Amazon Alexa and Sonos

This has been a problem since the BBC stations left TuneIn and I’ve seen lots of posts on it but I just wondered if Sonos have sorted out the voice integration with the BBC Sounds app. When I ask to play a BBC radio station on the Sonos One I get the announcement and the BBC Sounds jingle but no radio sound. It works via AirPlay, but not being able to activate it via voice for months now is really annoying. 

Hi,Prior to two days ago our Sonos system was working fine, now whenever we ask Alexa to play “Fun Kids radio”, it plays Fun Kids Junior.We can play Fun Kids through the Sonos app but not if we ask Alexa.Before it started doing this we didn't even know there was a Fun Kids Junior.Has anybody any suggestions as to how to correct this?Thanks

When will multiroom be available with Sonos speakers (with Alexa built in) and Amazon Echos?

I’ve seen a lot of conversations in this forum about TV control voice commands through a Beam or Arc not working properly, but most seem to indicate intermittent success or that one or the other command won’t work (i.e. can tell Alexa to turn the TV on and that works, but off doesn’t, or vice-versa). I just installed a new Arc (upgrading from a Playbar) and it’s setup and functioning perfectly, including the Alexa integration.  However, I cannot get the Sonos Arc to control my TV at all.  I have a Samsung Frame, model # QN55LS03RAFXZA.  I have the Sonos Arc connected to my TV’s HDMI/ARC port and I have HDMI-CEC/Anynet+ turned on.  However, whenever I attempt to turn the TV on or off by voice (“Alexa, turn on the TV”), Alexa responds with “Sorry I didn’t find a device with the name TV.”  I tried other variations...Alexa, power up the tv...Alexa, power on the tv...etc.  And I was online with Support for 30 minutes with no success either.What confuses me is that when I issue that verbal c

I just purchased the Sonos One device. Aside from it not being very user friendly to sync with my Alexa app, it also doesn’t have the capability of customizing its own wake word. So, I have to be aware of how loud I say “ALEXA”. Otherwise, my Alexa device in the kitchen hears me.  This should be a moderately easy software update and it is definitely a trending concern for your customers.  It’s obviously important to us. So, I hope that it is important to you. 

I think I have found the solution that I am looking for, but wanted to run this by others. I know from reading that there seems to be various ways to use the Echo Link (no amp version) My proposed use is rather simple. I want to take the optical output of the Echo Link and run it unit the optical in of my Sonos Playbar. This will allow me to drive music through the rest of the house that is composed of Echo product, and my living room Sonos system at the same time.  Any reason why this should not work?  Thank you for your time. 

I can’t find a post that is unocked or less than 10 months old about this. I am about to expand my smart speaker collection and so far only use Sonos in one room. I’d ideally get more Sonos speakers, but I really like having my music playing across my house. I know MRM is available on other third-part speaker systems but would rather stick with Sonos if this feature will be available soon. Are there any workarounds to get Sonos to work with MRM?

Hi All, I purchased a Sonos Beam ~45 days ago.  I set it up with 65” TCL425.  Everything worked great until about a week ago.  I can’t get the Alexa to switch the sound to the TV unless I power cycle the TV.  The voice command I was using was “Alexa, transfer to TV” and it use work.  When I try to do it now it says “hmm  I can’t transfer to that input, for a list of supported inputs please visit the list of supported devices”   I completely reset the Sonos Beam & TCL.  Still doesn’t work.  Any ideas?

Find this a very unreliable system. Keeps breaking its connection with Alexa. I reset it works for a time and then loses connection. No problem with my broadband. Also ARC connection to LG TV stops working frequently despite trying 2 HDMI cables and checking connection. Sound is reasonable but wish I hadn't bought due to unreliability

Hi. I’ve seen this issue raised elsewhere as long ago as 2 years back but there has still been no satisfactory resolution. I have a Sonos One with the Alexa capability. Whenever I ask Alexa to play a track, it announces the track as the track actually begins to play. This happens whenever I use the voice command, “Alexa, play track-x”. I don’t have an Echo Dot or any other related/connected device. Why has this still not been sorted out? It’s really frustrating and should be easily fixed with a patch. Can you reply to my questions? I would like to direct my Alexa to play a spotify playlist on a certain wired home speaker. Sonos will do it with my sonos app. I want to use Alexa. Any help? 

