What to get

Hi. I’ve been slowly expanding our Sonos setup. Next up is the main family room TV setup. Currently I have just the playbar there (original playbar). Works great for TV. I’m wanting to add a pair of fives for both music and TV. This will not be a 5.1 setup as I don’t plan on adding the sub and I want to place the 2 fives on either side of the TV on stands. My question is, will this setup work well for TV along with the Playbar? I know the fives will be great for music, but I’m hoping it will also enhance the TV sound as well.Thanks so much for any thoughts and advice!

Hi, I've been thinking about moving away from Google Home and Chromecast devices for a while as they've been unreliable for Multiroom audio. I bought a Beam and 2 x One's to get my head around how everything works and try a few configurations.I had initially planned to buy a Sonos Amp and speakers and a pair of One's for my living room but after testing the Beam in the Living room I've been very impressed. The Beam plus One's for music is pretty good and for TV is as good as I need. This has made me think that a Playbase with the 2 One's may be good enough for the Living room and with the current discounts would be under half the price of the Amp plus decent speakers. Can anyone comment on how much better the Playbase with be over the Beam and how much better than that for music an Amp plus say B&W 607 or Dali Oberon 1 speakers might be.I'm never going to add a Sonos sub but I do have a nice small sealed 8" sub which I could use with the Amp if it would help as the speakers cannot

I have been waiting for the Arc to be available on the Sonos site but shipping keeps getting pushed back. I see they are available at many retailers though.

Sorry if this should be obvious…I have a very old Bridge/ZonePlayer 80 setup that runs through my traditional speakers, and I’m fine with that and staying on the old app.  My wife wants to add music in her office and was wondering if I can add refurbished Play:1 that I can get on the Sonos site (for $99).  Seems like the best choice if it will work without me having to upgrade everything!Thank you!

A couple of the Sonos products in my system are out of date and need to be “updated” (replaced).   One of them is the Connect Amp in my den.   The reason I originally got the Connect Amp was to integrate a pair of bookshelf speakers that I already had, and that I really like.   For the upgrade, I think my options are (1) replace the Connect Amp with the new Amp and continuing using the bookshelf speakers, or (2) buy a pair of Sonos 5’s, ditch the Connect Amp and sell the bookshelfs.   Option 2 would cost me several hundred dollars less when netting out the money I’d get from selling the bookshelfs.    I guess my questions are:   (1) Are there advantages to going with a 100% Sonos setup, versus having some third-party speakers and an Amp?  (2) Sonically, how do the new Sonos 5’s compare to high-end bookshelf speakers running through an Amp?    (3) Anyone interested in buying a pair of Proac Tablette Reference 8 bookshelf speakers….?

My mum has Alzheimer’s and her hearing is not great.  I want to set up a system for her that will give her great sound in her small sitting room when she watches tv.  I want it to be easy to use so hopefully she can just turn on the tv and the speakers come on automatically and work from the tv remote.  I haven’t purchased the tv yet either so need to know what features it needs.  My thoughts were to have a couple Play 1’s on stands beside the couch.  Is that the way to do it and if so what else do I need?  I know I can’t connect them directly to the tv.  Thanks so much.  I’m really hoping this improves her tv listening a lot and I really want to give her this gift.  Cheers!

Hi All,I have a several speaker ranging from Play 1to Play 5 beams sub etc Like most people who been using Sonos for 10 years we can up grade.My question is the festive offer off £100 for a Move doesn't qualify me the further 15% off.In fact it take the 15% off and not show the £100 off. So is it one or the other?

Why can’t I get an ARC? Distributors, retail stores don’t have them.

What are the easiest and most inexpensive options to sync additional speakers in your house to a Sonos One?  

I purchase the Sonos 5’s pair and a 5.1 entertainment set.  Both of which are on backorder.  any idea when those items might be shipped? 

What is with Sonos customer service? It is nearly impossible to get any information on the order I placed. I finally got the order number which shows status as “backorder” which I understand but theyhave not provided any further info after I requested an estimated shipping date. I am really excited about the Arc playbar I ordered but getting leary over their lack of response on delivery.OV Don

Hello,Please do excuse my naivety but I’m not very technically minded and still not clear after searching for related topics. I’m looking for some friendly advice on the purchase of a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Turntable. I have a number of Sonos:One speakers that are grouped and I need an appropriate line-in to play through those speakers. However, I’m struggling to decide what is best, Sonos:Five, Port or Amp. My preference would be a Sonos:Five but can someone please confirm that I can use that as a line-in for the turntable, while still being able to Group to the other speakers and play through all of them, including the Sonos:Five? Any assistance gratefully received. Thanks. 

Is there a way to convert sound from 3.5 audio out At my projector to the Beam HDMI (arc) input?

Just moved into a new home with 4 ceiling speakers already installed in my living room. I use a Beam under my tv right now but wonder if getting an amp for the ceiling speakers is worth it. Any recommendations?Thanks. 

I have 1 Sonos soundbar and subwoofer hooked to my TV inside, 2 Play 1’s, 1 Amp powering 2 outdoor speakers on my deck, 1 connect amp powering 2 more outdoor speakers, 1 Beam connected to a separate garage kitchen. 1) I want to get 1 more amp for a single outdoor speaker that I already have. What is recommended?  Why is it when I stream through my Beam that I cannot listen to something different on my other speakers unless I shut off the Beam?

Hi guys, I have recently purchased a Sonos Beam, I had an existing Sonos 1 and an older Play 1. I would like to set up surround sound with the beam but don’t really need another speaker with Alexa. Can I use a Sonos play 1 (2nd Gen) with my older speaker to achieve this?  TIA jon

OK, So I’m enjoying playing records and have hardwired via a 20m RCA lead my turntable into one of my existing Connect Amps. Have a 7 room set up with ceiling speakers in the house.The cable is unsightly and a pain, and to hide it will be a major job.I’m trying to get my head around the following:If I buy another Connect or connect amp, put it next to my turntable and wire the turntable directly to that but no speakers, can I then get it to connect wirelessly  to the existing Sonos network and play records throughout the house?  

Hi! I have 4 Sonos One speakers, 1 Sonos Playbar and I use the Sonos S1 app - I want to get a subwoofer, but am unsure which Gen I should get? The Gen 3 is only compatible with the Sonos S2 app, but I don´t think I can connect my speakers to the new version?  

I’m considering the purchase of a Playbase.  Can anyone tell me if the issue of failing WiFi cards was resolved later in the production run?  If buying a Playbase is a roll of the dice, I will look at buying a Beam instead.  Thanks for any input.  I appreciate this forum.
