The order page states February 26, 2021. Seems like a LONG time, especially since we’re now in the holiday gift-giving season!

Due to the pandemic there are major global supply chain disruptions. No single company has control over these.

I don’t know which chips MOVE uses, but there was a major semiconductor plant fire in October. If MOVE uses any of the high end audio chips produced here, there will not be any MOVE’s in the near future. While it might be possible to substitute some parts, it requires weeks of engineering redesign and testing in order to switch production to new parts. Plus, other high end manufacturers might be on a similar substitution path and the substitute parts will be in short supply simply because of raw demand. Many people feel that the AKM chips are best in class. It’s hard for companies and consumers to commit to down grade a product, simply to be able to sell something. Perhaps there could be a downgraded MOVE2, but it would require weeks to get this into production. Customers usually expect “new and improved”. I don’t know what the reaction might be to “new and not quite as good”. Plus, the overall parts cost might not change significantly. Would customers accept paying the same price for “not quite as good”?
