Voice control and smart home

Hello folks,I got an Era 300 from Amazon UK and an Era 100 from Amazon EU. Both shows “Voice Assistant Off” in my system. My Sonos account was registered to UK. How can I turn on the voice control feature?Many thanks!

I can't link my Sonos to alexa 

Alexa wont connect to .amazon on sonos..wasted the day ininstalling and reinstalling apps and sonoscleft me high and dry saying the fault lay with amazon.. still doesnt work.. come on Sonos sort this

Hello,I installed a new Sonos beam today but I found a very narrow bug.After installed the Sonos voice control on the Beam 2, and the Radio France service, I find it impossible to launch the “France Bleu Pays de Savoie” live service using Sonos voice control (SVC). Other channels work (France inter, Franceinfo...) and even the other local France Bleu channels work (FB Armorique, FB Alsace...). Just the only particular FB channel I need, FB Pays de Savoie, doesn’t work.SVC acknowledge the command, says “okay” or something but then I have the error chime and a message that this content cannot be found.On a side note, FB Pays de Savoie can be launched via the mobile app normally. But it refuses to be added to Sonos favorites.

As the caption reads, I have an issue with the Google assistant making the volume go to the max setting despite what I tell it. For example: if I say “Hey Google set the volume to 9%” the volume will be set to 100 and then I have to scramble for a remote so I can lower the volume quickly.  Despite the volume level I set the Sonos to via the Google Assistant, it’ll always set it to 100%. I’ve removed and re-added the Google Assistant and that fix only works for 1-2 days. It’s really irritating that this is going on and it’s incredibly inconvenient as well. Makes me want to throw away the entire Sonos setup I have and go with a comparable setup from Bose.  Sonos….get it together already.

Is SONOS compatible with Apple Smart Home 

Hi,I’ve noticed that the Sonos app can show when my Sonos Ace headphones are connected to my Beam soundbar. However, this connection status doesn’t seem to be exposed in the Sonos API, which would make it usable in Home Assistant or other integrations.If the app can already report features like night mode, speech enhancement, and surround state, I don’t see why the API couldn’t treat the Ace connection as a sensor. Similar to how battery devices report their battery status, the Beam could report “Ace connected” or “Ace disconnected.”This would be useful for automations, such as adjusting playback zones or sending notifications based on the headphones' status. Are there any plans to expose this data in the API, or has this feature already been considered?Thanks.

Hello Sonos CommunityI contacted Sonos again this morning to see whether the problem with voice control is now working. It is not.My issue is that I have an LTE Router via 3 Network.  My SONOS 1 (GEN 2) worked perfectly with Alexa for 2 years until the new Sonos software was launched last year.I tried everything with SONOS support back in the summer, even managing to get to 2nd level but all to no avail.Can anyone in the community shed any light on this problem please.  We used voice control all the time, it’s a pain to have to use your phone.  SONOS are supposed to working on a solution but 78 months on, no news.I wouldn’t mind using Sonos Voice Control - anything, but i believe it’s the same issue.I would love to hear any views or maybe even a workaround!Thanks :-)

J’ajoute une Roam neuve sur mon système existant, elle est bien reconnue.Lors de l’installation de l’assistant google, après m’avoir demandé d’ouvrir l’application Google Assistant, j’arrive sur un écran d’attente avec une roue qui tourne et qui me dit que ça va prendre quelques minutes, me propose de réessayer ou d’annuler.Ca n’aboutit jamais, par contre parfois, en revenant sur l’écran de gestion la Roam, l’assistant Google apparait comme installé. I am trying to get Sonos Voice Control to use a specific music service profile. I have Deezer and PocketCasts set up, each with different user profiles. This post suggests I can append the profile name and ask it to play on the profile name. For example, if I have a Deezer music service with four profiles, one of the profile nicknamed “Blue” I should be able to do something like: Play Thunderstruck on BluePlay Thunderstruck on Blue’s DeezerPlay Songs by the White Stripes on Blue’s Deezer Specifying profile names isn’t resulting in a consistent experience. Can someone share any tips on how they use Sonos with multiple music service profiles?If anyone from Sonos could comment or update the voice control reference with further details on what is being parsed that would be helpful. 

I have a persistent issue with getting Alexa to play music from Spotify. Frequently, I will ask it to play music, and it will announce, “Now playing XYZ” and then there will be silence. This exact same thing kept happening on the Alexa devices themselves (dot, spot, etc), but it can be fixed by unplugging them and plugging them back in. For the Sonos devices, I cannot figure out a method of resetting it in the same way. Uninstalling and reinstalling the Spotify skill doesn’t appear to work, neither does turning the device off and back on again. Any ideas? 

Hello, after few hours of research, I eventually came to the conclusion that google assistant is not supported today on Era100. - https://support.sonos.com/fr-be/article/set-up-the-google-assistant-with-a-voice-enabled-sonos-product this is really disapointting, I expected that feature set when buying the devices. Anyway, damage is done.I read somewhere that it is on the roadmap to support it, can you share any ETA? that would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance

I changed my wifi & reset to factory settings to get my machines to work & now I can’t use my Alexa settings. She just ignores me & stays quiet. What should I do next? 

