Random music playing from Sonos

Lately, my Sonos has been randomly playing music. On way day it literally was playing music over a documentary I was watching which confounded me to the max. One day I come home from work to my house which had been empty all day and the music is on full blast.  I tell Alexa the stop the music and it does only to resume a few hours later.  I read this was a problem 7 years ago but no solution was ever provided. Anything new do October 2025? I don’t have any music apps connected so what’s next?

Call Sonos and have them see what is starting your music playing.

If you can submit a diagnostic when something starts playing it could help.

For what it’s worth, all resolved cases of this have been set alarms, either on Sonos or ‘home control’ processes, or Spotify’s Connect software, none have been Sonos itself.

Another possibility is your voice enabled device(s) is hearing a wake command. Check your Alexa history in the Alexa App.
