Voice control and smart home

I’m new to any kind of smart speaker and have been given the Era 100 for my birthday. I have successfully set the speaker up using the app on my iPhone, and have added my Spotify and BBC Sounds accounts. I am having a problem with voice command: Hey Sonos responds to Spotify but not BBC Sounds. The app shows that my BBC account has been added to content and the speaker will play only live stations via the app, but Hey Sonos either tells me it can’t find the content, or plays Nigerian BBC Haus (!) or else some random music. Also, Sonos won’t tell me the weather forecast even though my iPhone shows my location settings correctly. Please can anyone suggest a fix? It’s very frustrating and disappointing! Thanks

Hi,I have a Sonos Arc which I purchased in June 2024. I recently setup Alexa as my voice assistant and have had issues with it randomly disconnecting. The disconnection happens when I’m watching tv and when I’m not.  I came across some threads in the Sonos community which had the same issues and I tried all the diagnostics.  I ended up calling Sonos customer service and they also ran diagnostics with me and I am still having the same issue. The options I got were either I send my Arc in and have the technical team diagnose the problem and if no resolution is found they would send me a new one. The other option i was given was to purchase a new Sonos Arc Ultra.  This could be a three week long process and I would not have a sound bar to my disposal. Which is not a big issue but when you spend almost a thousand dollars on a sound bar you would want to use it.  The tech then asked me to disable my touch controls. Hi,I am programming an Extron control processor with touch screen in order to control my Sonos Connect. Most of the functions are easy to implement, but I would like to learn more about queues, next in queue and how to make that visible on the touch screen.I am using Extron IPCP Pro250 processor with Sono_42_3829_v1_1_2 driver obtained from the Extron Device Driver Library. Thanks JJ

I’ve got a Roam and a play 3. They group and work perfectly unless I add Alexa to the Roam. That stops them being able to be grouped. Removing Alexa means they can group again. Is this a thing anyone else has happen? Is there a solution so I can use Alexa? Thanks. ☺️

I have a Sonos Beam that I am trying to get working with GA. Have followed all the instructions added GA within the Sonos app. Gone into GA and checked names, set default speaker etc.Beam/GA recognise voice commands as it comes back and tells what it is going to do. Then it comes back and says it looks like Sonos isn’t available. Doesn’t mentioned the name of the speaker I have told it to play through. Have tried renaming the room and speakers within Sonos App and GA. Always the same Sonos not available.At the moment I only have Sonos speakers in one room. A Beam and two One SLs. So wouldn’t have thought much scope for confusion as to where it was supposed to be playing.any suggestions. Family is so used to using GA to stream audio in other devices I would like this to work.

How can I reduce the volume of the confirmation messages from SONOS when using voice command or switch off these confirmations completely? This is completely unacceptable or unusable as it is now.

How do I set up Amazon voice on the ray speaker?

I contacted Sonos a couple of weeks ago and they said they had a work around for this issue.  This issue was not been resolved. I have had techicians out to deal with my Control4 and they could not figure it out why it is not working having done what Sonos told them to do.Any one else still having this issue?  Resolutions?  I have been told to remove Sonos from Control 4 but this would also eliminate Sportify.

So today I ran into an odd issue with both my Move and Roam, when I go Hey google play XXXX on Pandora. It will respond playing XXXX on Pandora, then silence. Same thing happens when I say play XXXX on YouTube music. It will response playing XXXX on YouTube music and then silence.If I go into the app on my phone and select what to play, it will start playing on the speaker.Losing the ability to have music play via voice command just started in the last day or so. When asking the google assistant about weather and such, it will respond as expected. It seems to be just with playing music currently.I’ve tried rebooting the devices, no change. I removed google assistant from the Move and no difference. I’m not sure if this is stemming from a larger issue I’m having with Sonos and google assistant where when Pandora is playing I can’t use voice commands to like a song, again I need to go into the app to do this.

When I ask Alexa to play music (I stream with Apple Music), it will only play one song.  For example, if I ask to play classic rock, one song will play but not continue.  If I ask it to play music by one artist, it will start and play one song, but nothing more.  Anyone know how to fix this?