I added Sonos voice control since Alexa no longer worked to play live / terrestrial radio stations (which is what I’ve been doing for over 6 years!). is there a way for Sonos voice assistant NOT to yell “fantastic!” or “awesome!” in response to a command? or at least turn down the volume of those responses? It’s really annoying and disappointing, once again degrading Sonos user experience. Thanks. 

How do I set up Alexa thru Sonos ERA 300?

Tengo una bocina era 300 y hace un mes Alexa funcionaba de maravilla pero estas últimas semanas Alexa no obedece a las órdenes que le doy. Since Yesterday I have lost Partielly then completely all connections to Google assistant.It stated from 1 of my Sonos One, then it extended to a Roam.... I restarted my router and all devices but no joy.It king of worked with e Roam for a minute then went south again after I reconnected a One...Removed all links to Google assistant in Sonos and Google Home.BTW, Google Home only sees a few Sonos devices, not all of them.... Odd.I have then tried to add the service back but it just never manage to do it First attempt after phone reboot takes me to home assistant config and it ends-up not finding any device.If I try again, the Google assistant never shows again, there seems to have a hidden window of it but nothing I do can make it show. I tried this on 2 different android phones, same results. I am now stuck with no assistant at all. Alexa won't activate and So is assistant just did not want to finalize the setup either..… Seriously WTF is goi g onnat SONOS. The giant  connected speaker

Hi all,Hoping someone can help. I have the sonos arc ultra, roam 2 and three of the era 300 speakers. They all set up fine, connected to wifi etc, and Alexa works fine. However, if I try to add sonos voice assist I get an error message saying that there is “still a problem adding Sonos Voice Control.” This occurs on all devices. They are all showing up as connected to the WiFi. I’d prefer to use the sonos voice control over using Alexa for privacy reasons, and it’s really frustrating me! The app was only downloaded yesterday and is definitely OS S2. I’ve tried rebooting everything, mics are on, Alexa works perfectly. Not sure where to go from here.Thanks!Charly

I just started using Sonos Voice Assistant and I’m loving the ability to group rooms by voice. I have Groups set up like ‘Upstairs’ and ‘Downstairs’ which include multiple rooms.Can Sonos Voice Assistant recognize Group names? It doesn’t appear so, but I’m hoping others might confirm.

I know it has been raised before (some years ago) and there were some good arguments against doing it. But as the market is evolving this topic probably is regaining importance again. I just found myself in the position to buy a thread border router and now had to add the first Apple homepod mini to my Sonos mix. I would have gone for a Sonos speaker, or even better would have appreciated it if I could have updated my existent Sonos system to support thread. But as the landscape is right now, I had no other choice.As most customers will probably have multiple Sonos speakers around the house, turning them into thread border routers would make sure my thread network will work immediately across the whole building. It would honestly boost the value of my Sonos system. I am not sure if an upgrade is technically possible, I have not checked all the details of thread. There seems to be a new problem that was recently introduced where music is streamed on an Amazon Echo Show instead of on Sonos speakers when Alexa is asked to play music. Because of the ducking problem which lasted 12-15 seconds for all of my 10 Sonos devices, I was advised to create multiple Alexa groups and add specific echo devices to each group along with specific Sonos devices as speakers. This fixed the problem with the 12-15 second ducking occurring for all of my 10 Sonos devices and instead occurring for just the Sonos devices that are in the same group as Echo device that heard the command to play music. Everything worked pretty well until a new problem started occurring in the past couple of weeks. Now, the music I ask Alexa to stream is played on one of my Echo Shows and not on my Sonos speakers. I have not changed a thing. For each Alexa group I have one or more echo devices and one or more Sonos speakers.  How do I get the correct behavior back? 

Problems here too with Sonos and Google Assistant.  I have 2 x pairs of One (Gen2) and an ARC with 2 x One (Gen2) surround.All OK until yesterday when Google Assistant stopped working on both pairs of One - remains silent when `Hey Google` spoken, as if it’s not listening.    Tried reconnecting account in Google Home - no difference.In the Sonos App (Android) under Voice Assistants, the rooms containing the pairs have disappeared and when I try to add them back in the process starts, but then keeps saying `try again`.The Arc still works fine, so having read lots of reports of Google Assistant problems I’m reluctant to try Unlinking the Sonos account in Google Home.Very cross as we use voice to control multiple lights, heating etc. and we’ve invested a lot of ££ in Sonos!!

After the upgrade of my Sonos One speakers to the newest firmware I have noticed that the Alexa Volume now is irrelevant from the Sonos actual volume. Even If I mute my Sonos One volume,  Alexa can still be heard from the speakers. In addition, when I change the volume of the speakers again Alexa volume does not change. Is something changed, or is this a bug?
