Hi, I am planning to buy a sonos 5 and a turntable to start listening to old LPs, I would also like to listen to old CD collections, the questions are:Can you recommend a CD player I should buy? Can I use the external port on the sonos 5 for a CD player. Is it possible to use a twin adapter so I can have both CD and Turntable connected to the single Sonos 5 external port?Thanksmccmyles
Sonos and audio noob here. Just starting out with a Beam in the living (tv + music) and a One in the bedroom. My wife wants to keep the cd collection + a player, so I'm looking at Connect-ing the player. However, our current mini audioset has only headphone output, so now I'm wondering whether that's enough as input for the Connect (with an adapter cable), or whether I should look into getting a new cd player. And if so, what specs for the output connection? Dual tulip connectors?(Yes, I expect the cd player to have a limited lifespan after I introduce her to the joys of the Sonos controller--I've already ripped the entire cd collection to our music library. But for now, this is the path I'm on.)PS: Checking the Sonos site, they don't seem to advertise the Connect any longer. It's still for sale elsewhere though. Would that even be compatible with the new Beam/One I have?
Hello,I would like to upgrade from Sonos One to Home Cinema system using my eligibility for 30% discount. My question is whether I’ll be able to use my old Sonos One after the change os it will be deactivated by Sonos. Thank youJavier
Just back from iKEA to buy a bookshelf speaker for my garage, but they had run ouf of the black I wanted. When I asked when the speakers would be back in stock I was told that a new bookshelf and lamp are due for delivery in January or February 2022.I can find leaked details about the lamps design change, which I think looks good. However, I can find no details at all about the changes to the bookshelf speaker.Does anyone have any info on the new speaker?
HiI’m considering switching away from a Squeezebox infrastructure to Sonos. I’ve found some answers contained within this site and FAQ style help pages. But one question remains…Can I turn off an alarm from the speaker itself? I don’t mind setting up alarms from the app but we don’t keep phones in the bedrooms and therefore would like the ability to switch off and/or snooze and alarm from physical buttons on a speaker. In addition, is it then possible to switch to random play of my Windows music library?Lastly, I don’t use voice services in the house, so that’s not a solution for me I’m afraid.
I understand the Port is best suited to have an amplified input (such as a stereo receiver) connected to it and the Amp is best suited for a non-amplified input (such as a turntable or speakers) connected to it.My question is, can a stereo receiver still be connected to the Amp? If so, are there any negative impacts?Thank you.
Hi there.I’m thinking of investing in a Sub G3 to go with my Amp and a really decent little pair of passive speakers, but it’s quite an expensive upgrade. As I use the system a lot it might be justified, provided that the output to the passive speakers is high-passed. This would enable not only bass extension, but allow the stand-mounted passive speakers to reproduce just the mids and treble and to benefit from a less bassy input signal and hopefully even better, sweeter clarity.I know that the Sub controller can set various crossover frequencies such that the Sub can be used with say, large floorstanding speakers and to reproduce frequencies below 60Hz, or with smaller ‘bookshelf’/stand-mount speakers where a crossover of perhaps 80-100Hz might be more appropriate (so the sub kicks in below that). ...But is the output from the Amp to the passive speakers then high-passed accordingly - which the word crossover implies (which is what I want) - or is it full-range to the speakers (albei
HelloI’m thinking of upgrading my playbar to an Arc. I currently have two Play:1 speakers as a surround pair. Will these work with Arc in Dolby Atmos or do I need to upgrade those as well to One SL or Ones?
Looking to get a new 65”TV , What brand works best with Sonos ? Some people have reported eARC problems with Sony X90J and that was the TV I was about to get . Another model I was looking at was the Hisense U8G but several people reported the same problems . I also looked at the Samsung Q80A and there don’t seem to be any eARC problems with this model . Any thoughts or recommendations ?
HiConsidering getting turntables. Can i connect to pro-ject t1 2 sonos five (stereo) or do you need a sonos amp or port?
Hi there, Is it ok to fix the Sonos Beam Gen 2 to the ceiling ?The height of the ceiling is 2,5m (standard).Another question about the sonos beam gen 2: would it work with the IKEA sonos symfonisk ?

However it will not allow me enter the Sonos 1 app. Just shows a black screen with text telling meto use the Sonos 2. Is there a way around this screen I was using my speakers yesterday with out issue.
Hello.Fairly new to Sonos, have a Pay 5 & 1 currently. Moved to a new house, medium sized living/kitchen entertaining area. I’m looking for a decent set up for streaming and line-in via turntable. My original thought is x2 Play 5sx1 Play 1 in the kitchen area. Not sure if this set up would be much enhanced with a subwoofer? Or if x4 Sonos 5s is a better way to go? or both. I’m moving Sonos 5s to stands to reduce any vibrations, especially when playing from turntable. I’m essentially an idiot Musically/Sonically/Generally, but I like loud and like to think I can tell the difference in quality set ups. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thank you, WA
Having a new house build with a huge Great Room that is approx 24-36 in size.I’m buying the Sonos ARC and Sub, but then I’m really limited to in-ceiling speakers (10’ high ceilings). If I buy multiple Sonos Amps for in ceiling speakers, can I have one Amp configured for front speakers (in addition to the ARC), then then have a second Amp configured for rear/surround Speakers? concerned that just having the Arc and one set of rear in-ceiling speakers won’t be enough for such a large Great room and I need to get speaker wire installed before insulation and sheet rock gets installed in the next few weeks. ‘I’d really appreciate any and all recommendation as I’m new to Sonos for large room configurations. I’d rather lean towards more than end up with not enough speakers.
