Info overload trying to find this answer….I am not smrt when it comes to this type of thing. We have a Sonos amp, which we have situated in the furnace room next to the smart wiring in our home. The kitchen ceiling speakers (not Sonos) are connected to the Sonos Amp in that furnace room as that is where the ceiling speaker connections are located.

Now my question…..it is possible to connect the tv on another floor to the Sonos Amp via the smart wiring (somehow) in the furnace room without moving it from the furnace room? Like through the router? ethernet cable? or some other way…..

I know it is likely easiest to connect the amp directly to the tv using the arc; however there would be no way to connect the ceiling speakers as there are no wires to connect them near main floor tv.

I am hoping someone can make sense of my question……..

The ‘only’ way to get the TV’s signal to the Amp is via HDMI-ARC, or by the RCA inputs, the latter which will incur a 75ms delay. There is no way to ‘send’ the TV’s signal via an Ethernet connection. No cable, no ‘smart wiring’, only an ARC connection.

The speakers, I assume, are already connected to the Amp, they would not need to be connected to the TV.

I am assuming you want to hear the audio from the TV in the kitchen sometimes. This is possible, but it requires a Sonos soundbar or Amp directly connected to the TV with a HDMI cable. Then you can group the TV speaker and the Amp to play the same audio.

I have no experience with this gadget, but it might work for you. Note that it does not work over an Ethernet connection. You would need to repurpose one of your CAT-5/6 wires.
