My lounge is approx 8m by 14m. we don’t have a TV here, so the playbar etc is elsewhere.

it’s not a “party place “ either , but I would like to acheive “punchy” sound that can fill the room.

Should I plan for an in-ceiling set ? A

pair of  Play fives  ? Alternatively more Play threes or perhaps four or more play 1’s and a sub ?

What are your thoughts ?

I don’t know about “punchy”, but all large spaces offer the problem of music sounding too loud close to the speaker/speaker pair for it to be well heard on the other side of the space.

I would start with three 1 units, two of which can be stereo paired. The third speaker, at a distance addressing the other side of the space, playing as a group with the pair. If that does not solve the problem referred, add one more play 1 unit to address the gap. More than four are probably overkill.

If this still does not meet the need for punch, add the Sub.