Hi, I’m using a Sonos one speaker in my study room. So far I’m happy with it. The room in my apartment is not big. I’m wondering if I want to upgrade to a better sound experience, should I get one more Sonos one speaker to form a pair (for the stereo separation), or switch to a Sonos Five instead ?I usually don’t listen to bass-heavy music, and I quite like the stereo separation of 2 speakers, but given the small size of the room, I can’t place both speakers at an optimal distance.should I opt for a Sonos five speaker instead ? I heard it produces a better midrange sound than Sonos one. Thanks.
Hello, Im looking at building a new Surround sound system for a new house and would like to go down the path on integrating two in-ceiling speakers, as well as an ARC bar, and subwoofer.I’m also wanting to integrate a turntable into the mix.I’d like to know what specific products I need, and what connects to whereIm aware for the in-built passive speakers I need the AMP, as well as wanting an ARC and SUB, how do these connect to each other for seamless use? Thanks for any help!Alex

Hello So I ordered a SUB GEN2 But SUBG1 is listed on the invoice. Is it normal? Will I receive the G2 product I ordered, is this some kind of mistake?Any one had the same issue?
I recently bought a home that came with an ancient audio system already built into 4 ceilings. In total the system includes an amp, a switch, cd and cassette player, 4 ceiling speakers in 4 different rooms and 2 speakers (potentially one of them is an amp but neither is working) in the same room as the audio system. See picture's of equipment below. only the switch is staying from this picture. current amp that I'm hoping to replace with sonos ampMy short term goal is to keep the in-ceiling speakers but enable streaming (I'm going to remove the cd and cassette player as neither work). This lead me to the Port vs Amp decision. Ultimately I choose amp, which just shipped, as the current amp is an enormous heat producer and felt like something I'd want to replace sooner than later. In investigating further I'm now worried the Sonos amp won't be able to power the 4 in ceiling speakers through the switch as well as the ones in the living room (which will likely need to be replaced- I was th
hi everyone looking for some advice. I am setting up a home cinema system. I have an Arc and a sub and I want to add two rear speakers.Due to the config of the room I cant add wall or free standing rear speakers only ceiling speakers (with a Sonos amp).In another part of the kitchen / diner I would like to install another 2 ceiling speakers. My questions …. 1 are the ceiling speakers a reasonable solution for my rear speakers / work well for the home cinema ?2 Can I play DAB radio through the Arc to come out of the two ceiling speakers (or does sound come out of all the speakers ?)3 Lastly can I stream music ONLY through the ceiling speakers . thankyou
Hello, Here is what I am trying to figure out as far as what to purchase.* Living room ( 25 x 20) This is the room with the LG TV and would like surround sound. Arc for that one? * Master Bedroom 1 (15 x 15) Maybe two speakers (one for the master bath) This has a TV so a Beam for that one? * Maybe one or two extra speakers to put in other places of the house. 2. The only other thing we have is our original Sonos (which we hooked up to the house's in wall speaker system). We could do away with this. 3. I would plan on putting maybe one speaker outside, yes. But we could also just have one that goes outside when we go outside in the back. Thank you a bunch in advance!!!! Brad
sorry guys, could you tell me if a connect amp with serial number 1308 00 ...... can be used with App S2? thank you
I have a stereo pair, play bar and sub in lounge that use to play tv and music through. I have an additional stereo pair I wanted to set up in another room. I got them working playing music from my app but it shut down my lounge stereo pair in the process. How do I set it up so when I want to play music in a different room or through a tv in that room it doesn’t shut off my stereo pair in the lounge please
I've read a variety of topics and haven't found one exactly answering this question so I apologize if this is an easy one or if it has been answered before. Bottom line - I'm exploring my options for connecting outdoor speakers to my current Denon AVR-X4300H (I think that's the model, not terribly important I guess). My current setup is just 3.1 (LCR and sub setup). I want to be able to play my music from either my TV, receiver, turntable connected to receiver, etc on outdoor speakers. So far what I think I've learned and is accurate:- I can purchase any old outdoor speakers and wire them to my receiver under zone 2. - one Sonos option is: outdoor architectural speakers, but that would still require wired connection to the sonor port or amp.- if I purchased one of the Sonos wireless speakers (one of waterproof portable ones), could I wirelessly connect them to a Sonos Port that's connected to my receiver? I know a highlight of this would be allowing my receiver to be brought into
