HiMy Alexa is still not working properly. It will turn the TV on and off etc but on asking to play any music source it responds that it is doing so without any sound. If I ask it to play a specific playlist, skip, rewind, pause etc it just turns the volume up. This is on all my voice controlled Sonos products and seems to have started with the latest issue of IOS. I have submitted another diagnostic report no. 511485704 for you after asking it to play Spotify and Amazon. I am disabled and invested a heck of a lot to have voice controlled systems to let me cope and thus I find this totally unacceptable I’m afraid.
All, Just spent 90 minutes on the phone with Sonos support, they had me running in circles. Hoping for some guidance here. Long time very satisfied Sonos user, my system is old. Bridge, (3) Connects, Connect Amp, and (5) Play:1 speakers. The wall wart power cord for the Bridge died, so the system was without wireless connection. No Ethernet connections in my old house, so I hauled a Connect in and attached it to the router. System came back up in my Sonos S1 app. Questions for the forum:Do I even need to replace the Bridge with a Boost? None of my Sonos components are near an Ethernet connections, so I suspect I do. Or can they all just communicate on my home wifi now? If I need the Boost, is it backwards compatible with my old system, or am I better off finding a used Bridge on Ebay? I’ll start reading through the forum here and learning what Sonos has done in the past 4-5 years since I stopped paying attention. Honestly I’ve been enjoying my system, and I couldn’t spend anoth
Hi, new to the forum and I’ve seen several iterations to this question. Bottom line though is that my 4 different Sonos speakers are encountering the same problem. I get songs that skip, and then just don’t play and I get the message: Unable to play “x” connection to Apple music lost. What is frustrating is that I’ve spent 4 hours this week on the phone with Sonos support (the phone support is awful) and after 2+ hours last night and one disconnect from Sonos on the call, the guy told me to call my internet provider and have my router changed to “bridge mode.” When I called my internet provider today, they told me that bridge mode is an outdated old term and take the issue up with Apple. Folks, I made the plunge and invested big $ into my sonos system and it is now useless to me. This problem seems to be an old one, and I recognize that there are various iterations of solving that you might need to go down, but it is frustrating not to get any answers from Sonos. I’ve run multip

I have had this Sonos One for a year now with no problems, until yesterday, it couldn’t be found on Spotify, I tried turning the speaker off, nothing, deleted and re downloaded Spotify, nothing, restart router, nothing, I then go to the app, and it does an update, but then it says it can’t connect to Sonos, then I see there is a new app, I download that, it has me do the update again, but it still says cannot connect after doing the update, I have plugged it directly into the router and it will play music through the app but nothing else, and as soon as it’s unplugged it can’t find it, I have factory reset the speaker, and tried to set it up again, and it did find the device but as soon as I tried adding it to the WiFi, it loads for about 10 minutes and then it can’t find the speaker anymore. I don’t have any other ideas on what I can possibly do or what could be making it suddenly not work. Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated.
Hi all…I recently replaced a Connect with a Port in order to be able to play music via AirPlay to a pair of Play:1s in the same physical room (my old setup: I would AirPlay to an Airport Express that sent audio through an amplifier to a Connect that then talked to the Play:1s. Complicated but it did work).Using the guidance here I did the following:Created a Room for the Port and a Room for the pair of Play:1s Enabled Group Non-AirPlay Products in settings. Created a Group for the above two Rooms. The good news is that I can get this setup to work in order to stream music from a browser over AirPlay, as desired (I sometimes use a web-based streaming service that Sonos doesn’t support). However, the experience is incredibly clunky: the grouping must be maintained from the macOS desktop Sonos client (S2 groups on iOS do not work), the Group gets unpaired all the time, and often the Port can’t be selected as an output option from macOS Sound settings. Basically I have to go into the Sonos
My Play 5 gen1 no longer has any audio. It was a rapid decline. Initially the volume would rise and fall on its own and then cut out. It’s not muted. The control centre recognises the speaker as Scullery so it is connected to the group. The volume can be adjusted via the app or control but has no effect on the actual speaker. The other 7 speakers on the system are all ok. can this be age related as it is about 7-8 years old….. ?if it’s a fault can it be repaired?
I have a playbase and two play:1 for surround. Soundbase stopped working yesterday. To fix it I’ve tried:• Restart devices• restart router• update the app• update speakers• hard reset speakers and re-add to system• playbase giving me issues with the wi-fi config (connection error/unplug power cord/not connecting to mobile, etc)• ethernet cable on playbase to finish config. Worked fine• re-configure surround group• plug the Ethernet cable off and playbase disappears. No solution. So basically the playbase has stopped working via Wi-Fi and I can’t do anything else to fix it.nothing has changed in my setup that could cause this issues. Rebooted my router many times. Spend multiple hours trying different things and still no solution.any suggestions?
So I’ve had this speaker for over a year and recently it has started to disconnect from my WiFi randomly. It will just stop playing the song and when I try to get it work through Alexa it says it’s having a problem understanding. When I go into the app it says that it cannot cone t with the speaker because the speaker isn’t connected to the WiFi. Everything else in my house (tv, computer, phone, tablet) is all still connected so it’s not an internet issue. It won’t work again until I have unplugged the speaker and plugged it back in. It is doing this daily at this point. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I just moved into a new house and received the newer Xfinity XB7 Router. I am having issues setting up my Sonos network. I have my Gen2 Play 5 wired directly to the router and the Sonos rep said they can not see the device in the cloud. Has anyone had same type of issues with XB7 Router?
