Voice control and smart home

When I ask Google Home ‘Ok, Google Play Music’ it plays music I like (probably my supermix)When I ask Sonos Arc ‘Ok, Google Play Music’ it plays music I have never heard.Also I can't like/dislike currently playing song using voice ‘Ok, Google Like/Dislike/Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down’I’m using YouTube Music service

I’ve spent hours on this now.I have an alexa-enabled sonos one and from there I can command different rooms (I have a One in the kitchen, a One in a kid’s room, a Play3 in the dining room, Play5+sub in living room and a Play1 in bedroom) to play music, but once I ask for a song to be played everywhere - and it indeed does play everywhere - I cannot get Alexa to go back to controlling just one room (even though it replies to say it is). The only way around it is to open the sonos controllers and ungroup the speakers. In fact, I think once there has been any grouping (lets say I grouped two rooms in the controller) I cannot get control over one of those rooms on a individual basis again.Any advice would be very gratefully received.ThanksJededit: It seems I can break grouping as long I stop the music playing in that group and then go to command one of the speakers i.e. I cannot split the group up when it is playing music.edit: the above edit seems unreliable fix. Moved into a new house and had enough of the budget left to buy myself a Sonos arc. Fantastic. Wanted one since they were announced. Coupled with the fact Spotify were giving out free Google home minis and myself and my partner managed to get a hold of two of them on the back of two accounts, we had the makings of a pretty cool home set-up. Using the Google home mini is a dream. Commands are understood and carried out (albiet with a little too much vocular waffle for my taste but whatever) and the range of functionality is impressive.  Throw the arc into the mix and oh my lord. What a worthless peice of shite the assistant becomes. I have more luck getting my 1 year old son to follow my requests. Considering the price of Sonos products (and don't get me wrong in terms of sound quality it's worth every penny). The lack of support for Google assistant is shocking especially as you can pay extra for the Sonos one specifically for voice commands. Not having any Google products you could be

I have a problem with Alexa enabled Sonos speakers: Beam and 1s. It used to work but now if I say Alexa, play xxx, the speaker says playing xxx but doesn't. I can play the same things from the Sonos app. I don't even know whether the problem is with Sonos or Alexa!

Hi, I need some help, or maybe some clarification.  I’ll explain what I’d like to do or trying to do and hopefully someone more knowledgeable can tell me how to achieve what i’m after or whether it’s even possible.  In 2020 with the year we’ve had I believe anything is possible, even cross-brand multi-room :) I have purchased two Sonos One speakers for the house, already in the house I have the latest Amazon Echo Plus and Echo Spot.  Let’s forget about the Echo Spot, that’s lame.  What I would like to do is have the two Sonos One’s and the Echo in one multi-room playing Spotify all at the same time.  I’ve tried in the Amazon App and i’ve tried in the Sonos App and I can’t figure out how to do it.  I can create a group of Echo’s and a seperate group of Sonos One’s but not together.  Surely this is possible to do?  Secondly to this, I would also like to know if it is possible to have the two Sonos One’s and the speakers connected to my iMac in one multi-room group?  Again i’ve tried thro

The timer volume on my Sonos One appears only to be linked to the Sonos music volume and is set way too quiet. I’ve just bought it to replace an Amazon Echo in the kitchen and use the timer all the time. Is there a way to adjust it to a fixed loud volume?

Suddenly, Hey Google no longer respond to the command “increase volume”/ “decrease volume”. It responds to all other commands but for the last 1-2 weeks it has not responded to the volume control.

I cannot get google assistant to play a second song as it thinks that the speaker is unavailable.

Hey Sonos Community.  First post. I’m sorry if it’s a duplicate. Tried to search first.  For a while now I noticed that the “Group Non-Airplay Products” setting is lacking reliability. Since iOS 14.2 and the new AirPlay interface on iOS devices it seems completely broken: music playback initiated via iOS device via AirPlay 2 does not integrate my non-AirPlay Sonos speakers (a play:1 and a play:3) even though I have a host of devices that support AirPlay 2 (a Play One, and two sets of the IKEA speakers) and the setting is definitely set to “group non-AirPlay products” am I doing something wrong? Am I misunderstanding what this feature does? Ideally I’d like to completely ignore the Sonos app, but it’s not possible currently. 

SummaryI currently give two commands through my Sonos One to alexafirst one is "Alexa turn on plug stereo" which activates a smart plug and turns on the electricity to my stereo and Sonos connectThe second is " Alexa play mozart on stereo" at which the Sonos/Alexa app turns on some Mozart.I would like to have just one command "Alexa, play Mozart" which would combine the above two and turn on the electricity and then play the music.Is this doable, and , if so, what are the command?thanks

HiI have an Echo Dot 3rd Gen and Sonos Speaker in most rooms and I have Alexa groups setup to use Sonos as the default speaker.I have used this with no problems for months with Spotify, Audible and Stitcher all playing by default through Sonos when started via voice control from the Echo Dot.Now, as of a few days ago, only Spotify plays through the default speaker - Audible and Stitcher play on the Echo Dot. If I specifically ask Alexa to play Audible and Stitcher on a Sonos speaker, they do.I have re-authorised Spotify, Audible and Stitcher in the Sonos App.Has anyone else experienced this?Any suggestions?ThanksTim

i have alexa added to my sonas arc can i have google assistant added to it at the same time ? 

