What to get

Hi guys. I have a Playbar sub and 2 x play 1 in lounge. And 2 x play 1 in kitchen. Since having all this installed and setup I have noticed my WIFI is a lot slower is this because of the Sonos and if so is it worth getting a Sonos boost to help resolve the issue Thanks in advace

So far I only own the Sonos One. I plan on buying a soundbar, but not sure if I should get the playbar, or the new beam. If I get the beam, I will eventually add two play 1's as rears I think. If i get the playbar, I plan on just having that. This will be for my family room, which is approx 250 square feet. SO my question is which would sound better for both the tv and music? the beam with the play 1 rears, or the playbar? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have ordered the new Play 5, my first Sonos speaker. I plan to use it primarily for music. I will eventually buy another Play 5 for a different floor of my house. My understanding from reviews that I have read is that there was a decent benefit to pairing the old Play 5 with the Sub. I would like to hear what the Community thinks about getting the Sub with the new Play 5. I looked at about 10 online review of the new Play 5 and only one mentioned the Sub and actually said the new Play 5 was good enough that the Sub wasn't required anymore. I know that no one here has had a chance to test it themselves, but I would still be interested in thoughts on the subject. Thank you.

Currenlty I we have a set-up of two Sonos 5, one sones 3 and four sonos 1 in a house of around 180 square meters. Our set-up is connected to our router via a bridge. We are experiencing holes in the streaming and wondering if the system is overloaded. It is espcially when we are playing on all the speakers at the same time. Would the stream quality change significantly if we replaced the bridge with a boost?

Hello Sonosers! I have sonos all over my house and happy with it. However in my kitchen I have only one S3 mounted high on the wall. It does not cut it over the fans and general kitchen noises. So I wonder, get one more S3 and pair them or get two sonos1 and pair those. I am probably wrong but I am under the impression that the S1 has more "punch" than the S3? Thanks!

HI! Since I will be using Beam with my projector (via optical adapter) I need to buy longer HDMI cable (12m/40ft). Does it matter what kind of HDMI I will buy? Would "standard speed HDMI with ethernet" be OK?

Hi everyone. What are the cons by getting two "One" as stereo set instead of a "One" and a "Play1" as a stereo set? I think there is some money to save and I suppose that you only can use voice control with one of them? 🙂

Just moved into a new home and the previous owner has in wall wired speakers. 2 upstairs, 2 downstairs and 2 outside for total of 6 speakers. Each has their own volume control knobs in wall outlet. I would like to upgrade my TV speakers to SONOS and I am wondering if I can purchase the SONOS connect to connect the new upgraded speakers with the existing wired speakers in the wall. Is this possible?

I am in the midst of planning to put an audio system for my backyard and I got some estimates from audio companies, which turned out to be a big waste of time. So now I decided to see if I can install a decent system for the setup I have and plan to expand. I recently did my backyard with a inground pool with a 3200 square foot patio. If facing the pool from my back patio door, there is a current cut out that is the eating area and eventually will be the bbq/kitchen area. Next to that area is a circular section that has the firepit. To the left of the patio door is a sitting area and next to that is my raised sundeck with the waterfall next to it. I currently have a 3/4 inch conduit pipe running from the basement to the electrical sub panel near the pool pump. I have access in the basement that I can also drill through the foundation to gain access to the backyard. I’m not looking to blow my neighbors but I want a system that I can hear with no issues from the pool area. I don’

I have 2 play5s as stereo sound. The bass seems very good. Would I gain any improved fidelity by adding a subwoofer to the system? Like I said the bass seems very fine without a subwoofer. Thank you.

Hi all i recently purchased a play 1 as the bose sound touch did not do what i wanted it to...The problem i am having (maybe i'm doing this completely wrong) is i have all my music on a external hard drive the play 1 recognises the hard drive but will not play all of the music that is on it, it shows the artist in search but tells me there is nothing to play...i was also wondering if i buy an adaptor could i plug the hard drive driectly into router would it then be recognised... any ideas. thanks in advance

I have a Onkyo TX-NR515 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver and have the Bose 151® SE environmental speakers on my deck. I currently am using the receiver to power the surround sound speakers in the living room and am using zone 2 for the outdoor speakers. Without going into detail, using the current setup is a little clunky and doesn't always work so I was hoping to use the sonos ecosystem for the outdoor speakers (and for future expansion). For my immediate purposes, can I use an Connect for this purpose or do I need the Connect AMP? I'm struggling to understand if I can leave the outdoor speakers plugged into zone 2 and route it thru the connect. Thanks

I have 3 play 3's. I use 2 as surround speakers and the other stand alone. I'm thinking about a 4th to make a stereo pair. I have paired 3's in the past and they sound very good together. I also have a single Sonos One. I'm trying to decide whether to get another One or Play 3 to make a stereo pair. Is there any reason I shouldn't buy another Play 3 because it is an "older" product in the Sonos offering? I don't really care about Alexa/Google. Thoughts?

So my bedroom is a pretty typical setup. ~300 sqft. Bed and two nightstands on one wall, a dresser on the other. Above the dresser is a tv mounted on the wall. The tv is rarely used. When it is, it's either firetv or xbox. A pair of play:1s sit on the nightstand. The vast majority of the time, I'm using the play:1s for music. I can't decide between two options. Option 1: Add Beam + Sub. So get full 5.1 in that room with minimal changes. Add a wall mount for the Beam. Get all the Beam features with the TV. Cost before tax...$1,060. ( Option 2: Get a pair of Play:5s, repurpose the 1s. Perhaps better for music, but no link to the tv or alexa functionality. Will need to get a pair of the floor stands. Cost before tax...$1,190. I can't decide. A part of me says that option 1 will be plenty good enough for music, considering the addition of the sub. I also feel that option 1 will look better in the room, not crazy about floor stands ( or mounting play:5s). Play:

Hi, I am renovating the living room and I want to install a Sonos system for music only. I checked the forum and found a lot of similar question but I didn't found one considering a pair of P5 vs four P1 for music only. The room is about 75 sqft (25 meter square). I am hesistating between installing a pair of Play 5 on the wall or to have a set of four Play 1 on each wall. Do you guys have any recommandations for the best audio experience ? (if relevant: the wall on the top and on the right are actually windows and the one at the bottom give access to the hall way and the kitchen) Thanks for your help!

Hello, I'm very interested in the new Sonos Beam as I've read some excellent reviews. My room is roughly 5 metres (16 feet) square. Obviously, we sit reasonable close to our 47" TV. Will the Beam have enough audio power to be effective? I know this is a very new product but Sonos doesn't appear to provide power figures. Can anyone help? Many thanks!

Which will suite me better?

I am looking at getting surround sound for my new kitchen diner. I have a Samsung UE55F8000STXXU TV which has an ARC HDMI port so should support Alexa from the Sonos Beam....correct? Next question is what would I put with it? I am resigned to buy-in the Beam and Sub-woofer but I already own a Play:1, Play:5 and two Sonos Ones. Since the Beam has Alexa built in, I assume that using the two Sonos Ones is a waste of them? Can I use the Play:1 and Play:5 together? If not, guess I just need another Play:1? Any help/guidance appreciated!!

Although Beam not out, wondering which set up might be better? I gather the Beam is a central speaker, and so adding 2 x play 1's brings it up to same price as playbar. Which might be the better option?

I am on the brink of entering the Sonos world. Looking to start with a couple Sonos Ones but would also like to Sonos-ify my existing 5.1 receiver which my TV outputs sound to via optical cable. I have considered replacing my existing 5.1 receiver and speakers with Sonos alternatives but it seems like an expensive option. So my current plan is to get a Sonos Connect and have both that and the TV outputting to the Sony 5.1 receiver via optical cables. I'm hoping to use some kind of mixing/auto-switching optical Y connector to achieve this. My primary aim is to be able to play from the same Sonos sources throughout the house. I don't want to play TV stuff throughout the house. Does this sound like a sensible plan? I have read quite a lot in forums, but still am not entirely sure. Also, the Connect seems to be about 6 years old now. Might there be a new version around the corner? Cheers

Hello! I am wanting to buy a projector for kids outdoor movie nights, and as such do not want to spend a lot on it. I am currently considering the Epson EB-W42. It only has a 2W speaker, so I am wanting to hook it up to my Sonos system (Playbar). The projector does not have any other audio outputs. I also have an Apple TV (2nd generation), which has an optical audio port. If I connect the Apple TV to the projector using HDMI, and then connect the Apple TV to my Sonos Playbar using the optical ports - will that work? Many thanks for your advice! : )

Id really appreciate your help. Ive been weighing up the sonos vs a bose. I think my heart is now set on sonos. However i dont know which to get? I have a dot so can connect to the old play(although reviews of the integration arent too good and apparently you cant initiate playback through your dot, only through the sonos app). Alternatively i can get the new system but it has quite a few negative reviews and if i cant initiate playback apart from in the sonos app id be a bit put out. My idea is,as my house is quite small, have my dot upstairs and the sonos at the bottom of the stairs. As i often listen to music whilst cleaning i engisaged telling my dot to play xx on my sonos whilst sorting my stuff . The other alternative is 2 sonos /sonos alexas, one upstairs and downstairs. Really appreciate help! I only play music and radio, i dont care about flash briefing etc through the sonos. Experiences and advice welcome!!;)

My bridge seems to have died, no lights anywhere on it, I can’t find a suitable adapter to try to rule that out, I may order one but if that doesn’t work can I order a boost instead of it? I have all original Sonos speakers, 2x play 1’s, 2x play 3’s, 2x play 5’s and a Sub. Thanks in advance, Jason.

Hi guys, in a few weeks we will be moving to our new built apartment. In the living room and open kitchen the electrician has built in 2 wall sockets high in the corner of the two connecting rooms in order to have 2 Sonos One speakers on wall mounts. As we already have a Sonos Play 5 (1st gen) I would like to pair the 2 Sonos One speakers (not yet bought) to the Play 5 speaker. Will this work? And if so, is the combined speakerset strong enough to cover both rooms? (I also have a Sonos Play 3 but ideally I am gonna use this one in another room).