Hi, I have purchased a Roam today which is supposed to support Google Assistant. It is the Roam, not the Roam 2, and even has the ok Google branding on the box. When I go into the Roam settings, under voice assistant, it only has 2 options, Sonos Voice Control and Alexa. The instructions say it should show me Google Assistant as well. Am I missing a step somewhere? Thanks

I’ve been using Sonos/Alexa for years without issue but it is now broken. I cannot set Sonos speakers as the speakers for a group/room in the Alexa app. The error message is Device not compatibleThis device is not compatible with the current selected devices.This particular Sonos device is a Sonos Amp and was connected fine before. I get the same error for other Alexa/Sonos rooms. I have tried disabling/reenabling the Sonos skill in Alexa. Also added/removed Alexa integration from within Sonos. How to fix? Thanks.   

Can someone tell me what are the possibilities when you integrate Sonos speakers in the Smartthings app. Is it more than volume? Can you choose music, playlists, Spotify?

No Voice Control working at Brazil anymore since app update. ALexa Skill not available at Brazilian Alexa Store anymore. Amazon has told me is a Sonos Issue. I can not use even Sonos Voice Control. Hours of chating and calling to Sonos.  

I have a Sonos one and a routine that plays music for 2 hours. At the end of 2 hours it just keeps playing. I have tried stop audio in  device settings but that does not work

Why can Alexa toggle night mode on but not off?Im trying to set up a scheduled routine so it till come on at 10pm and toggle off at 9am for my wife. Very frustrating given this is a premium product .

Is there a simple, straightforward guide to adding Sonos to the HomeKit to automate playing music when you walk in the door? I’ve looked at the other topics and can’t find what I’m looking for. Each issue seems to be different. I have been using Alexa simply because I used to have an echo in each room when they first came out, before Sonos voice control. BF has convinced me to switch to HomeKit since we are apple for everything else.We set up an automation for coming home and Hue lights worked perfectly, but the Sonos have not been reliably turning on. I did get some music in the living room one day, but can’t get any others to do anything. Is there something in the Sonos app I need to update first? I see the speakers in HomeKit. I saw something about a Homebridge when I did a search online, but didn’t see anyone mention that here. 

Hi,I have 2 sonos amps which are connected via ethernet to my router. They work fine. I downloaded the Alexa skill but it cant find Amp 1 or Amp 2.It does however find Amp 1 TV and amp 2 TV - not sure exactly what they are? I have disabled wifi on the amps as they are connected to my router via ethernet. Any ideas?ThanksAkhil

Alexa voice control disconnects from Sonos 1 and Beam on an almost daily basis. I have tried reconnecting from the app, resetting each speaker, changing names on Alexa app, but it still keeps happening. I have read there is a bug. Is there an update to stop this happening? Could it be that I have 4g internet connection which might not have constant IP address? 

Anyone else having problems getting Alexa to connect to Sonos arc. Seems to be a recent issue, Sonos app when going to add voice assistants just goes to a help page. Alexa app says arc is offline when it’s not. Can’t work out how to re authorise account as I have done previously 

How do I enable Google Voice Control on the ARC Ultra? If it's a regional issue, how can I change the region settings to make it work?

This seems to be a recurring issue - Alexa refuses to stream music from any Music source (Global Player/BBC Sounds/Apple Music). When prompted, Alexa tries to play from either Global Player (Heart or RadioX), and BBC Sounds (Radio 1 etc). It often plays an intro, or says its playing from the above services, but then goes silent. This is on all of my Sonos devices that have Alexa, not just one device. Additionally, here are the steps taken so far:Remove & Reinstall BBC Sounds Skill from Alexa App Remove & Reinstall Global Player Skill from Alexa App Remove & Reinstall Apple Music Skill from Alexa App Re-sign into both BBC Sounds & Global Player using the newly installed Skills in the Alexa App. Remove and re-link accounts in the above from the Music Sources section of Sonos. Ensure all Sonos devices are up to date.  Reboot respective Sonos Device Asking Alexa on my weather responds with the correct weather for my location, so its not having issues getting to the Internet

Hi all, I have a google assistant set up on my system and it looks like I can broadcast from my Move and Roam but I can’t here the broadcasts from them. I’ve tried setting up the ‘default music speaker’ under the sonos app which then loads up the google assistant app.  But it doesn’t work.Is there something I’ve missed?

Hello folks,I got an Era 300 from Amazon UK and an Era 100 from Amazon EU. Both shows “Voice Assistant Off” in my system. My Sonos account was registered to UK. How can I turn on the voice control feature?Many thanks!