I have a Sonos One in most rooms and Beam+Sub in the living room.Is it possible to have reminders sound on nominated or all speakers?If I set a reminder at 10 in the morning for 6 in the evening, who knows which room I'll be in at the time? However, the reminder only seems to play on the speaker where the reminder was set.

I have used the MyPod app skill for Alexa for years, and it’s been great for playing my personal music playlists off of Google Drive. I recently got a Beam and when I try to play through it using the Alexa MyPod skill, it plays one song then keeps repeating the same song. It won’t advance to the next unless I say “next”. Then it will play a different song over and over. Anyone else had this issue who uses MyPod, and got it resolved? The developer seems to think it’s a Sonos/Alexa integration issue.

So I just bought a play bar yesterday and have ordered the Sonos one back speakers. my question is I already have quite a few Alexa echo devices throughout my house. when I receive my new speakers will I be able to play them with my other Alexa devices? so can I play the same music at the same time?

Precisamente lo compre para poder ir integrando el sonido de casa y manejarlo por voz. Espero exista una solución o se pueda dar acceso al skill en Colombia muy pronto .

Just subscribed to Apple Music Family.  Daughter has a Play 1 in her room, and an Echo Dot. She has added her Apple Music profile to our Sonos account. But Alexa won’t play any of her playlists, it just picks something it things will suffice. It will play my playlists on her Sonos just fine, but not her playlists. Not sure what to do?

I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong but I want to play music on all my devices simultaneously.  I have the following:(1) Amazon Show(1) Amazon Echo(2) Sonos Play:1(2) Sonos One (Gen2) Can someone please help? 

I Had the two ones in my living room set up as a stereo pair with alexa and that was working fine with alexa. Today I received my Arc and Sub. Its working fine as far as I can tell, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get alexa onto the Arc. Every time I try to add voice assistant in the app, i get to the alexa getting started button. When I press it, i get “There was a problem adding Alexa”. I went through the trouble of unpairing the surrounds, figuring their registration could have been causing a problem. No luck.On an semi-related note, I have three ones upstairs. I have an Alexa group called “Upstairs” with all three set as preferred speakers. When I tell Alexa to play music upstairs, only one speaker will play.

Hi,   I’m new to posting so please be patient.  ta.  We have an extensive Sonos investment, with the iTunes library on a NAS to play whatever we want around the house.  We are also starting to experiment with home automation.  We have a Sonos One, specifically for a bathroom, the idea being that we can select music, change volume, etc, without needing a screen.  We discovered that the only way to get local music to play was to install Plex on the NAS, so now we can say “Alexa, tell plex to play Witness by Katy Perry”, which works mostly….  However, the Echo we are trying doesn’t behave the same.  “Alexa, tell plex to play Katy Perry” results in the Echo playing the music.  A small speaker isn’t the same as Sonos.  This is why we have Sonos.  “Alexa, play Katy Perry in the Master Bedroom” results in the iHeart Radio service playing the Katy Perry “station”, on the correct Sonos speaker.  So.  Several years ago this was published on the community.“Your Amazon Alexa devices are listening

I have had various Sonos Ones for some time. All of a sudden Alexa is no longer connecting to either Spotify or TuneIn. You give the instruction, Alexa confirms the request…….but then silence. I have changed voice assistants to Google.... same result. I have removed both accounts and re-set….same result.  I have called Sonos and they say responsibility lies with Amazon. I have called Amazon and they say responsibility lies with Sonos. Given that I have the same issue with Google Assistant, I suspect this is something to do with Sonos. PLEASE HELP - I JUST WANT TO ASK ALEXA TO PLAY SOME MICHAEL BUBLE!

I have been unable to change the timer tones under settings in my sonos one device. I can change it to a different tone but it never changes it

Hi, When i ask Alexa to start music, i said “Alexa, Music”, she said “music playback by deezer”But nothing else...what is the pb ? My Deezer account is connected, i can play music threw the app Sonos….Thank’s for your help

Since we moved to a new apartment we had to reinstall our sonos products, and now we always have to say our commands twice before sonos starts music. What is the problem? Google assistant hears our first call and answers that it should turn on music, but then nothing starts. If we ask the same thing again it works. But since it is the same every time, there must be something wrong with settings or something like that? Anyone who knows?

Any help on this would be appreciated.My system is all linked & I am able to use my Amazon Echo Dot/Sonos Move to start music playing via Spotify.However this only seems to work on one speaker at a time?I have Spotify premium and I am able to play from both speakers when using the Sonos app. It would be great to be able to use Alexa to control both.Error message displayed below:
