Advanced setups

My Sonos can currently be controlled by SmartThings and Alexa. I originally set up SmartThings so that I could turn the Sonos off and on via Alexa before Alexa supported Sonos directly. Now that Sonos integration with Alexa is released, I want to remove Sonos from SmartThings. For the life of me, I cannot find a way to deauthorize SmartThings. Am I just missing the obvious here, or is Sonos not giving users the option to deauthorize third parties?

Has anyone paired bluetooth headphones to a Gen 2 Play 5 using a 3rd party bluetooth transmitter / receiver? If it has been done please can you post a step by step guide on how to do it. Do you then play the music as normal through the Sonos app. Thank in advance.

I've been talking to my Playbar with UPnP. I have the following setup: In-ceiling speakers connected through a Connect:AMP 2 Play:1 speakers in separate rooms 1 Connect Marantz NR1504 Receiver 2 PSB Alpha T1s AT-LP60 Turntable I want to be able to play the Television and the turntable through the Sonos system. What is the proper set-up?

I have a Connect AMP and just purchased a Marantz NR1504. Is there a way to play from the SONOS to the 1504 through the Network without connecting speaker output? Basically using the SONOS as my media player. Thanks

I have a Sonos Connect connected to an amp (more accurately a pair of active studio monitors, but effectively the same). Every time I start playing music for that room I need switch the power socket on for the multiplug that they're powered from. Other people may have amps that auto switch on when they detect an input signal but that's not an option for me. I would have thought its fairly common issue but I'm really struggling to find a solution. There's this discontinued product, the Parasound SCAMP: parasound.com/pdfs/vintage/scampom.pdf (Sorry, this forum won't let me post clickable links until I've posted 3 times!) Which while being on ebay is expensive, but more importantly the wrong voltage (and ideally would be better with kettle style power outputs, or at least UK sockets). Hi. I have 17 Zone players at my house. We are in the process of replacing our NetGear router due to a malfunction with a UniFi security gateway (Router) and a UniFi switch (24 port). My question relates to the switch and if it will support STP. Currently I have a PLAY-5 wired to the router as well two Connect-AMPS I use for Bose speakers in the basement. My setup has been working flawlessly for several years with the NetGear router and switches. I dont have much experience with Ubiquiti products or their gateways & switches. I may have to connect just one Play-5 directly to the router and let this player start SONOSNET. If anyone has any experience with UniFi products and can share any setup issues etc that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I was wondering if a Sonos system can be provided with power by using POE. If not, are there any plans to integrate this in future releases?

I live in a condo that has open plan living, dining, kitchen area ( L shaped -- with the small part of the L being the kitchen). I have 2 Play:3's in the living room set up as stereo configuration, and a One on the kitchen counter. When I'm listening to music it would normally be from the living room speakers -- when I'm in the kitchen area, generally the One (and when at the breakfast counter bar. Currently the Play:3's are configured for "Living Room" and the One for "Kitchen". Sometimes I've got both of them running together ... here's my question. Can I add another "room" configuration that includes all the speakers? So I'd have the current "Living Room", "Kitchen" and then another "Big Room" (or whatever). I would then "tune" the "Big Room" to be optimized for the larger space with all three speakers running. Thanks!

Hi, I have an LG OLED TV and Xfinity. Is there a way to have two remotes control the volume on playbar setting (+sub+suround)? or can I only choose one? when we watch Xfinity we prefer to use Xfinity remote for X1 voice control that the LG Magic remote doesn't support, but then its annoying to back to LG remote for volume. I have a ZP100 that has updated to 8.1 but will not register. I get a time out with the message "Setup Problem Check your internet connection and that all your players are plugged in". I have tried the registration process with this player many times over the last 2 weeks. Other players (ZP100s among them) have not had this issue. We have a yoga studio with many instructors and 2 Sonos speakers. Can each instructor with their own Sonos login and app access the same set of speakers when they teach their own class?

Is there a change to how the latest software works? I am suspecting that the system now needs to always see a live internet connection, and that if it goes., the system will fail or the controller will lose connection to the players? We are in an area with little or no internet and use local content store, we also have systems on a boat that has no internet. The latest SW seems to prevent you from using the system if you do not have a permanent internet connection. If I am not using streaming services, why must I keep a connection open to the SONOS mothership?

