What to get

I’d like to start building a Sonos system and in time have a comprehensive multi room entertainment system. That said I’m starting with a budget and I’d like my first speakers to be useful in my 2 bedroom apartment. What would you recommend as a starter pack?

Hi,My kitchen is a T shape with the bottom/middle section configured as a “morning room” with a TV. The remaining area is supposed to have a pair of Monitor Audio CP-CT380-IDC ceiling speakers but they haven’t been fitted yet. I bought an Arc, Sub G3, Amp and a pair of One SLs for my lounge which hasn’t been finished yet and I’m sat here listening to them in my morning room. The trouble is that they’re so good, I’m thinking that there’s no point in fitting the ceiling speakers now!I’ve had the ceiling speakers (fully enclosed) running from the Amp and they’re good but still inferior to the Arc/Sub (perhaps the Sub makes a significant difference). I might hook up the sub to the same zone as the ceiling speakers for a fair comparison.I need a soundbar in my morning room anyway so does it sound crazy to use the ceiling speakers elsewhere and just go for another Arc/Sub for both TV and music?Thanks :)

Hi, Time to choose the sound solution to our new home. I would love a ceiling speaker solution.  Would be great to to get quality sound and save space. Has enough deepnes for the speakers.We would have some sound in the living room to the kitchen. ( blue area in on the floorplan)  Dont need to be loud only enjoyable when we cook or just hanging on the sofa after a work day. We dont need the system when we watching tv. ( or should i ? )Would be great some music on the terras too, what we can turn off when we are not there. Dont need to be loud , neibours wall is 10m from our terras. ( Terras is not priority )The costruction company has no knowladge about the speakers.Which sepakers you reccomend me from your shop? and player and... ? Hi there. We recently built an open-air outdoor structure next to our pool, we’re planning to mount a TV and are looking for recommendations for sound. We currently run our house on all sonos products (arc, playbars, play1 &3, subs,etc) and outdoors we have Bose landscape speakers connected via sonos connect. I was planning to purchase the outdoor architectural speakers and amp to connect to the tv for sound but was sure if that was the best option. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

If my 2013 playbar is not compatible with the V3 sub which version is compatible with the S1 app/playbar? Is my only option to buy used sub?

I’m wondering if pairing a Sonos beam with my pair o Play one speakers is a good idea to enhance the sound of my music only setup 

I am trying to figure out the simplest setup to play my turntable on my two One SL and Beam Sonos speakers. I have a receiver but would like to avoid using it if possible.Can I directly connect my turntable to a phono preamp, and then connect the preamp right to the Sonos Amp (avoiding need for receiver)? If doing this, could all 3 speakers play the sound at once?Or is there a better way/better product than the Sonos Amp?Thank you!

I'm thinking about setting up a Sonos system in my master bedroom to drown out traffic noise. The idea would be to connect a streaming device via Bluetooth and play loud but peacefull sounds, like rainstorms, waterfalls, etc. I do this already with a small sound machine and it works ok but would really like to totally surround the bed and have flexibity in what I play.I am assuming that I don't really need any bass for this and wondering what type of Sonos system would work and how many speakers/ what equipment I would need. Note there is no TV in the room.

I have an old TV that doesn’t pass through 5.1 sound through ARC.(Yes, time for upgrading TV, but let’s not get into that here.)I noticed that some of other brands’ soundbars have HDMI input and output, which will solve my problem.Does any of Sonos’ soundbars have HDMI input and output?I’ve done some research and it doesn’t look like they do. Hello everyone,I am the owner of a 65-inch Samsung RU8000 (2019 edition). I would like to buy a Sonos Beam (Gen 2) to experience a better audio and the Dolby Atmos experience.The soundbar will be connected through HDMI ARC.Before buying, I would like to understand:1) The compatibility between my TV and the soundbar: are they fully compatible? Will the soundbar turn on automatically when I turn o the tv? Can I control the soundbar using the same TV remote?2) What are the limitations of my TV in audio terms. For this purpose, I attach you a picture found in this forum about the audio characteristics of my TV. Could you please help me to better understand what can I get from the combination of RU8000 with Sonos Beam (Gen 2)?As far I have understood, I can get dolby atmos only from Netflix and Prime. But what will be the "experience" with other sources (for instance, for normal TV or by using a Bluray external source)? Will the soundabar work with them?Thank you very much for any help you