One of my speakers was missing last night and only a reboot would make it come back (lost my queue ).I checked my matrix today and see lots of red on the left.I’ve not made any changes recently that I can recall.Everything is connected on Sonosnet and it is the Connect that is hard wired.Anything obvious from the above where it could be breaking down?Sonos is on Channel 6 and home WiFi is on Channel 1Diagnostics:1534865620EDIT: Sorry for typo in title.
I suspect that my Port is causing problems. I am able to “cast” music to it from my iPhone (e.g. from the Amazon Music app) but it is not playing when I attempt to start music directly from the Sonos App. It appears as though it is working on the app - for example, when I play music through all my speakers and they are all playing on the app (little verticle lines going up and down next to each room/speaker) but no sound comes from the Port. I frequently get the “Unable to connect to a device. Try again later.” error message when navigating the app. I’ve tried checking for system updates (it says it’s up to date), updating the app (current version 12.2.2), unplugging/re-plugging the Port from the system… Thanks for the help, I hope!
Noticed recently that we weren't able to adjust volume with our remote control that was linked to Playbar. Current orientation is on the wall. The forward facing IR stopped flashing when trying to change volume. After further inspection, the volume was changing, but the bottom IR sensor was flashing. I'm interpreting this to mean the Playbar is confused on its orientation. We haven't moved it changed anything recently. It just started happening. Anyone know how to manually enforced orientation?
hi there Sonos Community, I’m getting the error message above when I play through the speaker via the Sonos phone App while another phone in the house listens to Spotify (but not through Sonos, just through Spotify). We have separate Spotify accounts. What is happening here? Thanks JJ
Hello, Ive recently bought the new iPhone SE and wanted to use the true play feature on my paired play 5s but I instantly get a network problem even though I’m connected to the same WiFi network as the speakers. I thought I’d try it on my iPad instead and it works perfectly fine, speakers tuned! I’ve triple checked all my settings, phone is updated, app is updated, WiFi network is correct. Has anyone else experienced this issue with the new iPhone SE or maybe even the iPhone 8 (as it’s pretty much the same phone). Everything else works on my iPhone SE: playing music, creating stereo pairs etc etc.
Hi guys,I haven’t got an email to contact support about this, it does not give me any option or to chat to an agent.I purchased my Sonos One (Gen 2) Only 6 months ago, the sound is distorted it was working perfectly up until recently completely distorted. The unit is unusable. I’ve attempted to restart it, tried every setting, all the troubleshooting tips and help I’ve been through have not made it any better. I was hoping someone could help me, or I could speak with a member of staff or email them, as I believe I’m still within my warranty rights. Can anyone assist? Thank you
I have just connected my Zone Player back into my system after moving house 2 years ago. It says it needs an update but unable to connect to update centre. Error 1101 Is it now redundant or can I get an old update to fix it? All other players and amp working fine.
It seems I’m stuck. Sonos has worked well for years with my sonos connect hard wired and everything else connecting via this. this summer I purchased a Move for the only room without sonos in it and have just had problems since as so I’ve found out, it doesn’t connect to the sonos network. I have to have range extenders or the like or I simply don’t get Wi-fi coverage throughout the house. I have a DrayTek router supplied by work for VPN so that can’t be changed. From what I’ve gathered mesh Wi-fi (which the router supports) won’t work with sonos. So I’m stuck with one room never being able to stream the same time as the others, which to my mind is the main reason I went with sonos to begin with. why doesn’t move support the sonos network?Any other ideas about what I can try? I can’t even buy a boost as this is fir sonos network I gather.
Can someone tell me how to stop the crackle/ static noise on my sound bar hooked up optically in front of LG C7P? Seems like a lot of people having this problem and theres no fix. diagnostic #8262397 .
Hello,Since I upgrade my App to Sonos 1, I can’t reconnect my Play 3 and Play 1. It works until I connect them to the Sonos WIFi and then the system can’t find them after pushing + and start/pause.can someone tell me whats wrong ? Thankscarole
I recently purchased a SAMSUNG - QE65Q700TATXXU. I’ve connected it directly with an optical cable to my Sonos Playbar which has two one speakers as rears (gen2).I’m experiencing a lip sync issues when using Sky Q - has anyone else experienced this?
Posting this in case it can help someone else with a similar situation. Background: 8 Sonos components in the house. A mix of legacy Connect, Connect:AMP, a newer model Connect:AMP, several Sonos Play:1 and Sonos One’s. All on Sonos S1, all on WM:1 (House Wifi) network.Netgear Orbi RBR50 router and two RBS50 satellites 2.4GHz Channel 1.Everything was working GREAT for YEARS.Then, I added a 9th speaker, a Sonos Move. This is where it starts getting weird.Speakers start dropping off the iPhone app. My son’s iPhone app… we are looking at them side-by-side… some are on my phone, some are on his phone, some are on both, some are on neither. Sometimes they would pop back on mine and then pop off again later.I figured it was just a software update issue. 2 weeks went by and it didn't magically fix itself.Did adding the Sonos Move cause this? I still can’t way for sure if it was coincidence or not. Anyhow… the really weird part… ALL of the speakers are still showing on my wired Windows 10 PC So
I have recently updated to the sonos2 app and following all the guidance and then troubleshooting the speaks still will not play. the app is stating that it is connected but when the music is selected to play it simply will not play. please help
