Will I ever be able to play songs (i.e., mp3s) stored directly on my phone to my SONOS system (without using a 3rd party app like Spotify, YouTube Music, etc.)?
Perhaps my biggest gripe with Sonos is how bad the integration with soundcloud is. Never mind the 100 track limitation on the likes but the music discovery part completely sucks. When can we expect a better integration
I have created playlists within Sonos for years and have had no trouble moving tracks around, but now there doesn’t appear to be that option anymore, is that correct, or am I missing something?I sincerely hope Sonos haven’t removed that feature, or it could be the final straw.
I spent a good part of the weekend re setting up all my components. I get an overnight Sonos App update and it can’t find my system or any components?????? Sonos you are an f ing disaster.Issue is now fixed but I can’t believe how many times I have had to setup my existing system. Virtually every product had to be reset to factory default.
I understand the technical aspects of the sampling rate, bitrate and mastering of media sources. However, if I play a Max Quality (24 bit, 192 kHz song on Tidal) or the high res lossless version in Apple Music from within the Sonos app or the Lossless capped version in Apple TV and compre vis a vis a Bluray, I find that the sound quality in terms of the fidelity, overall tight sound, louder, wider soundstage and greater feel iis observed when the source is Bluray. My setup is Sony A95, Apppe TV and a mid range Sony Bluray player with Sonos Arc, 2 Era 300s and a Sub in a single room. @jgatie @Corry P
Moderator Note: Google Translate- Why can't I see my Spotify playlist in Sonos (S2)? I subscribe to Tidal without any problems. I just created a Spotify account (free) to try it out, but as I said, I'm missing my playlist. All apps are updated with the latest versions.
Is firmware updated automatically?
Is it going to be possible again soon with the S2 app updates to access and play your local music files directly through the controller?I want to listen to audios in the 48khs sample rate without them being resampled and as I understand the only way to guarantee this is by using the app, but currently with no access to local music on my device the only other option is to install a NAS drive with a local media server which still requires a computer or laptop for that setup. It seems a hassle right now with Sonos just to achieve the basics. Does anyone have knowledge about how this works and what to expect?
Hi All, In my living room I have a Beam, a Mini Sub, and a Five. Here are my dreams… 1. Have the Beam and the Mini Sub for watching TV / movies. 2.Be able to swap to the Five and Mini Sub when listening to just music / records. I want better quality audio than a sound bar can offer for music listening, plus my record player is on the other side of the room and want a speaker near that. 3. Being able to go all out and have the 3 speakers play. The issue I am running into is I cannot get the Five to join the others in one room on the app or I can only connect the Mini Sub to either the Beam or the Five. Is what I am dreaming possible?Does the Port solve any of this?Would a pair of Era 100’s and 300’s plus the Five make this possible and just ditch the sound bar?Ditch the single Five and go with a pair of 300’s or 100’s and keep the beam? But then theres the problem of turntable connectivity and the Port is pricey...Can I make a group with all the speakers and just mute the beam? Bonus
Once again my Sonos system can’t connect to the Relisten service. This has been ongoing for a few days now and their regular app works fine and so does the Relisten website. My Sonos says it can’t connect, however, via either my iOS app or my desktop app.
I have been forced to upgrade to the new app (I installed the desktop app on a new PC, which upgraded all my speakers - despite them being set not to upgrade, which then meant my Android app no longer worked) and despite all my fears, so far it isn’t as bad as I was dreading - and my NAS library is there, with artwork 😊. Hoping that well documented missing features (such as editing playlists) will come back soon 🙏🏻.There is one thing though that I can’t find and perhaps this is because it isn’t there. Most of the time I listen to streamed radio (BBC Radio 3 - and notice that the image is no longer visible in the app, which is surprising/disappointing, but not critical). In the past I have set up a queue which I can switch to easily when I decide that I don’t want to listen to the radio for a while. I can’t find any way in the mobile app to be able to find the queue - am I missing something?
I live in France and have been using Sounds to access Radio 4 live, for many years. I now hear I will not be able to do so. Any solutions please?
I’ve been using a Sonos Port for many months now making the switch to Sonos when the Apple Lossless support was introduced.I’m very happy with the solution and appreciate that ‘features’ take time to implement but I really do think its about time a better way to navigate through the Album and Artist lists is introduced. It is currently very laborious to have to scroll through complete A to Z lists just to get to the item you want.It surely should be possible to add a capability to jump to the starting letter of choice. Here’s hoping…Thanks
There’s a few small UX things in the new app that have been bothering me where I think the solution would be relatively easy to implement, at least on iOS, so I figured I’d share them somewhere, even if they’ve been discussed to death already. What I like about my suggestions is that they’re easy wins because they only require very small changes, without any new UI designs. They all involve simple tweaks to interactions or using existing UI components.1. The Back ButtonProblemWhen navigating settings or services the navigation happens inside a tree view inside a card that pops over the app. As is standard on iOS the user can go back up a level in the tree by pressing the back button or by swiping left-to-right. So on iOS I am conditioned to think I can swipe left-to-right if I see a back button. The problem with the Sonos app is that the top level of the tree shows a back button that can be used to dismiss the card, but I can’t swipe left-to-right. This always leads me to swipe a few tim
Currently, the soundbar volume is controlled by the volume buttons on your smartphone only when you are in the Sonos app. The moment you leave the Sonos app screen(this does not mean quitting the Sonos app), you cannot control the soundbar volume with the volume buttons on your smartphone. What bothers me is that I have to stay in the Sonos app all the time to control the soundbar volume. The moment I leave the app to do something else on my smartphone(for example, leaving the sonos app to text someone, or leaving the Sonos app to browse the internet for a while), I cannot control the soundbar volume. I have to come back into the app screen.P.S. Again, this assumes that you have left the Sonos app screen for a while, not that you quit the Sonos app.
