Hi, I have 3 perfectly great sounding but old Sonos 1, 3 and 5 speakers that I’d like to convert to Bluetooth. Am I right in saying that if I purchase “any” one Bluetooth enabled Roam or Era Sonos device that I can convert all of my current devices to Bluetooth? If my thoughts from my research are correct will one Roam or Era cover all 3 of my old devices? Many thanks in advance. Chris
Info overload trying to find this answer….I am not smrt when it comes to this type of thing. We have a Sonos amp, which we have situated in the furnace room next to the smart wiring in our home. The kitchen ceiling speakers (not Sonos) are connected to the Sonos Amp in that furnace room as that is where the ceiling speaker connections are located. Now my question…..it is possible to connect the tv on another floor to the Sonos Amp via the smart wiring (somehow) in the furnace room without moving it from the furnace room? Like through the router? ethernet cable? or some other way…..I know it is likely easiest to connect the amp directly to the tv using the arc; however there would be no way to connect the ceiling speakers as there are no wires to connect them near main floor tv.I am hoping someone can make sense of my question……..
Hi I am a custom installer and we did a restaurant with 10 Sonos ONE SL’s. About 2 years after the install we had two of them sound like the speaker was blown, they were working fine but just sounded terrible. We sent them to our distributor and they advised us that the speaker is blown and we should reach out directly to Sonos, which we did. They approved a RMA replacement even though they were out of warranty which we were very grateful for. Less than a year after these two blew we have had another two blow but now Sonos does not want to give an out of warranty RMA. I have come across other posts on this forum with the exact same issue and what looks like a Sonos representative stating they would replace the units if they were blown and not up to standard. Were these units defective which caused them to blow and if the two were initially replaced why are the other two not being replaced because of the exact same issue?
My Connect:Amp occasionally drops-out and regularly stops tracks 10 seconds before the end. It continues to play the next track at the right time and stays in sync on timing with all my other Connect:Amps, Play 1s and Play 5, but just stops playing for the final 10 seconds. It is on the latest firmware. Every device is hard-wired. A reboot doesn’t make any difference. My setup has been stable (since some issues last year totally coincidentally about the time of the app debacle where some of the devices moved to new firmware and others didn’t. I now update them all manually so I can monitor updates and ensure they don’t break everything) except for this one device (and the general slowness of the app everyone has, of course).
Hi there,My current setup in the living room: An Arc, a pair of One SL as surrounds, and a Sub gen4.I have recently purchased a pair of Kef R3 meta and am using Cambridge Evo 75 as amp. Just bought a Sonos Port and have successfully connected the Kefs to the port via RCA cables. However, the volume output on the Kefs is extremely low when port is selected as its input source, especially when the volume control on the Sonos app is set to Fixed or Variable. I have switched to Pass-through and tried manually adjusting volume via the amp, which is slightly better but I’d still have to bump it up to above 50db minimum to notice anything. Volume limit is set to 100%. There’s no line-in source on the port because I am only looking to group the Kefs with the sonos system together when I am using the TV. Arc is linked to TV via an HDMI cable. The Kefs and Cambridge evo are perfectly working fine on their own.
We are facing the following issue with a system where 2 Sonos Ports are connected to a Sonos Ready amplifier by Onkyo. Despite pass-through mode, the volume fluctuates unpredictably and constantly. Please advise.
I have a perfectly functional Sonos Gen 1 system with several Sonos amps driving in wall and freestanding speakers and subs. Obviously the older stuff is not really supported anymore, but it still works fine. Question is…can I purchase a Sonos port and integrate it into the existing system to upgrade to the newest operating system? Will it then feed to the other amps (there are 4 total.)I hate to toss perfectly functional equipment. I typically listen to only 1 or 2 rooms at a time from my iPad or iPhone as it’s just me living in the house.
Just moved into a new home that has built-in speakers which I want to make 4 zones from (Zone 1: 4 ceiling speakers in living room +1 ceiling speaker in kitchen nearby; Zone 2: 2 wall speakers in dining room; Zone 3: 4 speakers on porch; Zone 4: 2 speakers next to porch facing pool). I previously had arc/beam/surround/sub setups in multiple rooms which I will still use for rooms which are not prewired. I've gone back and forth with not using the built ins and adding more sonos speakers, or using multiple sonos amps, or using the sonos port with a sepearate muli zone amp. I want to have full control of which zones are playing at the same time rather than have all on or off. I also would like to be able to control the zones and volume from my phone. Is the best option just to spend the extra money and get individual sonos amps? Would having non-sonos speakers be a good option if the home is already prewired in terms of quality? Any details and tips on actual setup would also be appreciat
Connected 4 Polk speakers to my Sonos amp and one of the Polk speakers is not working? Thank You,
Hi all,as title says really. I’m currently in the process of a kitchen renovation and trying to understand whether or not I can wire 6 Sonance VP60Rs to a single Sonos amp ? All I can seem to find is the following “The Sonos Amp is designed to reliably power up to three pairs (six total) of Sonos Architectural by Sonance speakers (INCLGWW1) when wired in parallel”I do have a second amp but was planning on using that exclusively for a pair of outdoor speakers. Thanks in advance
Hi - for years now I have been able to stream the audio from an Insignia tv via the RCA outputs on the tv to the RCA inputs on my older Sonos gen 1 amps to the various speakers throughout our home. simply plugged in and it works though the “Audio Component” setting in the Sonos 1 app with no problems. I just replaced the Insignia TV with (an older) Sony XBR55X900A TV. I have plugged in the same RCA cable into (what I think are) the RCA audio outputs on the back of the Sony, but it is not working.