 Hi all,  My basement is currently under construction and I’m working on my surround sound system setup. The aesthetics of the space comes first - I don’t want speakers everywhere, which is part of the reason I’ll be going with Sonos. I’ve drafted a little plan and rendering outlining my intended layout and hope to get some feedback.  My current plan is the Beam, Sub Mini, and two Ones. The Samsung Frame TV is on a sort of bulkhead structure, and the beam would sit on the lower mantle part under it. I’d have the sub-mini off to the right of the TV in front of the built-in cabinets, then a One SL on a shelf behind the tv to the right at 40” off the floor, and another One SL sitting on the kitchenette counter in the corner. The CAD plan illustrates this better than I can write it out. There is a ceiling bulkhead behind the couch that comes down about one foot - is it possible to mount the speakers behind and up high on that, or do they have to be at ear level? Hello Sonos Community,I have a Sonos Arc soundbar and I have no intention of getting a new set of speaker.  I’m planning to get the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Turntable (Sonos edition), which has a built-in phono pre-amp.  How do I connect these two? Using Sonos Port (£399)? Or, should I just get Sonos Five (£499)?  Thank you. 

Why can't you get an Amp and a Port together in a set?

I like my music loud. (Old School)I have the Beam connected to my TV and my wireless Sonos sub connected to the beam.I have a Marantz receiver and a Sony Turntable connected to Klisch bookshelf speakers.I was thinking of adding some Sonos speakers to the system, are there any Sonos Speakers that will play well and loud? If so, I guess I’ll have to add the Port to the system to play them. I’m looking for recommendations please!!!

 I would like the TV to be the music hub.So I will connect via eARC to the soundbar (Beam), and from the soundbar to 2 play ones and perhaps a sub for music listening with better stereo separation.   Will this be a problem?

Have a amp and cd player with decks in our dining room at the moment.. but would love a way to hear this in other rooms .. and replace the current alexa speakers ..  Is it possible to plug something in to my amp that will let me broadcast to a Sonos speaker? Sorry if this is non technical and clumsily written 

Hi there, I’m trying to figure out the best setup for my new home audio set up. I have13 Bestbuy Sonance ceiling speakers (4,5 zones). Most zones have 2 pairs. Some have 3. Sonos arc sb below TV.  Will buy the Sonos sub behind the TV 2 of the ceiling speakers are in the tv room but they are front and back of the sofa  4 other ceiling speakers in the same zone in the kitchen open space to the living room Considering if I need the Sonos Ones for the TV All speakers wires, TV HDMI (arc) cables are ran in a media room.what do you guys recommend for the amplifier setup where I cancontrol all zone or each zone with Apple music independently Use the ceiling speakers in the kitchen + living room zone with the arc and sub for the best TV audio experience. Easy to control with Siri, Alexa etcI’m pretty noob in home audio. From my early research, seems like getting a Sonos amp per zone should work for what I want? Hi, keep seeing all the deals for 20% off subs etc… sadly I cannot partake- my entire system (6 plus units) is Gen 1 so a pointless purchase as don’t want to run on two separate systems… frustrated Sonos owner as I want one but can’t afford the system upgrade… any ideas? EBay for older model and take my chances?

I'm looking to buy a Sonos soundbar and speakers for my TV and I'm looking for some advice as my living room TV setup is asymmetrical and I don't have much room for surround speakers. "I have a Sonos ‘Bridge’ which is connected to 4 speakers in the room. I also have two Sonos one Gen 1 . I am not able to update the Sonos app Which ones of the items I have mentioned should I replace ?” 

I am looking for a little help on how I would go about setting up a system before I pull the trigger and buy a bunch of stuff. I currently have and use a Symfonisk Lamp with my Apple TV which also has 2 HomePod Minis paired in stereo. I typically use this setup for everything except audio with my PS4 and standard cable box as my TV doesn’t have ARC capabilities.I recently ordered a new TV (Samsung Neo 8K) and am thinking of picking up a set with the Beam and two One SL (possibly a sub, although I live in a townhouse so I’m worried the bass would annoy people). I also have a nice Philips hue setup with Sync Box.It looks like I can run the Beam with eArc, but am curious how I’d connect everything to get ALL sound played through the Sonos setup.  Currently, the Philips sync box acts as a “hub” as I connect everything there and have one HDMI connection to the TV.  Would I be running that connection to a non eARC input on my TV and then use the eARC connection TO the Beam? Also, I use Siri