Has anyone had any luck with the 100 song limitation on your Amazon Playlist? Under the previous App I had around 400 songs. Had to split up into 4 playlists. What a pain in the A$$.
This app which was absolutely fine 4 years ago is now a steaming pile of ****… Thousands wasted on hardware for an app that does not work… Funnily, I always thought that having a software component to the overall solution would be a good thing, allowing for continual improvements to the experience which each iterative release… What I didn’t consider, was a management team willing to make software changes to degrade and make the experience worse…Terrible company with terrible culture! Hi all.As with other posts of this nature, I am also experiencing issues with different volume levels of the Era 300 surrounds after Trueplay tuning.I have an Arc Ultra with 2 x Era 300’s and a Sub Gen 4. All of which sound excellent - especially with Trueplay enabled.However….I have tried all of the usual techniques to try and mitigate this volume issue - but so far, the situation has not improved. It’s always the left side of the acoustic that’s always louder.I am using the latest software and hardware firmware (as of 14/03/25).To be clear, the sound levels of the surrounds are fine without Trueplay enabled or configured.I have also tried swapping the rear speakers around and re-configuring (to see if it’s a hardware issue) but still the same result keeps occurring. So with this in mind, I have the following questions:is it possible to send Sonos techs diagnostics of before and after Trueplay calibration to see if there is an issue here? after Trueplay is enabled, it is impossible to
I just upgraded to a Spotify Family Plan. 2 of those accounts are for kids. They each have an ipad with the sonos app installed that connects to a single Sonos network. In other words, the sonos app is installed on multiple home devices that access the same sonos account.I want to set up each family’s spotify account on their respective Sonos app. But when I login with my Spotify credentials, it only connects to my account. What am I missing? How do I set them up to access their spotify kids account on the sonos app?
In a drunken stuper I accidentally upgraded my two play 3's to S2. Nothing but issues ever since. Cannot get them back to S1 even after an hour and a half on the phone to technical support. Reset made no difference and attempted downgrade did nothing . Still stuck with S2 which in my opinion is hopeless. And it took me forever to configure them to a stereo pair as they were before on S1. Is it me, am I missing something, why didn't Sonos just leave it alone ? Never had a problem in thirteen years before this. Only thing I can think is don't get drunk and have a grandchild ask for a Mary Poppins song ! 😂
There are a number of reasons Sonos has let so many down and are still struggling 9+ months after forcing a terrible app (+cloud control) on a once mostly happy/repeat customer base. Yes the app is still sub-par even with some major improvements lately, yet almost a year in and still some features/services/function are not even on par with S2-1 (even SonoPad & SonoPhone are better apps). Outrageous! Firmware (software for the units) is also an issue which is why we keep seeing it updated so often. All this so they could shove some BT cans out the door and force us into their cloud. Forcing our once local control over to Sonos’ leased servers just adds all sorts of potential lag/security issues/complications, not to mention, future potential monetization of our user data (see also new TV set-tip box). Yes there are some lucky users in the Goldilocks zone, but not most or Spence would still have his job. Short-sighted, greedy, lying leadership backed by an apparently blind board s
As per the title… I use a Sonos connect and have tried to reinstall the Innuos Zenith MK3 library, but comes back with cannot find music… was working fine earlier
Hi all, any news on when Playlists will be showing Artwork and the ability to add and create new ones?
Do you have questions about Apple Lossless Music and Sonos? Check out the latest video from Peter Pee. Enjoy!
I have 6 x Sonos Ones and SL’s, 2 x Sonos Amps and 3 x Sonos Ports which, as you can imagine, was a huge investment on my part to channel my YouTube Streaming Music via my Android phone across my property. Recently YT Music (YT) stopped working. When I try to play a YT playlist, I get the spinning circle of death on the play symbol. On the 1 time out of 15 it works, shuffle no longer works. Or it plays one different song then repeats the 4 songs its already previously played. Then it goes back to not playing at all. I have unlinked my account, relinked, reset my router, ‘forgotten’ my entire system, reset and reconnected every one of my components, uninstalled the app, reinstalled it, relinked YT, and relinked components. Sonos S1 gives me a really helpful option to download a google chrome app instead of downgrading my system to work on the S1 App.I see you can connect to the system by bypassing the Sonos App completely and connect directly to the system via the Spotify app. Howev