I have 4 Sonos amps and 4 pairs of Sonance by Sonos speakers. 2 pairs are older and are detectable by the amps and 2 new pairs are not. The 2 pairs that are not detectable are brand new out of the box. The amps are from Sonos and the speakers were from Amazon so there is no question about authenticity. Why aren’t the speakers detectable? I haven’t been able to find an answer here.
This is the setup I have and when I watch a movie or music above 65 the amp turns off and restarts I have volume limit turned off. Any suggestions as to what I did wrong in this setup? Thanks!
Love the new conversation starter. Another innovative feature from Sonos.
Currently building a house and am setting up my 41’ x 18’ L/R, D/R, Kitchen with Sonos. I have an Arc Ultra going over the FP, base next to it.. Thinking (2) 6” in ceiling speakers for rears but debating kitchen/dining room area.. 2 diagrams attached.. was going to go with number 2 but now considering number 1 in Mono mode.. thoughts? not putting over the dining room table, chandelier.. Thanks!
My system originally was set up with 4 amps and 4 separate rooms (kitchen, dining, workout, and patio). Somewhere something “reset itself” and now I only see two rooms on the app (kitchen & dining room). However, when I set to play music in the kitchen it also plays in the patio, and when I play music in the dining room it also plays in the workout room. I attempted to reset (simple unplug and plug back in). It still does the same thing. Any guidance how to get back to the four separate rooms?
Hi Guys please excuse my lack of knowledge on this. I have a whole home Sonos set up. I went against having halway speakers when the house was being built. After living in the house I decided that I wanted hallway speakers too. There were two ceiling speakers close by but in another room. My Av guys have ‘piggy backed’ from those speakers and managed to get connections to the two additional speakers. the issue I have is that whilst the original ceiling speakers still sound good. The new hallway speakers are quiet and lacking any energy.is there a way to improve the sound?
Hi, I recently bought the Pro Ject turntable and connected it to the Sonos Amp and paired it with a nice pair of Martin Logan speakers and I’m using the Sonos Sub Gen 3 as subwoofer and it works flawlessly. Although I’m nostalgic with vinyl records, my kids are nostalgic with CD’s so I went to my storage and pulled out all my CDs and bought a CD player. I connected the Amp to a Duac Audio input switch and VU meter and the turntable works flawlessly, however, the CD player had a slight delay when playing the first song. We miss the first few seconds of the first song making me have to go back and restart it. I have the delay feature to minimum (75ms). Is there something else I can do to make it start from the get go? I’m thinking it’s the sub. Everything, the Amp and the sub are hardwired to my router. Thanks in advance.
I have the sonos outdoor speakers but it’s not being detected by the Sonos Amp. Any suggestions on what to do? I purposely bought these speakers because of that feature.
I have recently added a Sonos Port to my Sonos system, working well.A small observation, after I have turned the turntable OFF with “Line Level Output” connected directly to Port, I still see a continuous network stream on my WiFi from Port to Sonos Speakers, looking on the Sonos App I see the animated graphic equaliser icon next to the line-in in Sonos App.To stop this network stream, I click ‘Stop’ in Sonos App. Is this normal behaviour for the Port, or is it not ‘auto-detecting’ the line-in state correctly?
Hi,I have a Sonos Connect:Amp. As I changed my WiFi provider I had to reinstall the Sonos item. As I went through the process, it ran an update and I got error message 1,108. For some reason find anywhere what this error code supposed to mean. Can anybody help? Below a screenshot from the error message.
I currently have the Garden Series 8.1 system in the garden around my 16x36 pool. Most of the speakers in the garden face my house from the opposite side of the pool. I’d like to add outdoor speakers onto my house facing the pool to get better sound coverage across the entire yard and the patio that sits between my house and the pool. Which outdoor speakers would be best to use on the house so that the sound produced by the Garden Series and outdoor speakers sounds roughly the same? Does it really matter? The sound will sort of overlap in some areas, especially on the patio. in this setup I would connect the outdoor speakers on the house to a separate Sonos amp to create 2 zones. 1 for the pool and 1 for the patio. Appreciate any insight anyone has.
FIX!!! (Ish). I have this exact problem and just fixed it! One month ago my playbar stopped recognizing volume controls from both my apple remote and my Samsung tv remote. I spoke to Sonos and was told that the IR receiver was likely toast and it can't be replaced. By complete coincidence the Spanish power outage fried my legacy google Chromecast device so I upgraded to a Chromecast 4k. Just for giggles I thought I would try to set it up with Sonos as my new remote. It worked in a second and is flawless!! The IR receiver is fine! I'm still convinced that a software update impacted these remotes. If you are having this issue, try a Chromecast remote!
If I connect a CD player (AUX) with Sonos Connect Amp Gen 2, can I add a Sonos Sub Gen 2 to this setup? I am thinking that the Sub is wireless and the speaker/CD player connected to the Amp are wired. Will there be any delay? Or is it better with a third party wired sub?
Hello I have a connect:amp s2. I have had it previously connect to my system and it worked fine. I recently change out some components and removed all of the S2 amps. I want to now add one back in and it will not go past the press the button on your connect:amp page. The button press is never recognized. I have read of a couple of instances of this happening but did not see any resolution to this issue, anyone run into this?
