to the Sonos One and then "group" it with my office's Play:5 1st Gen speakers? If yes, which controller will I be using from that point on? S1, S2 or both? Thank you.
Successfully upgraded to S2 app (iPhone 10, latest iOS). S1 app icon shows, but cannot find the new S2 app icon. Have to either search for S2 to launch it or launch S1 and launch S2 from within S1 app. What am I doing wrong?
New to Sonos with a single Sonos One. I notice when I search on my Sonos app that I do not get the same search results that I do when I search directly on the Apple Music app. I see a lot more results for my search on Apple than on Sonos. If this is a long term issue, I guess my options are to switch to Amazon Music HD. How are the search results there via the Sonos App?Or, I can return the Sonos One to BestBuy and switch to an Apple HomePod or more likely HomePod Mini. This is for a bedroom. I don’t really need loud high resolution audio.Which leads me to ask, is Amazon Music HD overkill for Sonos? I haven’t seen any sign that Sonos handles high resolution audio.I’m also considering a Sonos Arc, but my questions about that is for a separate post.
I’m moving out of my household and taking one of four Sonos products with me.Will resetting my Sonos app on my iPhone (so I can set-up a new system in the new location) have an impact on the other household members who will remain connected to the existing system through their own Sonos apps?
I have a playbar and a beam, both connected to TVs. When moving from the living room to the bedroom, I need to switch the TV source for the whole system (I like all speakers playing the TV sound). This wasn’t an issue last year as the app allows to select which TV to use as source, but in recent app versions (S1 and S2) the apps crash (or display just a black dot) when going to the TV source selection. Am I the only one who can’t believe that this issue hasn’t been fixed yet? Extremely frustrating for what’s supposed to be a premium audio system.
How do you get rid of the stinking setup cards in settings for the iOS Sonos app? These pop up every time I open the Sonos app, and it doesn’t matter how many times I tap the “X” to close all of them. I don’t have surrounds to connect in the three rooms it keeps popping up for, I don’t want to add a voice assistant, I don’t want to try Sonos Radio HD, etc… I close them all, then they all pop up again the next time I go into settings. What gives? I looked through all the settings and couldn’t find anything about turning off these suggestions for things I don’t have or don’t want to try.