Curious what innovative ways folks have integrated your SONOS connects with your existing receivers. I've tried a few things, but not thrilled with any of them unfortunately so far, and am tempted to just have a separate set of speakers/amp. How do you deal with volume control - Since volume control will be tied to other receiver sources like TV. I am currently implementing Wifi Mac Address filtering in my current company and our sonos runs off of wifi. With saying that I have to enter the wifi mac address into the WLAN controller to allow access for the sonos to still work. I know they say that you will just need to +1 to the end of the Serial number/ wired mac that is on the bottom sticker. However the issue I am having is some of the MAC's end in letters and I cannot +1 them unless lets say it ends in A then the wireless is B? Thanks for any help on this issue.

Currently have a Yamaha RX-V665 powering a 5-channel surround system in the MAIN room, and 3 pairs of speakers (with impedance-matching volume sliders) on the receiver's Zone2 speaker outputs. Plan to add a Sonos ZP80 as input source to the receiver. So playing music from Sonos involves turning on the receiver and setting it to input Sonos (one button on programmable universal remote, no problem there,) then using the Sonos app (or CR100 controller) to select & play music. OK all's well. It's when we go turn things OFF that I'm at a loss. If one simply turns off the main receiver (ALL OFF on the remote,) of course the sound stops, but the Sonos is still streaming music (using bandwidth) unless one explicitly remembers to stop it from the app/controller. One thought I have is to use an automatic power switch to power ON the Sonos when the receiver is powered on, and power down when the receiver goes off. But the delay at startup may be an issue... I’m loving my sonos play 1 and sound bar so much that I’ve purchased three Connect amps to tie in my hard-wired speakers and run everything off Sonos. I’ve got my Connect amps sitting beside my router and they aren’t being recognised or connecting. Tried all troubleshooting. Ended up connecting one via Ethernet, but don’t have any more spare ports on router to connect the other two. Secondary issue, now that one connect amp is connected via Ethernet, this is working but I now can’t find my other older sonos products on the app. Tried my two different controller devices. Driving me nuts.

Amazon Echo sounds interesting. It would be great if this could be used as a controller for Sonos.

Hello. I would like to formally make an enhancement request. Please, please, please, add a password protection mechanism to the Sonos Controller. I work in a variety of offices that have spent a small fortune on Sonos equipment, and we have the same problem at each office: People hijack the Sonos, skip other people's music, play inappropriate music, tweak the volume, etc. A simple password protection mechanism would rid me of so many headaches without the need for advanced network configuration changes.

Hi there, I run a recreational facility (20,000 ft) with two large gyms as well as a number of smaller rooms. We have a five Unifi access points throughout the building providing both guest and private wireless networks. In addition, to the Unifi access points, there are a four access points for an ISP provided public wireless network. All of our instructors use Android tablets to take attendance and play music for their classes. I am looking to setup a number of Sonos Connect in order to make it easier for the instructors to play music in different areas without having to plug in an Aux cable and leave their tablets next to the speaker systems. If I hard wire ALL of the Sonos connect will they turn off their built in wireless and use my wired network to communicate? I don't want to add any more WiFi devices if possible since we already have some issues with congestion due to the large number of access points and users (at peak times we have hundreds of users in the facility,

When I first installed my Sonos it was required all the components be on the same subnet (no routing). I've now grown a more sophisticated routed network at home. is there anything I could run on a linux box to bridge the traffic between 2 subnets so that the sonoses are reachable from either wireless system?

Hi All, Looking for a little help as my audo guy bailed before finishing my setup. Here is what I got set up and what I am looking to do; sorry it is long. I have a Denon AVR 4520ci. Currently, I have a connect hooked up for my living room 5.1 surround as well as 3 sonos AMPS which control my dining room, game room and backyard speakers (Sonaray SR1 System). The connect is currently hooked up to my Audio in #5 for CD which will play my Apple TV, TV and stream my sonos to living room. The sonos amp with 55W was not enough to power my backyard speakers, so, I ordered a connect to hook up to my zone 2 in hopes that my receivers wattage is enough to power the backyard without an additional AMP as it states it is 190w x 9 channels. My question is, assuming my wattage is enough for the backyard speakers is; how do i connect Zone 2 to the backyard so that the backyard can be grouped to play living room, dining room, game room music as well as music on its own zone? I have a sonos connect for several play speakers throughout my home. The connect is located in my music room (but I do not have a speaker in this room). However, I have a nice system that I would like to have the option of running through. Can I run the connect through my Zoom R24 recorder and then into some Yamaha HS5 powered speakers? Before I try to connect any of this, I thought it might be best to get some input about whether this is possible to do, and if it is, how to do it. Thanks in advance.