I am pleased to see the Alexa integration now supporting routines on Sonos devices. I have an Alexa “Good Morning” routine that plays my Flash News Briefing and when complete turns on the Radio and Lights in the Bathroom. If this routine is triggered on an Echo Dot it works well, if the routine is triggered on the Sonos device it plays the Flash News Briefing but does not turn on the Radio or the Lights. When the Sonos device plays the Flash News Briefing I never get the “this completes your Flash News Briefing” message that I get from the Echo device.Appreciate any thoughts or suggestions… spent way too much time on this already :) 

Recently sold my Sonos system without realising I needed to do a factory reset on them.  I had the old Sonos 1& the Sonos Play. I had linked them to my Amazon Alexa. Now I cannot play music through Alexa since it is still linked to my Sonos. Help!!

After an initial successful setup with two Sonos Ones, I have recently expanded my Sonos setup using a Beam and two Play:1. This has led to me moving the Ones to other rooms. I’ve renamed them, and re-tuned. Frequently, going into the app, they’ve reverted to their old ‘room names’. I can re-name them back again, and checking on all my mobile devices this applies successfully. Next day, the changes are undone again. So far, tried asking Alexa to rediscover devices, and have deleted Apple Home app. Any ideas?

Alexa is working the sonos amp just fine. I can’t get the S2 app to see the Sonos amp any longer. Alexa is working with it.  I have unplugged and rebooted. I can get S2 to work but then it gives me issues with Alexa. So confused obviously it’s on my network and working but the S2 app can’t find it any longer.  Anyone experience this??? Looking to expand on my amp and get more, but this problem is making me rethink this direction.Help.

I'm listening to my TV through Beam. I use Alexa to switch to play some music via Tidal. I cant seem to figure out how to get back to audio from the TV. I've tried “Alexa stop music,” and “Alexa play TV sound” and various iterations of this. What am I doing wrong? Is there an Alexa command for this? Thanks!

Hi Sonos Community, So my early experience with Sonos & Amazon Alexa are far from impressive; she doesn’t listen, when she does its often having to repeat myself, she will sometimes when music is off, she will start playing randomly the music she was last playing…  Now while i appreciate the sound improvement of the Sonos, the integration with Alexa is far from impressive. . .  On scan of forums, the usual gripes by other users, so is this ‘experience’ i am getting as good as it gets?   AND while i have yet to do the deregistration of the service, i’d challenge why deregistering a service via an app is going to fix these ‘intermittent’ issues . . . happy to try, but i’d be pleasantly surprised if this is the issue. . .  my bigger concern is how well Sonos & Alexa actually get on . .. at the current rate of success, it will be going back which would be real shame as all but Alexa works well..  PS - i am doing nothing more than requesting radio via bbc service (uk); but i can’t b

Starting roughly Dec '18, Alexa stopped playing music on my Sonos One. It acknowledges that it's going to play music, but then nothing; silence. I've logged out of Amazon on all account and on the web, and I've removed Alexa from the Sonos app, then reinstalled and logged in, but that didn't work. Today, I logged out of Amazon on all devices and the web, uninstalled both the Sonos and Alexa apps on both of my devices, and factory reset my Sonos One; still the same issue exists. I used to play Amazon music, but I also tried adding iHeartRadio, but Alexa still acknowledges the request but doesn't play music. I'm getting so frustrated that this is an issue in the first place, and that it's so difficult to come up with a solution. I'd greatly appreciate any advice I can get to get Alexa playing music again.

I purchased the Move about a month ago. Have it linked to Alexa and use it mainly to play on Spotify. Voice commands will work for a period of time then will stop responding to Alexa. Only thing that works is removing Alexa via the Sonos app then re-adding. That will work for a period of time then it will stop working again. I’ve tried resetting the Move, enabling/disabling the skill in Alexa, logging out of Alexa and logging back and nothing works. The only thing that gets the voice commands working again is deleting & adding the voice assistant in the Sonos app, which again only works for a period of time before it stops responding to the Alexa voice command.  Any thoughts?Thanks a lotSonos diagnostic code: 169626  

I have an echo dot and when I say “Alexa play “song name” it plays the song. When I do the same thing with my Sonos move it says it will only play the song with Amazon music unlimited. Are my accounts just not linked correctly or will the echo dot do it free since it is an Amazon product?
